ATL SummerSlam: Underclassmen Top Performers

T'Maria Jones-Scarborough2026 5-2 PG T’Maria Jones-Scarborough – Porter Sports West GA – Carrollton
The next D-I guard out of Carrollton is T’Maria Jones-Scarborough. The rising eighth grader could start varsity for the vast majority of teams across Georgia. Jones-Scarborough plays with an elite motor. She flies all over the floor, swooping in for rebounds, steals and even blocks. She has an elite handle for her age, able to manipulate the defense and create separation. T’Maria can drill threes in bunches. She scores off the bounce and can hit step-back threes from well beyond the arc. Jones-Scarborough sets the pace with her speed. She’s first to every loose ball. T’Maria has a good feel and understands what it means to be a point guard. She poured in 17 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, 6 steals and 2 blocks, hitting 3 threes and going 6-7 from the line in the process. Carrollton is not going anywhere anytime soon.

Riley Black2024 5-8 W Riley Black – DL Impact – Chestatee
You can play Riley Black anywhere on the floor, 1-5, and she will find a way to be productive. Black is positionless at times. She’s tough enough to battle inside for rebounds and play bigger than her size, but she is also nimble enough to play on the perimeter and make plays off the dribble. She has good footwork when attacking the rim and can help handle vs. pressure. Riley plays hard with a great nose for the ball. I see a little bit of Emmanuel-signee Maddie Futch in her game.

2024 6-0 F Grace Ridley – TN Flight Trotters Haworth – Dalton
Dalton has a really good one in Grace Ridley. Playing up with TN Flight Trotters Haworth will end up being an invaluable experience. The Trotters went 4-0, beating Atlanta Cagers BlueChip Myers 45-39 in the championship where Ridley contributed 5 points and 5 rebounds. Ridley has good size and quick feet. She grabs rebounds at their highest point and finishes strong around the rim. The stretchy-forward can make plays off the dribble and has a eurostep downhill. I like Ridley’s skill level and her knowledge of the game. She will be on college radars soon.

2024 6-2 C Brianna Pelote – Fernwood Falcons – Woodville-Savannah
Up from Savannah, I really liked what I saw out of Brianna Pelote. She’s a big post presence with very good length. Pelote has quality footwork, able to drive and spin baseline. Brianna is willing to shoot from the perimeter. Defensively, Pelote is a strong rebounder that can also block shots inside. Only a sophomore, I think Pelote could draw some serious attention come senior season.

2024 5-8 G Jayden Boykin – FBC Blazers Black – Heard County
The athleticism of Jayden Boykin stands out. She has strong legs that help her elevate for finishes and rebounds. She’s quick downhill but can also shoot the three when left open. Boykin is a versatile player that can play multiple positions. Her strength and bounciness allow her cause mismatches across the floor.
