2027 6-4 G Tyler Wallace – Norcross Heat – Berkmar
I can see why schools are starting to show interest in Tyler Wallace. Ready to assume a spotlight role in the backcourt for Berkmar, Wallace showed a little bit of everything on Saturday. Listed at 6-foot-4, Tyler is a strong, athletic guard with end-to-end production. In Game 1 against Devin Butts Elite Welch, a 70-62 win, Wallace racked up 14 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals shooting 6-7 from the foul line. In Game 2, a 62-51 victory over HoopSavannah, Tyler tallied 21 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 block sinking four threes. Wallace attacks in different ways. Against DBE, it was his transition game which stood out. He was a heat seeking missile getting to the rim, leaping into the chests of defenders to draw fouls, converting And-1s with both hands –his defense sparking his offense. Against HoopSavannah, a game more-so played in the halfcourt, it was Wallace’s jump shot which did damage hitting seven as he mixed in mid-range pull-ups. Tyler’s stock is rising. Gaining valuable reps at point guard gives him more comfortability handling vs. pressure and more experience heading into the high school season where he will likely play more of a combo or off-guard position. Wallace is one to track.

2027 6-4 W Kendall Charleston – Norcross Heat – Seckinger
If Kendall can polish up his guard skills on the perimeter, you could see a breakout performer blossom at the next level. Charleston has terrific athleticism, super bouncy and active as he simply can out-athlete most. The lefty made big plays down the stretch against Devin Butts Elite on both sides of the ball. Kendall spent time at the top of the 1-3-1 zone as he racked up 11 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, 6 steals and 1 block in Game 1 before posting 14 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocks against HoopSavannah. With his motor, Charleston is a stat sheet stuffer. He is disruptive on defense with his ability to guard inside and out making splash plays. Charleston’s offense primarily comes in the paint, converting putbacks and running the floor for transition slams. I love the physical tools Kendall has. He is close to putting it all together.

2028 6-8 C Kellen Downey – Norcross Heat – Seckinger
Playing up in 17U, Kellen Downey played a big role in the Norcross Heat winning their first two games of the day. The lengthy big man is wiry and active. He’s a got a nice touch in the paint, effective even without getting many true post touches. Downey got the ball off the backboard, an active rebounder who could long-arm caroms, springy with the threat of putback dunks. When Downey got the ball, good things usually happened. After a two-point first half against Devin Butts Elite, Kellen was in the middle of everything down the stretch, running the floor for a hoop, scoring an And-1 and finishing a dunk. Downey sank a baseline jumper as well, finishing with 11 points, 3 rebounds and 1 assist. Against HoopSavannah, Downey was involved throughout, but once again finished with a flurry. The slender big scored 1 0 points in the second half, totaling 15 points, 10 rebounds and 1 block in a 62-51 win. Downey went 7-11 from the foul line, scoring thrice on putbacks and converting a high-low And-1 post up. Kellen will need to continue to add weight to his frame, but he showed the ability to be effective from the dunker spot on drop offs. Downey is trending up heading into his junior season.

2027 6-3 G Lloyd Johnson – Devin Butts Elite Welch – Camden County
Coming off a season in which he shot a blistering 53% (58-109) from three, Lloyd Johnson has since transferred to Camden County from Lowndes but hasn’t lost his shooting stroke. Johnson has gotten valuable reps in the Devin Butts Elite backcourt handling point guard duties. While tasked with helping keep the offense flow, Johnson still managed to exploit weak spots in the defense with his shooting touch both off the dribble and off the catch. Lloyd drilled six threes against the Norcross Heat, part of a 12-three barrage. Johnson’s fluid shot along with the ability to create off the dribble for others gives him intriguing upside. If his lead guard skills continue to grow along with his mentality to penetrate with the mindset to score, Johnson could start popping up on college radars. In a 70-62 loss, Lloyd finished with 18 points, 2 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals. He’s not only one of the elite shooters in South Georgia, but the entire state.

2027 6-1 G Jake Reid – Devin Butts Elite Welch – Valdosta
Jake knows exactly what his strengths are. He’s a knockdown shooter off the catch when playing off the ball. Reid can serve a combo-guard role when needed, a smart decision maker who is comfortable attacking the basket once run off the line looking to find the open man or score at the hoop. Reid plays within himself as a microwavable offensive option when he gets his feet set. He sank five threes against the Norcross Heat, hitting from the wings and the corners to finish with 17 points, 1 rebound, 1 assist and 1 steal.

