Jaylen Samuel2027 6-6 W Jaylen Samuel – St. Francis
St. Francis rode Jaylen Samuel to a narrow 59-57 win over Cambridge to close Week 4. The 6-foot-6 wing scored from all three levels. He posed problems for the Bears with his size and quick second leap, clinging on the offensive glass to clean up misses inside. His stick-to-itiveness was on display whenever he left a shot short, quickly springing back up to atone for the miss with a subsequent putback, converting three on the day. On the perimeter, Samuel sank a mid-range jumper along with three three-pointers. When he chose to attack downhill, his size and strength helped him efficiently finish. His first hoop of the game came on a drive off a backdown and in the second half, he scored an And-1 off the dribble. Samuel added in 3-4 shooting from the foul line to total 25 points, 12 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals and 3 blocks. Jaylen is one of the more complete wings in all of Georgia. It somehow feels like he is flying under the radar heading into his senior season. D-I and D-II programs should be familiar with his game by now.

2027 5-11 G Jaden Smith – St. Francis
I’ve been impressed with Jaden’s play over the past few weekends. Smith is a legitimate shot maker. He’s shown a propensity for being able to hit difficult jumpers with hands in his face. Against Cambridge, Smith once again was zeroed in, hitting four mid-range pull-ups along with a three from the top of the key. Jaden sets up his makes with creative handles. He can relocate the rim quickly when coming out of spin moves to stop on a dime to lift and fire. While Jaden’s jumper was key on Sunday, also was his effort on the glass. Smith double-doubled from his guard position with 11 points, 10 rebounds and 1 assist.

2028 6-4 F Coleman Pruett – Cambridge
Coleman battled on the backboards as one of Cambridge’s tallest players. He kept possessions alive and was able to score with tip-ins against St. Francis. He drained a corner three and hit a mid-range jumper to highlight his expanding range. Pruett recorded 12 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists.

2027 5-8 G Jude Ware – Cambridge
Cambridge’s outside shooting has kept the Bears in a lot of games over the fall league. Jude Ware was hot on Sunday, sinking four threes while still serving as a primary playmaker. Jude was able to make plays off the bounce with the vision to find the open man, the Bears burying nine threes in the two-point loss to St. Francis. Ware finished with 12 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists.

2029 5-11 PG Colin Pearl – Titans
The sophomore guard looked good in a loss to the Woodstock Hawks, posting 15 points, 1 steal and 1 block. Colin was aggressive on offense. His repertoire included knocking down a pair of threes and utilizing changes of speed with the ball, using hesitation moves to freeze defenders on his way to the rim. Pearl’s attacking mindset sent him to the line for a perfect 5-5. Colin figures to play a significant role for the Titans this season with a bright future ahead.

2027 6-8 C Leo Aneke – Titans
Leo Aneke battled foul trouble against the Woodstock Hawks but when he was on the floor, he was effective posting 6 points, 4 rebounds and 1 steal in limited action. Aneke seals extremely hard inside, carving out space as he shows a target hand for entry passes. Leo uses his physicality to score through contact, converting a pair of And-1 post-ups on Sunday. Aneke is a bit gangly with his movements but he has great functional strength and a nose for the ball. He’s been one of the top rebounders in the fall league this season and is a shot-changing rim protector. Leo’s best basketball is still ahead of him. Standing close to 6-foot-9, Aneke has the tools to be an impactful post presence. I expect college programs to start taking a more serious look as his senior season progresses.
