2029 5-5 PG Paris Wilson – McEachern
A quick-twitch playmaker with great speed, while Paris may be slender in frame, she’s big in game. Wilson has a great motor, consistently flying around the floor to make plays. She saves possessions by hustling out of bounds to keep balls in play. The point guard is extremely shifty, shaking defenders to free herself for pull-up threes. Wilson wiggles her way into the teeth of the defense routinely where she is able to accurately deliver explosive jump passes on target to open shooters. Though she may be light weight, Wilson doesn’t get bullied on defense. She expertly uses her footspeed to limit dribble penetration and her quick reaction times often limit opposing guards’ opportunities to score.
2029 5-7 PG Zoe Williams – Marietta
Multiple D-I schools have already offered the mature lead guard. Zoe doesn’t get rushed when the ball is in her hands. She gets to where she wants to go, playing with flow and pace. Williams breezes past defenders to get to the hoop. She has a pretty floater in her arsenal and is smooth finishing with her left hand. Williams keeps her head up while probing, always ready to distribute upon the collapse of defenders. While her offense gets plenty of the recognition, Zoe can defend at a high level as well. She did well guarding the ball downhill, finishing drives with blocked shots and deflections.
2029 5-6 PG Scout Henry – Union County
Scout is a fearless competitor who loves to eliminate airspace when guarding the ball aggressively. Henry excels at digging in for steals and forcing tie ups. When the ball is on the floor, Scout dives for it without hesitation. The ball magnet seems to be involved in every play. Her tenacious demeanor extends to the offensive side of the ball as she protects the rock against pressure and can turn corners to create scoring opportunities for others when she isn’t tossing up her floater. Upon misses, defenses must be aware of where Scout is. She loves to crash the glass from the perimeter to steal second chance possessions.
2029 5-11 W Ellie Warren – Marist
Ellie’s game continues to evolve heading into her sophomore season. Warren has the size and skill to play 2-4. She scores out of ball screens, rolling to the rim for layups with either hand. Warren’s perceived physicality has up-ticked over the summer, more willing to mix it up in the paint as a rebounder and scoring presence. Ellie has clean footwork on the low block, scoring with up-and-under moves. Warren’s versatility leads to knockdown threes and the ability to secure rebounds and initiate fastbreaks on her own. Ellie’s well-rounded skill set is a mismatch for opponents.
2029 6-2 C Kandyce Hopkins – Sandy Creek
Hopkins has great size inside and is most effective in halfcourt situations. Kandyce has poise upon the catch with her back to the basket. She passes well out of the post, hitting Laker cuts and swinging the ball opposite to shooters. Continuing to quicken her feet will allow her to become an effective rim runner that can beat opponents down the floor for easy layups. Her defensive presence leads to multiple altered shots in the paint.
2029 5-9 SG Khloe Smith – Pace Academy
Svelte guard with lengthy height made a living knocking down threes from the corners. Listed at 5-foot-9, Smith has the tools to play both the two and the three. Her wingspan helped her defend and rebound.
2029 5-7 G Jelena Lapsley – Buford
Well-put-together guard is a natural athlete. Lapsley has a strong frame with an explosive first step. She looked good in the open court with her decision making, able to pass with either hand off the dribble. Has the traits to be an impactful defender in the full court press.
2029 5-10 F Samaiyah Florence – Woodward Academy
Long, springy forward is capable of playing inside and out. Has fluid handles as she snatches rebounds and starts fastbreaks. Attacks offensive rebounds for putbacks. Effective in the high post. Can guard all over the floor 1-5. Feels like a stat sheet stuffer.
2029 5-9 F Adesi Foster – Darlington
Rome transfer has wiry length. Quick off the ground to rebound. Stays on the backboards, earning second and third chances with putback prowess.
2029 5-4 PG Naomi Williams – Lowndes
Lefty hits open threes and is comfortable handling the point guard position. Showed creativity with the ball, able to make things happen downhill as a facilitator. Looked to attack both left and right off the dribble.
2029 5-11 W Imari Thompson – Luella
Physical wing creates contact on drives. Uses her strength to her advantage, able to carve out space when rebounding and is aggressive shooting gaps for steals. Scores with both hands at the rim and has growing three-point range. Well-rounded game with size and strength gives her the versatility to impact games inside and out from a variety of different positions. St. John’s, Robert Morris and Delaware State have offered.
2029 5-11 SG Alana DeWitt – Marietta
A multitude of D-I programs have already offered the big guard. DeWitt is a knockdown shooter off the catch. When her feet are set, she is highly efficient but has also added to her off the dribble game, mixing in sharp pull-up jumpers from the mid-range as well. With her size and sturdy frame, DeWitt has the physical tools to be able to positively impact games defensively as well as contribute points in the paint.
2029 5-4 G Parker Smith – Holy Innocents’
Parker made a name for herself on the big stage last year, almost rallying Holy Innocents’ for a come from behind state championship victory as she scored eight points including a personal 6-0 run to cut the deficit to one with under three minutes to play. Smith won’t ever be the focal point for the Bears, a team loaded with High Major prospects, but that doesn’t mean she’s not a very key cog of the machine. Parker is a good outside shooter with the clutch gene baked in. She has a sneaky good handle, able to go behind the back to evade pressure. Smith has upside as a combo-guard, reliable both on and off the ball. She competes on defense and is an under the radar prospect continuing to add to her game.
2029 5-10 W Ari McElrath – North Paulding
Good size with a combo-forward skill set, capable of playing on the wing or banging around the basket, McElrath is a new addition at North Paulding after starring at South Paulding. Ari knocked down corner threes at camp. She has the toughness to rebound and score in traffic on the block.
2029 5-7 G Ariel Brown – Campbell
Ariel has a feel for the game. Brown looked good with the ball in her hands, an attacking minded guard with speed, balance and strength. Ariel ran the point at camp, making things happen as a penetrator. She was able to drop off assists in tight spaces and utilized her overall energy to disrupt on defense.
