Danielle Carnegie2024 5-9 PG Danielle Carnegie – Supreme Team – Grayson
Each time I watch Carnegie play, it gets harder and harder to declare anyone but Danielle as the best player in Georgia. The game moves at a snail’s pace for the blue-chip prospect. The way Carnegie is able to identify plays before they unfold leads to easy pick-off interceptions on defense and brilliant facilitating on offense. Danielle does it all. A three-level scorer that doesn’t slack on defense. I’ve seen Carnegie defend posts and deny entries to larger players. There isn’t anything that Danielle doesn’t do at a high level. In a 68-38 win over Southeast United Gold, she poured in 16 points, 1 rebound, 5 assists and 6 steals. Danielle Carnegie, who revealed her Top 5 of Georgia Tech, Florida State, Kentucky, Alabama and Louisville 10 days ago, is the definition of elite. Her offseason move to Grayson immediately makes the Rams the favorite to win the state title in Class 7A once Erin Rodgers returns from her ACL tear.

Marina Sippola2024 5-8 G Marina Sippola – NME – North Paulding
Marina has sprung up D-III recruiting boards this offseason and is knocking on the door of securing her first offer. A strong showing at War Games further helped her stock-rising summer, netting 11 threes over her three games with NME, averaging 15.7 points per game. Sippola closed out War Games with 15 points, 2 rebounds and 2 assists in a 46-44 win over Palmetto 76ers Select, sinking three three-pointers in the second half. Marina ignited her scoring in the first half, dropping in a pair of floaters. Sippola’s consistent three-point range and her subtle ability to positively impact games away from scoring is starting to pay off.

Sa'Mya Wyatt2024 6-1 PF Sa’Mya Wyatt – Supreme Team – St. Francis
The efficiency of which Sa’Mya Wyatt is able to score is noteworthy. Wyatt gets her work done early, running the floor to get prime post position. Sa’Mya is adept at scoring through contact and shoots very well from 15-feet and in. Wyatt’s soft touch is most on display with her post turnarounds. The physicality and size of Sa’Mya allows her to pound opponents on the glass. She recorded 17 points and 4 rebounds in a rout of Southeast United Gold. Mid-Major programs should be all in on the reigning Class A D-I Player of the Year.

Kameron Herring2025 6-0 SG Kameron Herring – FBC Bouncenation Jay 17U – Woodward Academy
Kameron Herring has thrived this offseason, swimming in D-I offers. She may drown in them after her opening 10 minutes against Team Melo MD23 on Friday, an absurd start to the game which saw Herring drill four deep threes in a blink which sprung Bouncenation to an easy 61-33 win. Herring finished with 16 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals. Her length, range and ability to create offense on the perimeter coupled with her defensive versatility give Kameron a sky-high ceiling. Even more of a breakout season is forthcoming.

Poetrie Dace2025 5-10 W Poetrie Dace – FBC Bouncenation Jay 16U – Riverdale
Hidden in obscurity at Riverdale, Poetrie Dace took full advantage of the War Games stage this past week showcasing her motor and nose for the ball. The wiry combo-forward is relentless tracking down rebounds. She’s springs off the floor to rebound in traffic and runs the court well in transition. Her activity doesn’t end in the paint. Dace is a nuisance atop the press with her wingspan and quick instincts. Poetrie is a valuable defender inside and out that can cover a lot of ground. On offense, Dace flashed a respectable outside shot, knocking down an elbow jumper and a corner three. She finished with 17 points, 14 rebounds, 4 steals and 1 block in a signature 59-53 win over FBC Legacy. Fort Valley State has already offered. Expect more schools to jump in over the next two years.

Amelia Basit2025 6-1 F Amelia Basit – FBC NextUp Red – St. Francis
After an injury zapped her of her sophomore season, Amelia Basit looks ready to make an impact on the varsity level and climb onto college radars. The daughter of Lakeside-DeKalb Head Coach Jamal Basit, Amelia is an intriguing prospect with her size and skill. She is a threat to clear rebounds and push the ball in transition. In the half court, Basit is a load to keep off the offensive glass and can score on post touches with a hook shot. In a 61-35 win over SEU Josey, Basit recorded 10 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal and 2 blocks. Amelia has a D-I upside.

