Chestatee (1-3) had no answer for Lara Turner as Union County (2-1) extended a 15-10 halftime lead into a 14-point victory. Turner had a breakout game with 18 points, 6 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 blocks. The athletic forward had it all working, hitting three pull-up jumpers and using her length to knock away steals and score in transition.  Giovanna Salazar added 5 points while Paula Robertson and Kamryn Mull netted 4 apiece. Chestatee, who was short-handed missing two starters, received 8 points from Riley Black. After sinking 10 threes in Week 3, the Lady War Eagles connected on just two long balls. Freshman MaryAnn Steele had her best game of the season with 5 points while fellow rookie Blakely Boyd contributed with her hustle, leading the team in rebounds with 7.

Fannin County 35, Dawson County 30

Courtney Davis dumped in a season-high 19 points, scoring 13 in the second half to hold off a Dawson County (1-2) comeback. Fannin County (3-1) held a 16-6 lead at the break before Kindra Coker, Morgan Chester and Abby Samples-Slaton began to find a groove. The Tigers went on a 10-0 run to trim the lead to 25-18 with 13:55 to play as Coker knocked down a three and began to facilitate. Chester provided a spark with her interior play, scoring inside and blocking shots. In her season debut, Samples-Slaton netted a three and hit a spin-back fadeaway to draw the Tigers nearer. Davis would step on the gas however to keep Dawson County at arm’s reach. She went 6-7 from the line in the second half. Reigan O’Neal and Ellie Cook made timely stops on defense, each finishing with 4 steals.

The duo of Asja Howell (13) and Ajanae Jones (10) combined for 23 points for Lanier (2-2). Howell added 6 rebounds while Jones brough down 9. Nalani Gainey finished with 4 points and 4 assists. Jefferson (0-3) was anchored by Delaney Dewitt who posted 15 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 steal. Eve Knight was effective inside with 6 points, 7 rebounds, 2 steals and 3 blocks. Emeri Billings broke into the Top 5 leaderboard for assists, dishing out three.

South Forsyth 38, East Forsyth 22

South Forsyth (3-0) returned to action and scored their third double-digit victory albeit their lowest scoring output of the season. The War Eagles held East Forsyth (1-2) scoreless for over 10 minutes to slowly inch away. South Forsyth led 20-8 at the half and didn’t allow a point in the second half until midway through the frame. Clara Morris poured in 18 points to pace the War Eagles. Moving her into the Top 5 in scoring (14.0), making her the third War Eagle in the group. Sharon Tolliver (14.3) netted 6 points while Jadyn Kniceley (13.7) chipped in 4. The League leader in assists (6.0) and steals (7.3) per game Maggie Thompson added 6 assists and 3 steals. Hailey Hiddema led the Broncos with 7 points coming via two threes. Addison Rouse (6) and Ayla Heard (5) combined for 11 points.