2027 6-8 C Thomas Gosier – Devin Butts Elite Welch – Jones County
Gosier was a flat-out bully against the Norcross Heat. A D-I offensive lineman, Thomas is an impactful spacer eater in the paint. He’s a physical enforcer who can’t be moved off his spot but can easily ragdoll opponents out of the way when working his way into offensive rebounding position and when backing down for buckets. Thomas plays with immense power, rugged with a mean streak not afraid to jaw at the other team. He was a foul magnet on Saturday, getting to the line routinely where he converted at a respectable rate shooting 6-8. The overpowering post scored with a hook shot and a strong drop-step with his left hand. Gosier totaled 14 points, 8 rebounds and 1 assist. He’s a matchup nightmare for smaller teams and those not physically mature enough to bang with him.

2027 6-1 G Michael Hall – HoopSavannah – South Effingham
Michael Hall is no stranger down in Coastal Georgia, averaging 18.7 points, 4.1 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.7 steals per game as a junior. People outside of South Georgia should start to take notice as well. Mike is a sneaky good guard, a well-rounded scorer who can hurt you in a variety of ways. He’s an efficient shooter, netting 51 threes over 26 games. On Saturday against the Norcross Heat, Hall hit shots off the dribble as well as off the catch from multiple levels. Utilizing a high release, Michael sank three threes along with a mid-range pull-up en route to 21 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists. Hall got to the rim throughout the game, applying pressure on the defense. He has very good body control to score through contact. He’s explosive toward the rim, willing to try and dunk on defenders. Hall’s aggressiveness got him to the foul line to shoot 6-7 from the stripe. Now with solid exposure over the travel circuit, Mike has momentum heading into his senior season.

2027 6-3 G Tyler Blouin – HoopAthens – North Oconee
Tyler posted 17 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals and 1 block in a 62-57 win over the Georgia Suns, coming up big down the stretch. Blouin got hot with his three-point shot, nailing three in the second half and four total for the game. Three of his long balls came via the corner. At 6-foot-3, Tyler is a good athlete with shooting touch and the toughness to get to the hoop. He scored on a slicing full court drive, absorbing contact at the rim. Blouin stays active on both ends of the floor, influencing the game in multiple ways with his versatility. He should get a fair amount of catch-and-shoot opportunities at North Oconee this season serving as a quality third-option whose stock continues to rise.

2027 6-5 F Bo Rentz – HoopAthens – Athens Academy
In a 62-57 win, Bo provided 14 points and 5 rebounds. Rentz has high IQ, the son of a former coach. What Bo lacks in footspeed, he makes up for with footwork and patience. Although he may not be an explosive quick-twitch athlete, Rentz is well-schooled when it comes to playing off two feet. He’s poised in traffic using pump fakes to get defenders out of position to score. A combo-forward capable of stretching the floor with his three-point shot, Rentz finished with touch around the rim against the Georgia Suns using a drop step to square his shoulders before kissing the ball off the glass. He knocked down a pair of threes and got on the backboard for a putback. The First Team All-Region performer is a reliable contributor.

2027 6-0 G Josiah Ingram – Georgia Suns – Hancock Central
Josiah is wired to score. A multi-time All-State selection, Ingram has been getting buckets since his freshman season. He sets up defenders as he methodically probes before finding angles to attack downhill. Josiah shows swift balance as he’s able to spin off defenders to gather himself to finish through crowds. Ingram scores with both hands and can loosen up the defense with his three-point shot. He nailed two straightaway triples to open his scoring against HoopAthens, ending his day with 19 points, 1 rebound and 1 assist. Growing as a playmaker will be his next area of development. With so much attention focused on slowing him down, he’s got a great opportunity to set up teammates for easy buckets. Ingram’s one of the top offensive threats in all of Class 1A.

2027 6-4 F Franklyn Barnes – Georgia Suns – Riverwood
Franklyn has freak bounce. Barnes, a recent Riverwood transfer by way of Swainsboro, jumps out of the gym, an elite shot blocker who changes everything in the paint. Franklyn pogo sticks up to swat shots at their peak. Listed at 6-foot-4, Barnes’ defensive footprint is that of a near 7-footer with how he lives above the rim. In a narrow loss to HoopAthens, Barnes didn’t get many offensive touches, but he was effective on the glass and defensively. Franklyn drove for a big slam, his only points of the game finishing with a line of 2 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists and 6 blocks. His physical attributes piqued the interest of JUCO programs watching.
