Abbey Bensman2026 5-10 G Abbey Bensman – Pope (2-2)
18.3 PPG – 5 3PTM – 6 RPG – 2.3 APG – 3 SPG – 1.8 BPG
Abbey’s special campaign sees her ranked second in the league in scoring, first in steals and second in blocks. Bensman has an uncanny ability to make plays happen with her subtle quickness. She has a nose for the ball and a true scorer’s touch which makes her impactful from all three levels. The high IQ do-everything guard should be rising on D-II recruiting boards and have offers on the horizon.

Tori Epps
2026 5-8 W Tori Epps – Heritage-Catoosa (1-3)
20 PPG – 3 3PTM – 7.5 RPG – 1.2 APG – 2 SPG
Epps has been the heart and soul for the Lady Generals. Challenging themselves with the step up in competition at the fall league, Heritage and Tori should see major dividends this upcoming season. Epps does the little things well. She’s physical for her size and is very good at blocking out. She plays bigger than her height and has a knack for scoring from 15-feet and in. Tori leads the league in scoring and is Top 10 in rebounding. As her outside shooting becomes more consistent, expect D-III programs and NAIA schools to tip off her recruitment. Epps has been the biggest stock riser in the league.

Devin Furgess
2027 5-1 PG Devin Furgess – New Manchester (4-0)
14.5 PPG – 9 3PTM – 3 RPG – 1.8 APG – 1.3 SPG
With Jocelyn Faison jumping ship, New Manchester has continued to win without the high major recruit thanks to budding star Devin Furgess. The sophomore has proven she can lead a team, not only as a designated scorer, but as a facilitator as well. Furgess has deep three-point range over high ball screens and has shiftiness when attacking downhill. Pound-for-pound, Devin is one of the most explosive scorers in the league and possibly the entire state for the 2027 class. Expect a big jump this season in terms of production. The best player on one of just two undefeated teams left, Devin might have the edge on the rest of the field for League MVP, especially if the Jaguars win out.

Morghan Slater2026 5-7 W Morghan Slater – Woodstock (1-3)
15.3 PPG – 5 3PTM – 5.5 RPG – 2 APG – 1.5 SPG – 1.5 BPG
With Woodstock in search of a true go-to player, the Wolverines have seemingly found one in Morghan Slater. The junior has come into her own this year, emerging as a consistent two-way force. Slater ranks third in the league in scoring and blocks. Morghan has the ability to play all over the floor, 1-4. Her aggressiveness on both sides of the court and her improved decision making has elevated her stock heading into Year 3.

Defensive Player of the Year Favorites

Madison Reese2025 5-6 G Madison Reese – Carrollton (4-0)
7.8 PPG – 3 3PTM – 1 RPG – 3 SPG
The Columbus State-commit has provided relentless on-ball defensive pressure. She is comfortable picking up full court and can completely change games with her effort without having to focus on scoring.

Hailey Wortmann2026 6-2 C Hailey Wortmann – Midtown (2-2)
11.8 PPG – 7.8 RPG – 1.3 SPG – 2.5 BPG
Wortmann has been one of the most productive posts in the league. She leads all players in blocks per game and places Top 10 in scoring and rebounding. Hailey’s offensive game has shown growth, attacking more off the dribble and hitting shots from the mid-range. Wortmann has steadily improved year in and year out. With two more seasons to go, expect Hailey to continue to climb up college recruiting boards. A D-I scholarship is not out of the realm of possibility.

Aeris Macon2026 5-11 C Aeris Macon – Hillgrove (3-1)
9.3 PPG – 12.3 RPG – 1.3 BPG
Hillgrove has dominated the backboards this season led by Aeris Macon. Aeris leads the league in rebounds and is fourth in blocked shots per game. Her activity level inside has anchored the Hawks. While the D-I guard play of Hillgrove gets a lot of the headlines, Macon may be the X-Factor inside.

Abbey Bensman2026 5-10 G Abbey Bensman – Pope (2-2)
18.3 PPG – 5 3PTM – 6 RPG – 2.3 APG – 3 SPG – 1.8 BPG

Morghan Slater2026 5-7 W Morghan Slater – Woodstock (1-3)
15.3 PPG – 5 3PTM – 5.5 RPG – 2 APG – 1.5 SPG – 1.5 BPG
