2029 5-7 PG Zoe Williams – Team Elite Hubbard 17U – Marietta
In my first true sit-down watching Zoe Williams, I came away impressed with her poise and polish. Team Elite Hubbard held off HER Elite EYBL 62-58 in overtime. Playing up in 17U, the rising sophomore had her fingerprints all over the victory scoring 12 points after halftime to erase a 33-25 deficit. Zoe is a savvy playmaker with a mature feel. She did a great job handling immense pressure. I liked how she balanced her facilitating with her own offense. She got hot in the second half knocking down floaters and threes, doing so without forcing any bad shots. In total, Zoe finished with 15 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 steal. The D-I recruit has nabbed offers from Mississippi State and most recently Liberty this offseason.
2029 5-7 G Taliyah Weaver – Wood Elite – Buford
Taliyah made a lasting first impression in a 50-46 win over Team Elite Hubbard as she racked up 6 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals. Weaver fits Buford’s up-tempo attacking full court press. Taliyah is quick sideline-to-sideline and plays with an unselfish demeanor looking to get others involved more than finding her own points. I was impressed with Weaver’s drive-and-kick game, a key piece in helping Wood Elite drill 11 threes. Taliyah herself sank a pull-up three and added a left-handed And-1 drive to round out her scoring. Weaver has a good future ahead. I’ll be interested to follow her development over the next three seasons.

2029 5-10 W Ellie Warren – Team Elite Hubbard – Marist
The offensive firepower of Ellie Warren will force her into more consistent minutes in Year 2 at Marist. Warren’s already begun to add new dimensions to her game. Her body is starting to fill out, giving her more physical maturity to more effectively use her length in the paint. While her jump shot is her primary weapon and has a chance to grade out Ellie as one of the best snipers in Georgia, finding easy hoops around the rim will take a load off her perimeter pressure and will help diversify her game. Warren had a strong showing against Wood Elite, getting on the glass for a pair of putbacks with her left hand. In fact, she scored thrice with her off-hand as she got to the rim on a drive. The offensive production will always be Ellie’s calling card, but her impact as a defender is starting to grow as well which will be the determining factor on how many minutes she gets at Marist, a program founded upon defensive structure. Warren posted 14 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 blocks in a 50-46 loss. She bounced back with a seven-three performance on Sunday morning. Warren is trending up.
2029 5-6 PG Harlow Kendrix – Team Elite Hubbard – Carrollton
Harlow didn’t play massive minutes in Year 1 at Carrollton but she looks ready to take on a substantial role in Year 2 after seeing key guards in front of her graduate. Kendrix has played with a ton of confidence this offseason which in turn has led to consistent results. A full season in the weight room has helped reshape her body, giving her trademark Trojan strength which has helped her attack the basket. Harlow plays with pace, good at finishing with her left hand but most dangerous when facilitating with zippy assists out to shooters. Against Wood Elite, Harlow had 10 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals. Kendrix is next in a long line of tough college point guards to come out of Carrollton.
2029 6-4 C Ava Anthony – HER Elite EYBL – Whitefield Academy
You can’t teach size and Ava has plenty of it. The 6-foot-4 rising sophomore averaged 10.3 points and 7.8 rebounds in Year 1 at Whitefield Academy. A state qualifier in the discus, Anthony uses her strength to get deep post position. While at first glance she looks like she could be a lumbering post presence, Ava is actually quick in short bursts, able to make decisive moves inside. Anthony was used in the high post at times against Wood Elite, catching and turning to face before making sharp passes. Ava had 9 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocks in a five-point win.
