Holiday Hoopsgiving, On the Rader Thanksgiving Showcase, Jared Cook Classic, Hard in the Paint and more helped shape the rankings with Top 10 bouts throughout Thanksgiving Break.

Class 6A No. 1 Wheeler topped No. 3 McEachern 68-59 after the Indians had scored big wins over last week’s Class 5A No. 3 Woodward Academy 91-56 and Class 4A No. 8 ELCA 83-58. No. 4 Hillgrove climbs a spot with a signature week featuring wins over last week’s Class 5A No. 4 Decatur 61-48, No. 1 Tri-Cities 61-49 and Class 4A No. 3 Pace Academy 62-60. No. 7 Meadowcreek is up three spaces with wins against Hazel Green, AL 55-50 and Mae Jemison, AL 67-65 at Holiday Hoopsgiving before falling to Class 3A-1A Private No. 1 Holy Innocents’ 55-40. No. 8 Westlake lost 74-67 to Class 4A No. 2 Jonesboro while No. 9 Cherokee lost 65-64 to Class 5A No. 7 Milton and No. 10 Buford, down four spots, was beaten in the Jackson EMC Tip-Off Classic Championship 86-70 by Lanier as the Wolves await the return of their football players.

There is a new number one in Class 5A as No. 1 Gainesville rises four spots after beating No. 4 Dutchtown 69-67 and escaping No. 6 Woodward Academy 52-51. Dutchtown bounced back with a 67-51 win over Class 4A No. 2 Jonesboro while Woodward Academy went 0-3 with losses to Class 6A No. 3 McEachern 91-56 and Columbus, FL 89-63. No. 2 Alexander survived Class 3A No. 3 Cedar Grove 88-87. No. 3 Tri-Cities sinks two spots after losing 61-49 to Class 6A No. 4 Hillgrove and beating Class 4A No. 9 ELCA 66-48. No. 5 Decatur fell 61-48 to Class 6A No. 4 Hillgrove but beat No. 7 Milton 65-55 after the Eagles had earned a 65-64 win over Class 6A No. 9 Cherokee at the Jared Cook Classic. No. 10 Houston County edged Class A D-I No. 1 Putnam County 65-64 at the HypeSouth Hardwood Invitational.

Class 4A No. 1 North Oconee suffered a 59-57 loss to Queen’s Grant, NC at Holiday Hoopsgiving. No. 2 Jonesboro beat last week’s Class 6A No. 7 Westlake 74-67 but lost 67-51 to Class 5A No. 4 Dutchtown at Hard in the Paint.  No. 3 Pace Academy is still in search of their first win, losing two heartbreakers, beat 53-52 at Private No. 1 Holy Innocents’ at the buzzer and 62-60 to Class 6A No. 4 Hillgrove. No. 5 Southwest DeKalb lost 62-45 to Private No. 6 Greenforest at the William Dale Burns Classic in the Bahamas. No. 9 ELCA lost 83-58 to Class 6A No. 3 McEachern and 66-48 to last week’s Class 5A No. 1 Tri-Cities. No. 10 Marist suffered a 65-49 loss to Private No. 3 Mt. Vernon.

In Class 3A, No. 3 Cedar Grove lost to Class 5A No. 2 Alexander 88-87 and Private No. 1 Holy Innocents’ 63-48. No. 5 Harlem knocked off Class A D-I No. 2 Southwest-Macon 64-56 but fell to Private No. 2 Walker 64-55. Up three spots is No. 7 Baldwin who defeated Class A D-I No. 1 Putnam County 64-63 on the road. Troup County (2-2) exits the poll with a pair of out-of-state losses at the Cam Sports Classic. No. 10 Lumpkin County debuts fresh off a 69-39 win against Walnut Grove.

Class 2A No. 1 Columbia defeated last week’s Private No. 7 Paideia 83-71. Hart County (0-1) drops out of the rankings after a 69-66 loss to Madison County. No. 10 Salem breaks into the Top 10 with a 52-48 win against Eastside.

The top two teams in Class A D-I lost multiple times this past week but remain in place. No. 1 Putnam County lost by a total of two points, beat by Class 3A No. 7 Baldwin 64-63 and Class 5A No. 10 Houston County 65-64. No. 2 Southwest-Macon lost to Peachtree Ridge 65-63 and Class 3A No. 5 Harlem 64-56 before outlasting Monroe in overtime 80-74 at the HypeSouth Hardwood Invitational. No. 8 Toombs County lost 48-39 to Class A D-II No. 6 Turner County to sinks four spots. Towers (0-6) lost to Flowery Branch 82-64 and Oconee County 59-49 to complete an 0-3 showing at the Jackson EMC Tip-Off Classic, freefalling their way out of the Top 10. No. 9 Model debuts fresh off a 71-40 win against Creekside Christian at the Truett McConnell ProSports Showcase.

Class A D-II is slowly starting to get underway. No. 5 Macon County won at Chestatee 73-54, No. 6 Turner County upset last week’s Class A D-I No. 4 Toombs County 48-39 at the Hugh McBride Tip-Off Classic and No. 7 Hancock Central won at Washington County 54-53. Towns County (2-4) drops from the poll, replaced by No. 8 Bowdon who is 3-0 after crushing Lithia Springs 75-33 on the road.

Class 3A-1A Private No. 1 Holy Innocents’ continues to rack up impressive wins. The Golden Bears beat Class 4A No. 3 Pace Academy 53-52 as Jaden McCullough hit a three at the buzzer. Holy Innocents’ closed their week with wins against Class 6A No. 7 Meadowcreek 55-40 and Class 3A No. 3 Cedar Grove 63-48. No. 2 Walker took down Class 3A No. 5 Harlem 64-55 while No. 3 Mt. Vernon beat Class 4A No. 10 Marist 65-49. No. 6 Greenforest beat Class 4A No. 5 Southwest DeKalb 62-45 at the William Dale Burns Classic in the Bahamas. No. 7 Hebron Christian moves up with a 68-52 win against South Gwinnett. No. 10 Paideia is down three spots, barely clinging onto their spot after an 0-4 week against national competition puts the Pythons at 1-7.
