2024 5-7 G Shakiria Foster – Lamar County
Coming into camp Shakiria Foster had something to prove. After a strong showing last week at PRO Summer Madness, the All-State guard still had work to do in Carrollton. Foster cemented herself as not just a dynamic athlete that can get to the rim whenever she wants, but she proved she can consistently shoot the three at an efficient rate and in the process, all but secured herself as a legitimate D-II prospect. Foster carried Lamar County as they battled schools from higher classifications. Tuesday morning was her official coming out party in front of both West Georgia and LaGrange against Harrison dumping in 27 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal on 10-16 shooting and most impressively, 4-7 from beyond the arc. Foster will draw more and more college attention with her three-point shot along with her speed and ability to attack the basket off two feet. I wouldn’t be stunned if Foster lands multiple offers before her appearance at the Sandy’s Spiel Tip-Off Classic on 11/18 at Chestatee.

2025 5-8 PG Daija Preston – Carrollton
A midseason move from Douglas County to Carrollton will reap benefits this upcoming season. Preston got more and more comfortable as camp wore on, upping her output each and every game. Across three games Preston shined as a playmaker and defender before finding her stroke on offense, averaging 12.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3 assists and 1.7 steals, finishing Tuesday with an impressive 21-point outburst, sinking five mid-range jumpers. Daija’s frame and athleticism are quick to note. She handles the ball well, pushing it up the court as a pass-first distributor. Her strength helps her handle pressure and get to her spots. While extending her range out to the three-point line is an area for growth, her mid-range shot is her best weapon. Daija will provide a steady presence in the backcourt and serve as a potential X-Factor when she’s hunting her offense.
2025 5-9 F Madison Swint – Carrollton
The productive offseason of Madison Swint roared on at UWG. Her physicality helped Carrollton to an undefeated two-day stretch. Swint twice led the Trojans in scoring, posting 12 points and 9 rebounds against Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe before her 12 points and 5 rebounds against Chestatee. Maybe her most impressive performance was her lowest scoring game, hitting only a three against Baldwin but more importantly providing lockdown defense against 6-foot-3 Janaye Walker, helping hold the star post to just six points. Swint used her tree-trunk strong lower half to battle Walker for position and keep her out of the lane. Madison did a great job denying the post and fronting in spurts. Every time I watch Swint, she finds another way to help her team win, impressing me in the process.

2024 5-8 G Riley Black – Chestatee
In a narrow 46-39 loss to Carrollton, Black still was able to get wherever she wanted to go, finishing with 20 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 1 steal on 8-12 shooting. Riley pounded the ball and defenders on the way to the hoop. Black used her strength and a methodical attack to wear down the defense. She implemented an impressive handle, using a sharp behind the back dribble into a quick crossover to get downhill. Black scored on drives, step-through floaters and mid-range pull-ups. She will have plenty of eyes on her this week at the GBCA.
2024 5-9 W Breana Griffin – Rome
Breana Griffin was a handful for Dawson County, pouring in 25 points, 6 rebounds, 4 steals and 1 block in a tight 36-33 loss. Griffin could have had even more, but was inconsistent at the line going 3-7, hitting her first attempt and final two, but missing four in between. Breana lived at the line thanks to her slashing skills. The wiry senior consistently got meaningful penetration scoring on five drives. Griffin mixed in her pull-up jumper very well, knocking down three mid-range shots and a three-pointer off the dribble. Albany State became the first school to offer last month. Griffin is trending up.

2027 5-8 G Giaunni Rogers – St. Francis
I’ll admit, I was a bit shocked to find out Giaunni Rogers is just a freshman. By no means did she look or play like one in a 58-21 win over Lanier. Giaunni is a stoutly built guard with quick defensive instincts. She gobbled up steals in the press but most impressive to me was her outside shooting. Rogers has a beautiful compact jump shot with knockdown range extending to the three-point line. When Giaunni put the ball on the floor she displayed the ability to finish at the rim through contact. She tallied 15 points, 1 assist and 5 steals. Although it was just one game, Rogers’ first impression is one that will stick with me. She has the early makings of a Power 5 prospect and is already on SEC radars.
2025 5-11 F August Betz – Model
One of the brightest spots in camp for me was the emergence of August Betz. I admittedly had not heard of Betz before, a Region 7-2A Honorable Mention selection this past season. Getting my eyes on players like Betz is why I love attending summer camps. It is a great way to learn more about programs and discover up-and-coming talent. Betz has a chance to pop up on radars soon. Home schooled coming into high school, August only has two years of structured basketball experience. Also a volleyball player to no surprise, Betz is a long, lean and springy southpaw that has great hands and a nose for the ball. She’s quick off the floor to high-point rebounds and is an impressive finisher when getting to her left hand, scoring on putbacks, lobs, dives to the rim and with her back to the basket. August’s agility and movements are that of a natural athlete. Getting in the weight room will help her reach her potential as she is on the slender side, but Betz is very effective and looks primed for a breakout junior season. Betz’ best game came against Woodstock with 11 points, 8 rebounds and 1 block. D-III, NAIA and even D-II programs will want to quietly track August’s progress. She has a considerable ceiling with great natural tools already in place.
2025 5-10 F August Betz (@ladydevilbball_) is having another strong performance. Really impressed with her left hand.