Marlene Mbilima2026 6-3 C Marlene Mbilima – FBC Legacy 15U – Athens Christian
Marlene is steadily improving. Four months removed from when I last saw her, Mbilima’s growth is undeniable. Marlene’s court awareness has improved. She looks much more confident on the floor and shows a willingness to expand her game, attacking more off the dribble and shooting from the perimeter with more comfortability.  Mbilima’s footwork is noticeably better. She now likes to use spin moves to get to a short fadeaway in the lane. Against TN Trotters Maples, she used step throughs and up-and-unders to score inside. Marlene finished with 17 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists in a 55-52 overtime loss. There is reason to be excited about Marlene’s future. While she hasn’t yet scratched the surface of her potential, Mbilima surely is moving in the right direction at a prompt pace.

Ellison Steinhauer2026 5-9 G Ellison Steinhauer – Georgia Flames – Pickens
I’m starting to think that a D-I scholarship is obtainable for Ellison Steinhauer. Her intangibles, IQ and influence on games can’t be understated. Ellison has a knack for finding ways to slip through the defense to get to the rim from all angles where she scores through contact with both hands. Steinhauer is an efficient three-point shooter. She finds the open man off the dribble and uses her wiry length to rack up deflections and rebounds. In a 61-54 loss to WNC Royals 2024, Steinhauer powered in 22 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and 1 block. Ellison is quickly emerging as one of – if not the – best young players in north Georgia.

Annarose Tyre2025 5-8 PG Annarose Tyre – Georgia Flames – Lambert
Annarose is fun to watch. It primarily starts with her shifty quickness and footwork. She loves to slice her way to the hoop. Once she gets downhill, Tyre’s signature moves are to pass fake and go up for a layup or stop to play off two feet and use an up-and-under step through move to score after getting defenders to fly by. You can count on Annarose to take a couple hard spills during the game as she attacks the basket with such vigor, often taking multiple trips to the foul line. Tyre went 6-8 from the line and sank a pair of threes to finish with 16 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals against WNC Royals.

2026 5-6 PG Tori Ambroselli – Supreme Team 16U – Centennial
D-I programs may want to start tracking Victoria Ambroselli. Now standing 5-foot-6, Tori’s growth will help her be even more effective in the backcourt. The Class 5A Freshman of the Year can put the ball in the basket, averaging 16.4 points per game her rookie season. Playing up at War Games with 16U Supreme Team, Tori was the engine in a 59-51 win providing 8 points, 3 rebounds, 6 assists and 1 steal. Ambroselli has elusive quickness with the ball and can shoot the three off the dribble with a beautiful stroke. Tori netted a pair of long balls on Friday and used her speed to breakdown the defense and set up teammates.

Devin Furgess2027 5-1 PG Devin Furgess – FBC Legacy 15U – New Manchester
Devin Furgess is a scorer. The diminutive dynamo can pile in points from the perimeter. She excels at getting to her pull-up jumper and lights it up from beyond the arc. Devin can score inside the arc with her floater and likes to beat defenses before they set up by stopping and popping in transition. Furgess hit three mid-range jumpers and a pair of threes on her way to totaling 16 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal against TN Trotters Maples. Furgess will be an important piece her freshman year as a floor stretcher that can get a bucket by herself, helping take a load off of Jocelyn Faison, Amaya Broadus and Andrea Guilford when healthy.

Avynn Kniceley2027 5-5 PG Avynn Kniceley – Atlanta Cagers – South Forsyth
Much like older sister Jadyn, Avynn is a scrappy hustler that gets on the floor and serves as an Energizer Bunny for her team. Kniceley is a good rebounder that crashes in to save possessions. Avynn tipped off War Games with 6 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists, 5 steals and 1 block in a 47-28 win over FBC Hawks Untamed. Often one of the smallest players on the floor, Avynn’s got a lot of heart and leaves it all on the floor.

Ella Rainwater2027 5-4 PG Ella Rainwater – Atlanta Cagers – Buford
Ella may be on the shorter side, but she has a strong frame and a polished game to boot. Rainwater can open the skies with her three-point shot and uses a teardrop floater when attacking the rim. Ella can also score through contact when completing drives and is a plucky rebounder that sticks her nose into the action where larger players often roam. Ella put up 12 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist and 4 steals against FBC Hawks Untamed, helping turn a one-point halftime deficit into a 19-point victory.
