Chestatee (1-2) secured their first win of the season and in the process knocked Walnut Grove (2-1) from the ranks of the unbeatens. A three-point barrage powered the Lady War Eagles, drilling 10 long balls. Chestatee led 26-23 at the half before a lightning quick 9-0 spurt pushed the lead out for good as Addison Boyd sank a pair of threes and Caroline Bull netted her fourth of five triples. Bull led all scorers with 17 points while Boyd added 11 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 1 steal. Riley Black helped create open looks for teammates as double teams and traps were run at her. Black drew the attention of the defense and found the open man frequently, finishing with 11 points, 4 rebounds and 8 assists. Payton Cable anchored the defense with three charges, now up to six for the season to lead the league through her two games of action. Niera Ovalles shot well for Walnut Grove, hitting three threes en route to 14 points. Cameria Reed tallied 16 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals while Teaira Kelley posted 13 points and 6 rebounds.

Fannin County 37, Lanier 31

Fannin County (2-1) has come accustom to playing close games. That experience paid off as the Rebels held off Lanier (1-2) for their second consecutive victory. Ellie Cook was hot early, hitting three three-pointers in the first half, scoring 12 of her 13 points in the opening 20 minutes. As a team, Fannin County drained seven threes. Reigan O’Neal had a strong performance with a pair of threes and three steals. Her activity and athleticism on the perimeter helped hound Lanier’s young backcourt. Courtney Davis was held to three points, but she did dish out four assists. Asja Howell paced Lanier with 11 points and 5 rebounds. Nalani Gainey continued her pursuit of the steals title, grabbing four more to bring her average to 6 per game. Ajanae Jones returned to action with 7 points and 5 rebounds while Amani Salters chipped in 4 points and 5 rebounds.

An 11-0 start led to a 29-4 halftime lead for East Forsyth (1-1) as the shorthanded Broncos got major contributions up and down their lineup. Hailey Hiddema knocked down four threes en route to 16 points while Adeline Rosebush had her way inside with 11 points, 10 rebounds, 3 steals and 4 blocks. Rosebush was effective as a roller out of screens, dominated the offensive glass and popped out for a corner three. Hannah Kermicle made an impact on defense collecting five steals. Nora Swafford nailed a pull-up three and had some pretty assists in pick-and-roll settings. Union County (1-1) received 6 points from Corinne Hill after a week hiatus. Ariel McCarter scored 4 points.
