2028 5-11 F Ava Jenkins – Macon Mystics – Bleckley County
Jenkins lived up to the billing as the next big thing out of Middle Georgia, leading the Macon Mystics to a 7-0 week tipped off by a 3-0 showing at War Games. Coming off a Class A D-I All-State Honorable Mention campaign as a freshman in which she averaged 13.8 points, 11.5 rebounds and 2.5 blocks per game, Ava has an encore performance in store as she will carry over even more momentum into Year 2. Jenkins’ motor stands out, especially when paired with her length and athleticism. Ava is a springy forward who runs the floor, rebounds and blocks shots. She finds her offense in a variety of ways inside the arc. She actively posts up, showing a target hand when sealing for lob passes over the defense. On the low block, Ava has good footwork. She utilizes her pivot to step through traps while maintaining balance. Jenkins is a two-foot finisher, often scoring through contact. When she spaces out to the wing or the high post, Ava has a quick first step that gets her to the rim. She is difficult to keep off the offensive glass for putbacks. In a tournament opening 51-9 win over Explosive Elites, Jenkins recorded 19 points, 7 rebounds and 1 block with Newberry sitting courtside. Later on in the week, Ava poured in a season-high 37 points in a win. Jenkins is a gamechanger who will keep Bleckley County competitive over her next three seasons. She should pop up on college radars in due time.
2026 5-6 PG Aubrey Norris – Macon Mystics – Jones County
Schools are starting to fall in love with Aubrey Norris. The stock rising point guard is on the verge of seeing her first offers trickle in. After starring at GBCA Live, momentum has continued to build for the playmaker. Norris’ consistency at the lead guard position has resulted in win after win. Aubrey is polished with the ball, a keen decision maker when balancing when to look for her shot and when to create for others. She has a knack for getting to her spots in the mid-range, a sharp pull-up shooter from 15-feet. Norris finishes with a floater in traffic, using her change of speed to get past defenders when penetrating. Aubrey’s activity level on defense leads to on-ball steals and hustle recovery plays to protect the rim. In a 51-44 win over New Era, Aubrey controlled the action with a game-high 17 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals and 3 blocks. Middle Georgia State and Newberry were among the programs that caught her throughout the week. D-II offers are on the horizon.
2026 5-10 W Payton Latimer – Macon Mystics – Mount de Sales
The little things are what caught my eye with Payton Latimer. Defensively, I noted how she whipped her head around on back cuts to deny any feeds. A small thing, but the type of attention to detail that helps win games and eliminate easy buckets. Latimer was also vocal on defense, calling out screens and communicating throughout the duration of possessions. Payton’s greatest offensive strength was her three-point shot. It was a quick release and one that was shot in a fluid motion upon the catch, a no dip, catch-high keep-high release. If closed out on on the perimeter, Latimer displayed nice speed to the rim to create off the dribble. The 3&D wing sank two threes en route to 6 points, 5 rebounds and 1 assist against New Era.
2029 5-9 SG Ellie Warren – Georgia Dominance Lioness – Marist
A capable scoring threat next to Kate Harpring might be exactly what is needed for Marist to make another state title run. Ellie Warren may fit the bill, a shot-making scoring minded guard. Warren is a score-first guard with great touch. She is a catch-and-shoot threat from beyond the arc but is also very accurate when pulling up from deep. Ellie utilizes step-backs to get to her quick trigger. Warren’s polished offensive game also features the ability to get into the paint and finish tough left-handed floaters from out to 12-feet. Continuing to improve her agility and athleticism will be important to her development as Ellie is still young and growing into her frame, but her offensive acumen is no doubt advanced. If she can pick up on Marist’s defensive system, her offensive firepower could be a major boon as a perimeter jump shooter. Georgia Dominance Lioness lost to Phoenix VA 58-29, playing with five and at times just four players on the floor, but Warren was the bright spot recording a game-high 18 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 steals, nailing four three-pointers.
2026 5-9 G JaMiah Lewis – FBC Dynasty – Ridgeland
Shorter offered the Northwest Georgia sleeper in May. Injuries got in the way at times during her junior season but JaMiah Lewis has had one of the best careers of active players in the GHSA that not many may know about due to Ridgeland compiling just a 24-53 record over her first three seasons but a competitive senior season should be on the horizon now that she has help coming in the form of freshman Jordyn Thomas. With that being said, Lewis averaged 24 points, 8.4 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 3.4 steals and 2.2 blocks per game as a junior and has started to gain some traction with D-II programs. JaMiah had a productive week at War Games and ATL SummerSlam as her robust stat sheet stuffing skill set was on display. In a 55-53 loss to Southeast United Jax, Lewis recorded 12 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists and 7 steals. JaMiah’s smooth athleticism and long limbs allow her to influence games on both sides of the ball. She has the wingspan to be able to reach in for steals and the quickness to move laterally to limit penetration. On offense, Lewis can do a little bit of everything. She sank a pair of threes and had a crafty finish, spinning to the rim with a right-handed scoop layup on the left side, one of the prettiest buckets of the week. At ATL SummerSlam, Lewis tallied 8 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals and 1 block in a win over AEBL Heard. I like Lewis’ tools and her overall two-way impact.
