Anthony Moon2027 6-7 F Anthony Moon – Pebblebrook
College coaches have been murmuring about Anthony Moon. His length, motor and springiness excite staffs. He’s capable of earning buckets with his back to the basket but is most valuable with his face-up game. The slender forward is effective from 15-feet with the upside to stretch the floor even further out to the three-point line. Moon knocks down mid-range jumpers, can attack off the bounce to score with floaters and is good at rolling to the rim, catching and finishing with grace. When he gets the ball up close, Moon is looking to dunk with authority as he is a threat for backside lobs as well. In a win over Orlando Christian Prep, Anthony posted 8 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 block. With a Clark Atlanta offer at GBCA, Moon’s market is heating up.

2027 5-11 G Yahines Maxwell – Pebblebrook
The South Cobb transfer is rock-solid physically, an impressively built guard with great strength. Maxwell is wired to score. He can fill it up from deep, get to spots along the mid-range and can finish through contact inside. Against Orlando Christian Prep, Yahines came off the bench to net 16 points and 2 rebounds. If Maxwell can’t carve out a starting role, expect him to serve as an offensive sparkplug his senior season, a guard who can help change momentum with his shot making off the bench.

2027 6-6 F Christian Varella – Peachtree Ridge
The Duluth defector has intriguing physical tools. Varella is long, tall and springy. He flies in for offensive rebounds. The active body is good at scoring on baseline out of bounds and is a steady positional defender capable of helping guard on the perimeter as well as in the post. In a win over Gadsden City, Varella had 2 points and 6 rebounds. He’s a solid glue guy.

2027 6-3 SG Zion Williams – McEachern
Zion has a quick burst of speed to the rim. His penetration skills get him to the foul line. He finishes with both hands at the basket and is naturally gifted when it comes to creating separation along the perimeter, able to use combo moves to get to step-back jumpers. Williams is a high-upside scorer. Changing speeds and tightening up shot selection will help the potent scorer’s polish. He had 8 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and 1 block against Riviera Prep. Zion is a sneaky good prospect.

2027 6-2 G Shawn Evans – Valdosta
A wiry shot-maker, Shawn is a tough cover off the dribble when his shot is measured. Evans drilled three threes to close against Lovett, hitting two pull-ups and one catch-and-shoot from the top of the key. Evans finished with 9 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and 1 block.

2027 6-2 G Tyler Blouin – North Oconee
Blouin patiently waited his time on the short North Oconee bench for three years but now a senior, Tyler is capitalizing on his minutes. Blouin is a solid athlete, North Oconee’s Summer Slam Dunk Contest winner. He uses those physical gifts to help rebound and defend. Offensively, Tyler is a dangerous shooter on catch-and-shoot chances. The stock riser is climbing recruiting boards and could be in play at the D-III level sooner rather than later.

2027 6-6 F William Patterson – North Oconee
Patterson does the dirty work well. He’s a solid stretch big who can mix it up under the rim when it comes to rebounding and protecting the hoop. William knocks down open threes and is a low maintenance option offensively who doesn’t need plays called for him.

2027 5-10 PG Leo Wilkens – Mt. Bethel
I thought Leo was steady in a loss to The Villages, recording 6 points, 5 rebounds, 8 assists and 2 steals. Wilkens helped orchestrate a 14 three-pointer barrage, finding his shooters on away from the ball screens. I thought Wilkens did a nice job defending on the perimeter, providing effort.

2027 6-8 F Makai Boothman – Mt. Bethel
D-III programs showed interest in the stretch-forward. Boothman is a lean wing who shoots the three well. Although 6-foot-8, he’s more suited for playing on the perimeter. Once he adds a little more weight to his frame, he may be able to unlock more of a consistent post game which could increase his value. Either way, there are nice tools to work with for the lengthy shooter.

2027 6-3 W Cameron Knight – Brookwood
Physical wing loves to use his body to get to the hoop. Has a knack for drawing fouls and converting And-1s. Knight’s signature move is a spin move downhill. With his strength, Cam is a threat to carve out space on the offensive glass. He’s typically a steady rebounder who can also touch the box score in different columns.

2027 5-8 PG Masai Knight – Brookwood
I’m a fan of Masai’s game. The undersized point guard is a bundle of energy. He’s compact with muscle and agility. Knight is a crafty penetrator who can finish against length with floaters and backspin layups. Masai plays off two feet routinely. He jump stops to gather himself before making decisions in traffic.

2027 6-5 F Olabade Faduyile – Brookwood
Long and athletic, Faduyile is a blossoming forward. He runs the floor for dunks. Olabade has a stretchy skill set. He uses a quick first step from the high post to get to the rim where he finishes with both hands. I like his versatility defensively, capable of helping guard 3-5.

2027 6-4 G Braylon Luster – Cherokee
A slew of schools were tracking Braylon Luster all weekend at GBCA Live. Wofford and Ohio offered after watching him, joining Mercer and Tennessee Tech as others who have given a bid this summer. A big guard packed with physicality and an explosive game, the lefty can score the ball from all levels while also serving as the team’s primary distributor. Luster has a smooth approach, able to stop on a dime and reverse pivot into fadeaway jumpers. He’s tough coast-to-coast with his burst of speed and how well he stays on a straight line, absorbing contact as he gets to the hoop. Braylon reads defenses with drive-and-kick bullets to the corner. The little things like how well he blocks out stands out to me. Luster enters his senior season coming off a year in which he averaged 19 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals.

2027 6-7 F Jamil Walker – Butler
Jamil had the game-saving block late to preserve a 43-39 win against St. Francis. Long and strong, Walker is a good-looking athlete that flourishes at doing the dirty work. He’s not a huge focal point of the Butler offense but does the little things that add up to wins. He rebounds consistently and is quick enough to defend on the perimeter when he isn’t protecting the rim. Walker tallied 4 points, 5 rebounds, 1 steal and 2 blocks in the victory. Claflin offered in mid-June. Schools looking for a defensive anchor with sneaky offensive upside should check in on Walker.

2027 6-7 F Zach Waters – GAC
Zach buried a corner three at the buzzer to close GBCA Live with a thrilling 67-64 win over Cardinal Gibbons. Waters tallied 10 points and 4 rebounds in the victory. Zach has head turning skills along with eye-popping grades which should make him a priority target for high academic schools and D-III programs. Waters holds a 4.57 GPA with a 1410 SAT. At 6-foot-7, Zach is versatile inside and out. He’s a solid shooter from the corners, drilling two threes in the last-second win. He’s a springy leaper who helps on the glass and can defend around the rim. His stretchy skill set, academics and measurables are all attractive.

2027 6-4 G Kenneth Braswell – GAC
KJ had 7 points, 1 rebound, 2 assists and 2 blocks against Cardinal Gribbons. At 6-foot-4, his length on the perimeter and athleticism should draw attention. Braswell holds value defensively, able to cover a ton of ground outside but also effective when it comes to defending in the paint. Kenneth is a capable three-point shooter and a quick-footed driver who can hang in the air to finish.
