2025 5-10 F Gianna Brown – New Hampstead
A standout flag football player, Gianna brought her athleticism and aggressiveness to the hardwood in a dominant 49-13 win over Southeast Bulloch. Brown overwhelmed the Yellow Jackets with 33 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist and 5 steals in three quarters of play. The Phoenix dumped the ball inside every chance they got. Gianna used her physicality and showed patience when scoring with her back to the basket, utilizing drop steps to finish over her left shoulder. Brown liked to back her man down and spin to the middle for points. Developing a left hand will help with her efficiency on that side of the court. I liked how Gianna was able to use her body to get into position for offensive rebounds, scoring on a pair of putbacks. Brown moves well. She ran the floor for easy hoops and showcased quality footspeed as a defender, playing atop the 1-3-1. Gianna did a nice job guarding the ball, sliding side to side without reaching in for silly fouls. While 0-12 Southeast Bulloch wasn’t the best barometer to judge on, I feel like Brown does have some interesting physical tools and interior skill that could draw the attention of small schools. Another year of development will be very good for Gianna.

2024 5-2 PG Le’Ryah Bryant – Johnson-Savannah
Blinding speed. That is the name of the game for Le’Ryah Bryant. The Atomsmashers overwhelmed Long County with their transition scoring, pouring on a 60-22 rout. Aside from one corner three, all of Bryant’s points came at the rim. The little lefty thrived at getting to her scooping layups and in the process was able to score through contact, converting two And-1s. Bryant utilized her floater throughout the game. Le’Ryah finished with a game-high 22 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists and 4 steals.

2024 5-9 F Destiny Washington – Johnson-Savannah
Destiny was a defensive stalwart that completely eliminated any offense in the paint for Long County. She holds some versatility defensively with her length and athleticism. Washington did a great job walling up to swallow up shots.  Destiny has to limit distractions and her volatile emotions in order to reach her potential. Washington collected 7 points, 11 rebounds, 1 assist, 3 steals and 8 blocks.

2024 6-0 C Amayah Hamilton – Johnson-Savannah
Schools may want to touch base with Amayah Hamilton. The physical post has an interesting skill set. While she is powerful and takes up space, Hamilton is a nice athlete with nimble feet and a quality basketball IQ. She sees the floor and passes well off the dribble. Amayah is rugged inside throwing her weight around, gobbling up rebounds and scoring through defenders. With her subtle quickness and passing ability, Hamilton doesn’t have to be exclusively used on the block, she can be an effective high post option as well. Amayah accounted for 8 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal and 1 block in the blowout win.

2024 5-5 G Imani Pouncey – Long County
Imani scored on a backdoor cut and went 3-6 from the foul line. Her jump shot had good form. She did a nice job rebounding for the undersized Blue Tide and accounted for half of Long County’s offense via scoring and assisting. Pouncey produced 5 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists.

2026 6-1 C Arianna Hill – Toombs County
In a blowout loss to Dublin, Arianna Hill flashed her high upside by sinking three three-pointers and a floater on her way to finishing with 20 of her team’s 30 points. Hill has great size and an intriguing skill set. She is forced to play on the perimeter with Toombs County’s lack of ball handlers, asked to help break the press and move the ball around up top before any errant passes. Hill has shown me in the past the ability to score with her back to the basket. While it is still early on in her career, I feel like the 3.9 GPA student has a chance to blossom into a legitimate college prospect. If Hill continues to improve her game and gets more help around her to help showcase her best skills, Arianna could emerge as a valuable sleeper.

2024 5-11 F Nahallie Turnley – Dublin
Played point guard, bringing the ball up the floor. Good rebounder when she is in the paint, using her body to clear space. Needs to develop a left hand. Moves well for her size, able to get downhill from the wing. Has enough ball skills to grab and go, a coast-to-coast attacker in the full court. South Carolina State, Fort Lauderdale and Albany Tech have all offered.

2025 6-0 C Lyric Green – Dodge County
The overpowering post presence bullied her way to 20 points, 15 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocks in a 54-38 blowout of East Laurens, up 49-19 after three quarters following a 29-0 run that buried the Falcons after an early 4-0 deficit. Lyric scored on five putbacks and converted three And-1s. Green went 2-5 from the foul line. Her size and physicality on the glass can’t be matched at the Class 2A level. She stays anchored on the block and pounds away for the full 32 minutes. Defensively, I liked how she was able to move laterally to cut off the baseline whenever East Laurens tried to drive against Dodge County’s 1-2-2 zone. I would like to see Lyric develop some more back to the basket post moves. She showed a drop step middle into a hook shot, a move that could become effective with reps. Green exploded last June at the GBCA and saw offers pour in from Bethune-Cookman, Appalachian State, Jacksonville State and South Alabama. If inserted into a college game today, Lyric would be one of the strongest players on the floor. Her physicality will carry her a long way.

2025 5-2 G McKayela Tanner – East Laurens
Kayela was East Laurens’ primary source of offense, netting 21 points in the second half, scoring her buckets almost exclusively in transition. The little lefty is a good athlete equipped with quickness. She picks off passes and is tough to catch in fastbreaks. While her outside shot wasn’t falling, Tanner does have nice form on her jumper and was able to drop in a pair of floaters.  McKayela finished with a game-high 24 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists and 8 steals.
