Lyric Watson2028 5-9 G Lyric Watson – Wood Elite E40 – Kell
I am full on buying stock in Lyric Watson. I’ve been incredibly impressed with her over the past two months coming off high school ball and now in a more featured role with Wood Elite E40. I love how hard she plays. Lyric is a true two-way standout. Watson is a defensive ace who hounds opposing ball handlers on the perimeter, protects the rim with her length and athleticism inside and is a ballhawk away from the ball, always ready to pounce on errant passes. Lyric has superb instincts to go along with her aggressive motor. Routinely she is able to fill up stat sheets with her hustle but it isn’t just natural gifts that allow her to make an impact; her offensive skill has rapidly improved over her first two seasons. Watson is a dangerous three-point shooter especially from the corners. And if she gets closed out on too hard, she is able to easily blow past defenders for layups. Playing up in 17U, against Redline Davis she accounted for 10 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 5 steals and 4 blocks with two made threes. She followed up against Porter Sports hitting two more threes to finish with 20 points, 7 rebounds, 2 steals and 1 block. I think D-I offers are on the doorstep for Watson. Don’t be surprised if she finishes the summer with a bid.

Kenzie Hinkson2028 5-7 PG Kenzie Hinkson – Wood Elite E40 – North Paulding
Hinkson continues to separate herself from other point guards in Georgia’s 2028 class. The decorated playmaker captured her first state title this season and has kept the momentum rolling into the summer. Thin and baby-faced, Hinkson might not physically look like it at first glance but the D-I recruit has a true killer mentality on the floor. Kenzie has ice water in her veins when it comes to hitting big shots and is used to having a target on her back with how hard she plays, getting under the skin of the opposition at times. Hinkson is a three-level scorer, a lethal three-point shooter with sly wiggle downhill where she craftily finishes in traffic. She’s tenacious in the full court press with her active hands ripping away steals. When games are tight in crunch time, Kenzie doesn’t shy away from the moment and usually delivers decisive blows. Playing in 17U, against Redline Davis she rounded up 16 points, 2 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals with two three-pointers. In a narrow 72-69 loss to Porter Sports, Hinkson recorded 18 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals with a pair of threes. Multiple D-I programs have begun to circle around Hinkson with West Georgia offering last June and the previous Jacksonville State staff in 2024. Hinkson’s competitiveness and clutch gene should catch plenty of eyes this June.

Ansley Dunn
2028 5-4 PG Ansley Dunn – Wood Elite Clark – Cherokee
One of the most enjoyable players to watch in the state, Ansley Dunn continues to make believers out of her miniscule frame. What she lacks in height she makes up for in physical strength, skill, IQ and heart. Dunn keeps the ball on a string as she expertly manipulates defenses. She scores the ball at all levels, quick to stop on a dime from the mid-range, dangerous from well beyond the arc and extremely crafty with how she’s able to finish at the rim using her body to draw contact to get to the foul line. Dunn’s body which can be viewed by the ill-informed as a deterrent is actually one of her greatest assets. Ansley masterfully understands how to protect the ball with her body using backdowns against pressure before spinning off defenders to create offense downhill. Her throwback handle is often times more effective than today’s common guard who instead likes to face defenders and dance in place with endless strings of combo dribbles which get them nowhere. Aside from Ansley’s stranglehold of the offense, her grasp on defense is equally as suffocating. Dunn does a great job sitting on opposing ball handlers’ dominant hand, making them uncomfortable as she forces them to their weak side. While guarding on ball, Ansley has swift hands that swipe away steals. With more and more eyes starting to gravitate around her play, Dunn continues to march toward more offers. She nabbed a Southeast Missouri State offer in December to mark her first D-I bid to go along with a D-II offer from Shorter back in June of 2025.

2028 5-8 G Emery Silvers – Wood Elite Clark – Dalton
Emery maybe gets a little overlooked when it comes to her offensive production during school ball playing alongside such a talent like Aubriyana Camp, but Silvers is more than capable of packing a punch and can positively influence games aside from just scoring. Silvers can play both on and off the ball. Emery loves penetrating, showing a knack for being able to slice her way to the rim. When she gets downhill, Silvers can finish with either hand but is also a threat to drop off assists whether to the block or to shooters in the corners. Emery has a well-rounded skill set equipped with a motor that runs hot on both ends of the floor. With her mobility and length in the backcourt, Silvers is a disruptive defender capable of guarding 1-3. Emery is trending up, inline for two highly productive seasons to close out her high school career. Expect Silvers to become a popular name amongst D-II, D-III and NAIA levels.
