In the performance of the year, Athena Vachtsevanos exploded for 35 points to carry North Hall (2-4) past Fannin County (2-3). Vachtsevanos was unconscious from the beginning, draining jumper after jumper. Athena thrived at getting to her step-back jumper, netting seven threes including the go-ahead basket with 52 seconds left. In total, Vachtsevanos knocked down nine outside shots while mixing in two left-handed drives to go with a handful of transition layups. Courtney Davis, who committed to Young Harris hours later after the game, dropped in 15 points to pace the Rebels, finding her offense on downhill drives. Macy Hawkins and Reese Lewis combined for 24 points, 15 rebounds, 1 assist, 6 steals and 2 blocks, controlling the paint.

Denmark 47, Redline 42

Following an 0-4 start, Denmark (2-4) has now ripped off consecutive wins with their full roster intact. Emma Hempker and Avery Huffman scored 14 points apiece, helping the Danes rally from a seven-point halftime deficit to defeat Redline (3-3). Hempker went 7-11 from the foul line while Huffman sank a pair of threes and converted two And-1 opportunities in transition. Hannah Lopez scored eight of her 10 points in the second half while Naomi Manoj provided a spark, scoring her six points in the second half all coming via the baseline. Redline saw Calleigh Salvador have her best shooting performance of the season, hitting three three-pointers. Carib Morris narrowly missed out on a double-double.

South Forsyth 39, Lanier 13

A balanced offense along with an aggressive defense saw South Forsyth (3-3) move to .500 with their second-straight win. Jadyn Kniceley was a game-wrecker on defense, picking up five steals and scoring all five of her hoops in transition. Amelia Brown drilled two threes while Berkley Bennett went 6-8 from the foul line. Lanier (0-6) had just five players. Asja Howell did her damage at the free throw line shooting 7-10.

Lydia Gay had her best performance of the season in support of Julie Azeltine, helping Oconee County (4-2) scratch past Union County (4-2) to enter into a three-way tie for second place. In her final game of the year, Azeltine scored 13 of her game-high 16 points in the first half. Julie buried a pair of threes and netted three mid-range jumpers. Gay scored inside and out, converting on two And-1s to go with a pair of outside shots. Elizabeth Wynn returned to action and was steady in the paint, showcasing a soft touch from 10-feet and the ability to alter shots defensively. Union County received a team-high 10 points from Kamryn Mull courtesy of two threes, a drive and a pull-up jumper in transition. Ariel McCarter went 5-6 from the foul line while Lara Turner shined again with her versatility, hitting shots from the mid-range and creating as a pocket-passer off the dribble.

Michel Robbins had more late game heroics, this time grabbing an offensive rebound and scoring a putback at the buzzer to snap Jefferson’s three-game losing streak, drawing the Dragons back to .500 at 3-3. Skyler Brady had a breakout performance with 14 points, hitting a pair of threes to go with some strong takes to the basket, finishing with both hands. Delaney DeWitt continued her tough work on the backboards with seven rebounds. Anni Aldridge made her second appearance of the season and chipped in 4 points and 3 rebounds. Athens Academy (2-4) wrapped up their fall league experience with Millie Pugmire hitting two threes to lead the team in scoring. Kendall Lawson finished with her customary 7 points while Sally Swann missed out on a double-double by three points, displaying a soft touch from the line going 5-7.

Dawson County 40, East Forsyth 21

Dawson County (7-0) jumped out to an 8-0 lead and cruised to victory, clinching the league title as East Forsyth (4-2) fell out of contention. Up 16-9 at the break, Abby Slaton drilled three second half threes while Morgan Chester posted eight of her 10 points to break the game open. Slaton finished with five threes on the day. East Forsyth struggled to compete on the glass with the bigger Tigers, outrebounded 33-13. Jaci Wilson ate away inside over the final 20 minutes, scoring all seven of her points to go with her 9 rebounds. Hollyn Hicks was a bright spot for the Broncos, netting her 7 points in the second half. Hailey Hiddema and Addison Rouse both made threes.
