Donovan DeGourville2028 6-0 PG Donovan DeGourville – Sequoyah
Fresh off a morning workout, Donovan DeGourville set the pace for the Week 1, pouring in a league-high 28 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist and 4 steals in a 71-28 win over Chattahoochee. DeGourville’s stock continues to relentlessly rise. Donovan’s motor is infectious, the hard-playing guard a catalyst for the rest of the Chiefs. Even though he’s heavily relied upon to score, Donovan doesn’t take off plays on defense, consistently seen hustling for steals and using his athleticism to crash in for rebounds. DeGourville scores in bunches. There is an easy flow to his game. Even when it doesn’t feel like he’s severely hurting the opposition, you check the box score and see he’s got a cool 15-20 points. His jump shot makes him difficult to defend, especially with how he gets to his spots in rhythm. Donny drained four threes, two coming via pull-ups. He created in the mid-range with step-back jumpers and was active in transition. DeGourville’s work ethic and two-way consistency is going to start gaining college attention.

2027 5-8 PG Jackson Nunes – Chattahoochee
In what was a forgettable result on the scoreboard, I thought Jackson was a nice silver lining for Chattahoochee. He served as a reliable, veteran guard with savvy feel. Nunes manipulated defenders by shifting gears to penetrate. Jackson was tough enough to convert through fouls, scoring two And-1s on the day against Sequoyah. His floater in traffic was a real weapon as his aggressiveness toward the rim resulted in 5-6 shooting from the foul line. Jackson added a three-pointer to his ledger as well, finishing with 12 points, 1 rebound, 3 assists and 1 steal.

Solomon Bratton2027 6-8 F Solomon Bratton – Milton
Tied at 30 at the half with St. Francis, Solomon Bratton took over the ensuing 20 minutes to run away with a 65-43 win. Bratton exploded for 15 points in the second half, finishing with 17 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal and 1 block. Solomon is one of the hottest prospects in Georgia, earning a slew of offers this summer from all ranges of D-I schools from High Major to Mid-Major and below.  At 6-foot-8, Bratton has immense value with his versatility. Niko not only has springy bounce; he pairs it with a high effort tenacity. His skill set covers all areas of the game. He netted a three off the dribble, scored on two putbacks, had three coast-to-coast drives and in total, threw down three dunks. Solomon led the break as both a scorer and facilitator, impressing with his playmaking for his size. The All-State forward is one of the very best frontcourt players the state of Georgia has to offer.

2027 6-3 G Tate Golden – Milton
A recent North Georgia-commit, Tate Golden went for 12 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals in a win over St. Francis. Golden has good size on the perimeter along with a diverse high IQ game. He’s tough toward the rim as he embraces contact to score with either hand and is also a lethal three-point shooter off the catch. With quality size on the perimeter, Golden doesn’t let it go to waste as he aggressively pursues rebounds to limit second chance opportunities. Tate’s effectiveness and steady production are hallmarks of his game.

Landon Evans2028 6-6 F Landon Evans – St. Francis
Known for his physical play and explosive rim rattling slams, Landon’s three-point shot continues to be a game-changing weapon as he can truly score from all three levels. Evans splashed four threes off the catch against Milton while adding a short pull-up jumper in the lane and a drive to the rim, part of his game-high 19 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal. The powerful tweener creates mismatches routinely. His gritty effort is often times overwhelming for the opposition.

2027 6-6 W Jaylen Samuel – St. Francis
Jaylen was on fire in the first half, all of his 14 points coming during the opening 20 minutes to couple with his 7 rebounds and 1 assist. Samuel’s upside was on full display, scoring in a variety of ways with a hunter’s mentality. He made Milton pay in transition, converting an And-1 for his first hoop of the game. I liked what I saw from Samuel in the post, scoring inside with his back to the basket while utilizing crafty footwork when he attacked from the wing, using a step-through move with his right hand on the left side to score another pretty And-1. Samuel’s last bucket came on a smooth catch-and-shoot three. Jaylen’s got tremendous tools to flourish at the next level.

Armin Kapic2027 6-9 F Armin Kapic – Alpharetta Mustangs
D-I and D-II programs will want to evaluate Armin Kapic. The Austrian point-forward has robust skill and a physical frame to boot. Against the Titans, Kapic did damage in the high post as both a scorer and distributor. He’s strong with the ball, using his body to score on takes to the rim. His handle is impressive for his size as well, able to get past smaller on-ball defenders. Kapic is a confident three-point shooter. On Sunday, he netted a mid-range jumper and scored a tough And-1 drive with his right hand on the left side. Kapic posted 7 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals and 3 blocks.

Luke Turney2027 6-2 G Luke Turney – Alpharetta Mustangs
The lanky lefty impacted the Mustangs’ 47-32 win over the Titans in a multitude of ways, collecting 15 points, 2 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals.  Luke’s sneaky shifty with the ball, able to slither to the rim where he excelled on Sunday at scoring with his right hand. Turney’s got a bit of a unique release on his jump shot but he’s accurate, sinking two threes. With his wingspan and activity level, Luke’s a steady contributor on both ends.

2029 6-2 G Olu Oloni – Titans
I appreciated how active Olu was in a loss to the Alpharetta Mustangs. The wiry guard frequently found himself involved in plays, using his lanky reach to disrupt. Oloni is a solid rebounder for his size. I think he could end up being an above average perimeter defender. Offensively, all his points came in the paint scoring on a short pull-up in the lane, a transition hoop and a putback, finishing with 6 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals and 1 block.