2029 5-2 PG Jordyn Thomas – FBC Dynasty – Ridgeland
The addition of Jordyn Thomas to Ridgeland will pay major dividends. A high motor point guard, Thomas excelled playing at the 17U level as an incoming freshman. She competed as an on-ball defender, often times energizing her offense. Jordyn is a solid passer off the dribble and a threat to get all the way to the rim. Throughout the week she managed to hit shots along the perimeter with three-point range and rebounded well for her size. In the two games I watched, Jordyn averaged 8 points, 3.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 3 steals per game. A legitimate second scoring option and another valuable ball handler, Thomas could help Ridgeland reach the 10-win plateau for just the second time in the past nine seasons.
2026 5-11 C Disaya Reid – FBC Dynasty – Collins Hill
Listed at 5-foot-11, Disaya Reid looks and plays bigger. I liked her effort on the glass, attacking offensive rebounds for putbacks and earning second chance opportunities for her team. She showed the ability to catch and score out of the pick-and-roll. Reid utilized a spin move inside, dropped in a floater and netted a mid-range jumper as well. She put up 8 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals against Southeast United Jax and posted 8 points, 3 rebounds and 1 assist at ATL SummerSlam against AEBL Heard. Reid’s physicality and toughness should draw some attention. Essex County College offered last month. I think Reid would be a solid option for D-III programs.
2029 5-6 PG Millie Southards – Southeast United Jax – Rabun County
The incoming freshman had no issue playing up at the 17U level, leading Southeast United Jax to a 55-53 win over FBC Dynasty as she tallied 11 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 2 steals. Millie’s ability to conform to whichever team she plays with in whatever type of role gives her immense value and exhibits her advanced awareness. Regardless of who she plays with, Southards always competes at a high level, physical on both ends of the floor. She thrives as a distributor, drawing and kicking to open teammates. Her offense against FBC Dynasty came on downhill drives but she also drained a corner three. Southards does a lot for those around her making things come easy for her teammates. Millie will be one of the most impactful freshmen in the state of Georgia this year.
2028 5-5 G Shailyn Jones – FBC Team All In Black – Gainesville
Every time I watch Shailyn Jones play, I come away impressed with her relentless effort. Jones always manages to fill up the box score usually powered by her aggressiveness on defense. Shailyn’s infectious hustle leads to steals and rebounds. She does well shooting gaps and stood out on Friday with her decision making off the dribble, facilitating on drives. In a 62-32 win, Jones totaled 6 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals.
2026 5-8 G Kayla Jackson – VLC Thunder – Lowndes
It was a coming out party this week for Kayla Jackson as her elite motor led to massive performances and huge wins. Jackson, who averaged 9.2 points, 8.7 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 2.5 steals as a junior, surpassed those marks consistently at War Games. In a route of the Lady Monarchs, Kayla was the catalyst pouring in 18 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist, 6 steals and 2 blocks. Jackson made plays all over the floor, a ballhawk on defense and a bundle of energy on offense. Jackson scored three hoops off steals, hit a three and went 5-6 from the line. Her ability to rebound in crowds was maybe most impressive, high-pointing rebounds with two hands. Jackson is a true two-way player. Continuing to expand the consistency of her outside shooting range will help her stock moving forward, but with how hard she plays she brings value as a springy multi-positional athlete that plays bigger than her size. Jackson holds a Central Georgia Tech offer.
2027 5-5 CG Adelyn Thompson – Southeast United Florida – Rabun County
The combo guard did her damage off-ball in a 46-20 win over Nomades. Thompson was able to star as a catch-and-shoot floor stretcher, draining three threes and a long baseline jumper on her way to 13 points and 2 rebounds. Thompson’s growth as a lead guard has elevated her stock greatly over the past 12 months while maintaining her knockdown three-point shot. Her competitiveness as an on-ball defender helps make up for any perceived lack of speed when guarding quicker players laterally.
2027 5-8 PG Savannah Aparicio – AEBL Taylor – Etowah
AEBL Taylor rolled past the Classic City Ballers 52-34. Savannah’s playmaking played a big part in the win as she thrived as a downhill attacker using her strong frame to penetrate before kicking out to shooters. Aparicio is rarely pushed off her line, playing with great balance as she attacks the hoop. Savannah scored with both hands and netted a pull-up three-pointer as she collected 13 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal.
