Region 7-3A Semifinals Top Performers

2023 6-1 G Jadon Yeh – White County
There’s no denying just how good Jadon Yeh is. He may not be 6-foot-5 but Yeh checks all the boxes coaches look for when it comes to skill set. I’ve become a broken record when describing Yeh’s game, but it bares repeating, just how smooth he is with the ball. Yeh is such a crafty slasher with decisive footwork. He’s a great finisher, hanging in the air and putting English on his layups to score without getting blocked. Yeh is a flurry in the open court, evading defenders with spin moves and creative dribbles. His three-level scoring is impressive but where he doesn’t get enough credit is his athleticism and defense. Yeh is springy on his feet, quick to change directions and pounce on errant passes. He meets opponents at the rim, blocking shots without fouling. Jadon is a complete player and his stat line shows it. The Region 7-3A Player of the Year recorded 29 points, 6 rebounds 4 assists, 5 steals and 3 blocks in a semifinal win over East Forsyth scoring 15 points in the second half as the Warriors turned a 37-33 halftime lead into a 72-45 rout. Yeh should be a serious option for D-I programs if they are looking for a polished high IQ guard that can contribute in a variety of ways.

2024 6-5 PF Noah Futch – White County
Against an East Forsyth team void of size, Noah Futch served as the garbage man, cleaning up misses and scoring on dump off passes inside. Futch didn’t do anything flashy and played within himself, finishing effectively around the rim. Futch crashed the offensive glass hard understanding the advantage he had. Whenever Noah got the ball inside, he was able to square himself and use his shoulders to power through smaller defenders and finish with ease. He collected 16 points 12 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal.

2023 6-1 G Sam Gailey – North Hall
Sam Gailey is the emotional leader for North Hall. He is a fiery competitor that won’t back down from a conversation on the floor. He’s a solid scorer that can shoot the three but is also a tough slasher that slices his way to the rim and finishes in traffic. Part of a strong core of guards, Gailey sets the tone. He finished with 14 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists and 4 steals in an 84-74 win over Gilmer.

2022 6-5 F Robert Terry – North Hall
Strong and bouncy, Robert Terry is a man’s man in the paint. He’s a tough-nosed forward that elevates off the ground quickly to secure rebounds. Terry uses his strength to muscle through opponents and finish through fouls. Terry plays with a focused demeanor. He lets his game do the talking for him as he remains even-keeled. Robert posted 18 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals and 1 block. D-III programs should gauge Terry’s interest level.

2022 6-2 W Elijah Gaddy – North Hall
I liked the athletic lefty back in October at the North Georgia Report Fall League for his ability to get to the rim. On Saturday, he brought that same leaping ability and a reliable motor as he piled in 15 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals. Gaddy thrived in the open floor, taking off and gliding to the rim. He scored on four And-1 opportunities as Gilmer failed to keep the high flyer grounded. Gaddy has tools to work with at the next level as a potential 2/3 at a small school.

2023 5-10 G Bryce Bracco – East Forsyth
Bryce Bracco knows where his strengths lay. He is a lethal three-point marksman that can pull off the catch or off the dribble. He drained five threes en route to 15 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal and 1 block. Bracco plays with confidence and isn’t shy about letting defenders know when he splashes a three in their face. He will need to improve on handling pressure as he got caught using his off arm a little too much, but Bracco’s outside shooting is certainly a priority for defenses to stop.

2022 6-6 PF Cade Carter – Gilmer
There’s something about Cade Carter’ game that I like. He moves a bit unorthodox at time, but he has quality footwork in the low post and knows how to score inside. He takes long strides with his up-and-under and will extend the ball far from his body to try and get defenders to bite. Carter has some bounce in his step and can elevate to finish over defenders when he has position in the paint. He’s an effective rebounder and alters shots inside. He posted 15 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist, 3 steals and 2 blocks. The All-Region selection could be a serious option for smaller schools.

2025 6-8 C Jackson McVey – Gilmer
At roughly 6-foot-8 and only a freshman, Jackson McVey has real upside over the next three years. McVey has good coordination and is very active in the paint. He long arms rebounds and earns second chance opportunities. He scored on four putbacks, a hook shot and a high-low feed on his way to 16 points, 11 rebounds, 2 steals and 4 blocks. McVey is young, but he does everything you could ask for out of a high school big man – freshman or senior. He converts around the rim, rebounds and blocks shots. McVey is a long-term project. It will be very interesting to see how he develops. You can’t teach height and McVey has plenty of it along with some other nice intangibles.