2025 5-3 PG Lily Conkell – Woodstock
Lily brings a spitfire of energy to the Woodstock backcourt. Small in stature, Conkell doesn’t have a tiny mindset. She plays very hard on both sides of the ball. Lily can be an annoyance on defense with her gnat-like quickness and on-ball pressure. Her active hands often swipe away steals that ignite the Wolverines’ transition game. Lily impressed me with her ability to create for others. She’s an effective drive-and-kick playmaker. Conkell often makes good decisions and is a threat to slide through the defense and slip in tough passes to teammates on the block. When looking for her own offense, Lily is a threat to pull-up from beyond the arc. In Woodstock’s 36-35 win against Model, Conkell contributed 9 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists and 6 steals.

2024 5-10 W Natalee Goff – Athens Christian
I don’t see a way Natalee Goff doesn’t close this week with at least one new offer. She is one of the best rising seniors in the state still flying under the radar. Her size, toughness and diverse offensive game all grade highly. Goff, who picked up multiple JUCO offers this past season, is a true bucket-getter on the perimeter. She is very good out of isolation settings and is able to quickly get into rhythm when coming off screens. The ball looks different coming out of Goff’s hands than most other shooters. While she is a great shooter from both the three-point line and mid-range, what I like about Goff is that she can go inside and work for a tough bucket. She will take opponents in the post, bang with them and score on baby hooks and turnaround jumpers. Natalee tossed in 23 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist and 3 steals in a 41-37 win over Model to open camp. All D-II programs should have her as a target. Small D-I schools should take a peek as well.
2025 6-1 F Akilah Shelton – Hardaway
Monday was my first live look at Akilah Shelton, Class 4A’s Best Shot Blocker and a prospect that has been on college radars since her freshman year. At 6-foot-1, Shelton has a good frame with a strong lower body and long arms. The lefty is a defensive anchor with her ability to alter shots and limit opponents on the glass. What popped out most to me was how refined Akilah looked on offense. She netted a pair of threes, scored out of the pick-and-roll, converted an And-1 putback and had a nice post move in which she came across the lane through traffic to finish with her left. AK tallied 17 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 blocks against Maynard Jackson. If Shelton can continue to stretch the floor with her jump shot, that coupled with her effectiveness inside on both ends of the floor, don’t be surprised if multiple D-I schools start to pop with offers.
2025 6-1 F @AkilahShelton25 (@HardawayHoopsGB) has been very impressive today. Has scored inside and out while providing excellent rim protection.
Strong finish across the lane for the lefty.#WolvesTeamCamp pic.twitter.com/SWvcxkPSv8

2024 5-10 PF British McKinney – Maynard Jackson
Maynard Jackson has had a strong stretch of success producing talented players. Zay Dyer was the most recent to ink to play at the D-I level and Taliah Cornish has been a regular on All-State lists while Shakira Gresham, Shamaria Arnold and even Cayden Cornish have all been household names, but on Monday it was Region 5-5A Honorable Mention selection British McKinney that really caught my eye. Somewhat of an unsung hero compared to the aforementioned names, McKinney’s value is undeniable. She made a positive first impression recording 10 points, 5 rebounds, 1 steal and 2 blocks in a 44-39 win over Hardaway. McKinney is a strong forward that bangs in the post. She does a nice job scoring on putbacks and showcased power moves with her back to the basket. The lefty is worthy of some college looks. She’s a nice sleeper for smaller programs.
2026 5-10 PF Reese Lewis – Fannin County
The Lady Rebels ran into a Woodward Academy buzzsaw on Tuesday but rising sophomore Reese Lewis was a pleasant positive. The lefty might not leap out at you with her size or athleticism, but her effectiveness can’t be denied. She finds herself at the right place at the right time and makes herself available. Lewis found points running the floor and in the post, drawing fouls in the process. Reese tallied 18 points, 6 rebounds and 1 block, scoring all of her field goals in the paint. With an increased role ahead in Year 2, expect Reese to improve steadily over the course of her career.
2025 6-0 SG Kameron Herring – Woodward Academy
I told a Mid-Major program at the end of last season that Kameron Herring should be on their radar. Her length and elite three-point shooting immediately draw attention. To no surprise, this offseason Herring has blown up with offers piling in from Kentucky, Providence, Iona, Appalachian State, Liberty, Georgia Southern, UL-Lafayette, Harvard and Davidson. A handful more will likely trickle in this month for the effortless shooter. Herring has such value from both a physical and skill standpoint. Kameron isn’t just a catch-and-shoot specialist either, she’s able to make plays off the dribble and is a versatile defender that helps on the glass and can get into passing lanes. Herring swished three threes en route to 11 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals against Fannin County. Kameron is one of the hottest prospects in the state right now.
