2024 5-9 PG Lucy Hood – Rabun County
The Western Carolina-commit got her senior season off to a hot start, netting five of Rabun County’s 11 threes in a 60-25 rout of Towns County.
Lucy scored all around the perimeter hitting from the corner, top of the key and wings. As the game wore on with the LadyCats firmly in control, Hood began to dissect the defense with her passing, riffling in assists through the teeth of the defense and making skip passes to tire out the Indian defenders as they tried to rotate from side to side. Lucy finished with 15 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals.

2024 5-3 G Mili Watts – Rabun County
A newly minted Winthrop softball-commit, Mili’s unrelenting aggression defensively quickly set the tone as the LadyCats raced out to a 21-5 first quarter lead behind their full court press. Watts’ quickness was on full display, swiping steals as an on-ball defender and darting into lanes to pick off passes. Mili’s defensive effort has been an invaluable part of the LadyCats’ success over the past two seasons, able to swing momentum with her hustle. The defensive ace opened up the night with a pair of threes, a much-welcomed addition to the offense if she can consistently hit open shots. Watts tallied 12 points, 1 rebound, 1 assist and 6 steals.
2027 5-4 G Addy Beth Owens – Rabun County
Addy Beth has come on strong since the season has started, looking much more comfortable than initially over the spring. Owens’ identity is emerging as a slash-first guard that likes to get downhill. Addy Beth sparked her offense by coming off the bench and quickly picking up a pair of steals. When Owens had the ball in the half court, her first instinct was to attack the defense and use a eurostep to draw fouls. Addy Beth has room to grow as a drive and kick penetrator as the game continues to slow down for her and allows her to read defenses quicker. Owens went 4-6 from the foul line on her way to 6 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists and 3 steals.
2024 5-5 PG Brelan Sieveking – Towns County
Brelan was a bright spot for Towns County. Throughout the game she was a vocal leader for the Indians encouraging her teammates and directing them what to do. After a scoreless first half, Sieveking found her aggressiveness once Towns County was able to settle into their half court offense. Brelan managed her way into the paint on numerous occasions, drawing fouls in the process going 7-8 from the line. Brelan finished with her left hand very well and although outside shots weren’t falling, has a pretty form on her jumper. Sieveking totaled 11 points, 3 rebounds and 2 steals.
2025 6-0 F Kayla Cleaveland – River Ridge
While River Ridge battled early foul trouble and a little bit of rust, it was Kayla Cleaveland who kept the Knights afloat after falling behind 8-0 to start at Langston Hughes. Cleaveland scored four of the Knights’ five first quarter points and closed the half with nine including a pair of free throws with 1:19 left to give River Ridge their first lead of the game at 19-17 heading into the half. Momentum continued to snowball in River Ridge’s favor as the Knights leapt out to a 43-30 lead after three quarters and closed out a 56-46 victory. Cleaveland was paramount, the lefty serving as a mismatch against Langston Hughes’ guard-heavy lineup. Kayla drained four threes, three coming in the second half to create separation. Cleaveland finished with a game-high 18 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 block. While her outside shooting was crucial, Kayla’s defense was as well, doing a nice job moving her feet against Langston Hughes’ quick attacking guards.

2025 5-7 PG Sophia Pearl – River Ridge
Two quick fouls on Sophia Pearl led to River Ridge’s lowest scoring quarter in recent memory, five points. Once inserted back into the lineup midway through the second quarter the Knights offense began to click and did so for the entirety of the second half. Pearl’s offensive lubrication was initiated with a deep three and would continue throughout. Sophia mixed in playmaking with looking for her own offense, scoring 12 of her 14 points in the second half to pair with her 3 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals. The calming influence of Pearl in the backcourt gives the rest of the roster confidence as their lead guard has the ability to not only take over games with her scoring, but make others around her better with her facilitating.
2027 6-2 W Finley Parker – River Ridge
The heralded freshman was a bit of a microcosm of River Ridge as a whole. A disjointed first half was soon forgotten thanks to an early third quarter flurry that put the Knights ahead for good. Parker sparked a 13-0 run, hitting a pair of three throws, a pull-up jumper, blocking a shot and then nailing a corner three to take a commanding 32-19 lead. Finley is at her best when she plays loose. Sometimes she can be indecisive and think too much with the ball which leads to turnovers. In the second half she played freely on offense and let her skill take over. Parker was dominant on defense throughout the game. The Knights have much more length inside than they did a year ago and used it to stymy Langston Hughes’ second chance opportunities blocking 11 shots, seven via Finley who excelled at keeping her arms straight up and trusting to her length to reach shots at their peak. Offensively, aside from hitting three jumpers, two from beyond the arc, Parker liked to attack the basket and spin off the defender before getting to her layup. Disguising her intentions by quickening and tightening her spin will help its effectiveness. All in all, Parker’s performance against the No. 2 team in the state was clearly an X-Factor. Finley finished with 10 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals and 7 blocks. Expect more robust stat lines as the season wears on – Parker will get better and better throughout the year.
2025 6-2 C McKayla Taylor – Langston Hughes
There aren’t too many posts in the state of Georgia that can physically stack up to McKayla Taylor. She has a terrific frame and excels at rebounding in traffic, doing a nice job of keeping the ball high. Taylor actively works for post position and has good hands when corralling over the top lobs. McKayla flashed the ability to face-up on the block and spin to the hoop. Taylor has a soft touch at the foul line, shooting 4-4. Battling River Ridge’s long front line, Taylor did a great job gobbling up offensive rebounds. Working on using her body to carve out space and exploding up to finish will help avoid having her shot blocked. McKayla posted a double-double with 12 points, 14 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 blocks.
2026 5-6 G Karrell Greene – Langston Hughes
I liked the smooth feel of Karrell’s game. Greene has a pretty looking jump shot, sinking three on the night including a corner three. Karrell was active on defense, quick to jump on loose balls and force turnovers. Her agility with the ball gives her upside as a creator off the dribble, capable of getting to the hoop and distributing. Greene finished with 12 points, 1 rebound, 2 assists, 4 steals and 1 block.
