2027 5-9 G Sofia Pihera – St. Pius X
I love the energy Sofia plays with. She is a true playmaker with the ball in her hands. She loves to attack and pass off the dribble. Sofia finds backdoor cutters and posts hanging behind the defense. Pihera has a quick first step and a strong frame which helps her put defenders in her back pocket. Her passing ability looks to be ahead of her scoring prowess at this stage of her career. Sofia did hit a transition pull-up jumper, banked in a three and sank a floater while going 4-6 from the foul line. Pihera finished with 11 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 1 steal in a 63-54 win over Sandy Creek. The athletic multisport standout has a nice future ahead of her, especially if she puts the work in with basketball.

2027 6-0 C Heidi Beck – St. Pius X
Beck was effective against the smaller Patriots. Heidi has a solid build, able to bang inside. She keeps the ball high while rebounding often earning multiple second chance opportunities. Heidi will need to work on her scoring touch with her back to the basket and must improve on exploding up to score, blocked numerous times by smaller defenders from behind. All in all, Beck has promise and her production doesn’t lie. She double-doubled with 11 points and 12 rebounds. She is an impactful presence for a freshman.

2027 5-9 F Megan Snipes – St. Pius X
Coach Kyle Snipes’ daughter is known for her softball skill, a First Team All-Region selection as an infielder that batted .479 with 22 RBI, but she has some game altering ability on the hardwood as well. Snipes is a powerful forward that can play inside and out. When she gets in the game, the opposing team can immediately feel it. Megan throws her body around, blocking out and scoring through contact. She uses her shoulders well when scoring around the rim. Snipes moves well, quick feet for often times the strongest player on the floor. With her nimbleness, aggressiveness and physicality, Megan feels bigger than her size with how she attacks rebounds. Snipes finished with 6 points, 5 rebounds and 2 assists off the bench, showcasing her toughness and ability to score with both hands.

2026 5-10 F Eva Russell – St. Pius X
A bit of a tweener, a combo-forward that can spend time both on the wing and on the block, Eva Russell has an athletic build with good mobility. She utilized her hook shot well, scoring twice on the low block. She hit two short range jumpers and finished on dump-offs. Russell tallied 12 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 block.

2026 5-8 W Parker Lee – St. Pius X
I thought Parker Lee helped set the tone early with her motor. Lee snatched seven rebounds in the opening quarter and finished with 6 points, 10 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal. Parker is versatile. She’s a good athlete that pursues the ball. She finished with both hands around the rim, scoring her first hoop on a left-handed drive. The sophomore holds promise as a multi-positional defender.

2025 5-11 F Annabella Sheridan – St. Pius X
Annabella was saddled with two early fouls and didn’t play much in the first half, but when she returned in the second half, she was able to hurt the Patriots. Sheridan recorded a team-high 13 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and 1 block, scoring 11 points after halftime. The veteran forward and star golfer scored in a variety of ways. Annabella found her points on a drive, a three-pointer, a high-low look, by running the floor, a steal and a dump-off.

2027 5-6 G Madison Reckley – Sandy Creek
The freshman came off the bench and scored three points over the opening 16 minutes before erupting in the second half, finishing with 23 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists, 4 steals and 1 block. Reckley has a good feel for the game and isn’t shy about attacking the defense. Madison drained three three-pointers and found success getting to the basket, using her speed advantage against St. Pius X. Reckley converted three And-1s showcasing great functional strength and balance to score through contact. Madison has college ball in her future.

2025 5-7 G Aila Person – Sandy Creek
The Patriots came out of the gates launching three-pointer after three-pointer. Aila Person was one of the few that was actually hitting from deep in the first half. Person netted three long balls and finished with 13 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal. The Golden Lions face guarded Person in the second half, helping neutralize her to just a pair of free throws. The lefty is an under the radar guard that can fill it up when given space.

2026 5-5 G Kennedie Cooper – Maynard Jackson
In a 65-33 rout of Mays, Kennedie Cooper dazzled at times with her ability change speeds, defend and find the open man. Cooper lulls defenders to sleep with hesitation moves and blows by for layups. Her shot is a bit flat on her release, but it is still a viable weapon netting two threes against the Raiders. The sophomore has a good foundation to build upon moving forward. She tallied a game-high 14 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals.

2026 5-4 G Cayden Cornish – Maynard Jackson
Cayden can score in bundles. She is quick and shifty with the ball. Cornish has no issue finding her jumper off the dribble, a very good outside shooter that creates her own separation. Cayden has a quick trigger from beyond the arc and is a pesky defender. Cornish drained three three-pointers to finish with 12 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals. It will be interesting to see what level Cornish will fit into at the next level.

British McKinney2024 5-10 PF British McKinney – Maynard Jackson
As I wrote about back in June, British McKinney is a sneaky good post player that could help out a college. The lefty is a physical presence that gets on the glass and can finish with a soft touch. She netted a putback layup, a hook shot and a mid-range jumper from the high post. McKinney tallied 6 points, 10 rebounds, 2 steals and 1 block. D-III and NAIA programs might want to do their due diligence.

2025 5-11 G Chloe Evans – Mays
Since her freshman year, Chloe has been piling in points at Mays. The Raiders have been slowly improving, off to their best start ever with Evans in the lineup, 9-6 after the loss to Maynard Jackson. Chloe has a lot on her plate with her main course being scoring. The big guard has pretty-looking jump shot with deep three-point range. Chloe sank two long balls off the catch. Evans handles the ball well for her size and has some wiggle to her game, showcasing some euro moves in traffic. Aside from her scoring acumen, Evans is a competitive rebounder and has upside as a defender that can guard multiple positions. Chloe finished with 12 points, 8 rebounds, 1 steal and 2 blocks. The tools are there for Evans to garner D-I interest. D-II should be her floor. Chloe is a talented player that could flourish in the right system at the next level. Exposure will be key.
