2030 5-10 F Bryleigh Pittmon – Jackson County
Opposing coaches, members of media and even college programs are starting to take notice of Bryleigh Pittmon. The numbers don’t lie. Pittmon was among the most productive freshmen in attendance at GBCA Live. In Game 1 against Parkview she finished with 12 points and 12 rebounds. In Game 2 against Ola, she went for 12 points, 9 rebounds, 1 steal and 1 block before collecting 16 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals and 2 blocks in a win over Perry. In Jackson County’s final game of the weekend, a 61-59 overtime loss to Dutchtown, it was Pittmon who sent the Lady Panthers to overtime, scoring on a late drive with less than 10 seconds left to tie the game up just moments after seeing their lead evaporate. Bryleigh added 10 points in Game 4, finishing her weekend averaging 12.5 points per game with a balanced stat line across the board. Pittmon scored in a variety of ways throughout the event, her favorite attacking off the dribble. She used her body well, backing down defenders, using misdirection before ultimately getting back to her right hand. Pittmon utilized spin moves, scored with floaters, finished off two feet through contact and was steady from the foul line. Her aggressiveness forced referees to blow the whistle as she relentlessly sought to get to the hoop. Pittmon had nice drive-and-kick passes to the corner and on defense showed instincts picking off passes in the press. Bryleigh’s skill development, consistency and most importantly confidence have sky rocketed over the last 12 months. With continued work, Pittmon’s college trajectory could start to come into clearer focus. She’s a Day 1 impact maker at the varsity level.
2030 5-7 G Kamden West – Perry
Kamden will be a strong contributor over her next four years at Perry. West is an athletic freshman who isn’t shy about involving herself in plays. With her nose for the ball, she reads passes in the full court press and is a good rebounder for her size. In a 43-31 loss to Jackson County, West came on strong in the second half as the Panthers finished with a flurry. She hit a pair of transition threes and had a nice coast-to-coast take on an inbound as she finished with 14 points, 11 rebounds, 2 assists, 4 steals and 1 block.
2030 5-10 G Jordyn Avila – Sandy Creek
Early returns seem to grade out Jordyn Avila as the best freshman in Georgia. Jordyn was lights-out against St. Francis in a 75-72 double overtime loss, pouring in 25 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal as she hit five threes, two mid-range jumpers and a floater to go with 2-2 from the foul line. It was rare to see an Avila shot hit rim, let alone miss. Jordyn was always immediately ready to fire upon her first touch, doing so with incredible efficiency. Playing alongside Morghan Reckley, Avila looks primed for a monster season with endless amounts of catch-and-shoot chances coming her way. Florida offered after GBCA Live, joining Mississippi State, Ole Miss and Alabama as the latest.
2030 5-6 PG J’vaye Sams – Cartersville
The wiry lefty found her way to Cartersville for her freshman season instead of Rome. Sams is a lanky playmaker. She’s at her best attacking downhill and facilitating. Sams glides to the rim, able to finish with her right hand with full extension. She banked in a three against River Ridge in a loss, finishing with 7 points, 2 rebounds and 3 assists. Listed at 5-foot-6, J’vaye looks longer. She looks like a future two-way standout, a potential lockdown defender with a do-it-all motor when it comes to filling up the stat sheet.
2030 6-0 F Noelle Lee – Woodland-Stockbridge
Defense was Noelle’s calling card off the bench. Lee catches your eye right away at 6-foot tall with a long and strong frame. The freshman has a physical build and deceptively quick feet which allow her to guard point guards. Her length deflects passes and makes it difficult to initiate sets. Against Rabun County, Lee scored on a baseline out of bounds set, finishing with 2 points, 6 rebounds and 1 steal. As her offensive identity materializes, as will her ceiling. Noelle is an intriguing long-term prospect to keep tabs on down the road.
