Marcus Scurry2025 5-11 PG Marcus Scurry – Butler
Marcus Scurry’s rise to D-I signee happened in the blink of an eye. Maybe not a household name statewide in Georgia – although he should be by now – the Denver-signee has solidified himself as one of the smoothest guards in the state and in the discussion as not only the best point guard in Augusta, but one of the elite in Georgia. Scurry was fantastic in Butler’s 77-75 overtime loss to Campbell and one of the main reasons they even had a chance to win the game. Marcus poured in 32 points on 15-18 shooting from the foul line while collecting 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 1 steal. Scurry scored 24 points in the second half and netted all nine of Butler’s overtime points. Marcus navigated high flat ball screens to perfection, getting downhill to draw fouls, deftly stopping on a dime for pull-ups and hitting rollers to the basket. Scurry connected on three three-pointers while mixing in a pair of mid-range jumpers. He went on a 5-0 run in less than a minute to knot the game at 75, hitting a contested pull-up three before dropping a pair of free throws with 3.7 seconds to play. Scurry’s the complete package at the guard position and a reason why Butler is still a contender in Class 2A.

2026 6-2 W Kwamane Bridges – Butler
Kwamane found plenty of success attacking from the top of the key and the high post, often times playing a two-man game with Marcus Scurry. Listed at 6-foot-2, Bridges feels taller with his length and activity level. He has broad shoulders which help him carve out space when attacking the basket and rebounding. I like how patient Bridges is with the ball. When he turns to face, he surveys the floor before making a move, reading what the defense is giving him. Kwamane scored on an And-1 drive to start his day, one of two drives he converted on. He hit a straightaway three and netted a pair of jumpers from the mid-range. Bridges is an effective two-way player. He finished with 18 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and 2 blocks, coming up big in the fourth quarter with nine points including a jumper with 14 seconds left to force overtime.

2025 6-0 G Jaelen Cheaves – Campbell
When big shots were needed, Jaelen Cheaves delivered. In an instant classic, a see-saw game throughout regulation and overtime, Campbell survived Butler 77-75. It was Cheaves who netted 20 of his team-high 22 points after halftime to pair with his 5 rebounds in the win. Cheaves got hot in the third quarter with 11 points and remained on the burner the rest of the way. Jaelen netted three three-pointers, scored downhill and went 5-6 from the foul line. His jump shooting propelled the Spartans but it was his timely 5-0 run that gave Campbell the lead for good, getting fouled on a three-pointer to sink all three free throws and then scoring on a transition reverse layup with 51 seconds left in overtime to surge ahead 72-70.

2025 6-2 G Kaylan Robertson – Campbell
I really appreciate what Kaylan does on both ends of the floor. As a big guard, Robertson has a strong and long frame which can hinder opposing guards. He worked hard guarding on-ball but also rotating down to block shots at the rim. Part of Campbell’s balanced offense, Kaylan hit a three, sank a floater, netted a step-back off the dribble and converted a drive as part of his 13 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal and 2 blocks.

2027 6-3 W Tyce Curtis – Campbell
One of many unsung heroes for Campbell, I really was impressed with Tyce Curtis’ final stat line and most importantly his cool, draining a pair of free throws with one second left to win the game 77-75. Tyce recorded 10 points, 2 rebounds, 8 assists, 3 steals and 1 block. Curtis was in the middle of everything, serving as a positionless piece that rotated from on-ball playmaker to off-ball hustler. When the ball found Curtis, he made good reads to find open teammates. His defense sparked his offense, scoring twice off steals and on the opening tip of the game. Curtis’ activity level and long frame allowed him to impact the game in a variety of ways. I like Tyce’s upside.
