11. 6-5 W Janiyah Weaver – Morrow
Following an All-Region season upon her move from Maynard Jackson to Morrow, Weaver’s stock continued to sky rocket over the summer earning a slew of offers. On August 13, Weaver announced her Top 6: St. John’s, Central Florida, Delaware, Bethune-Cookman, North Carolina A&T and Alabama. With her elite height and length, Janiyah has a dynamic skill set which affords her the ability to play inside and out. Weaver is a fluid athlete with coordination and ball skills. She’s a coast-to-coast threat with her long striding drives and improving jump shot. Weaver’s touch around the rim leads to easy hoops and although she is on the thinner side, Janiyah is a reliable rebounder who can score putbacks and post-ups through contact.
20. 5-9 W Michel Robbins – Hebron Christian
Robbins’ athleticism, two-way impact and steadied perimeter game has made her a trendy prospect over the offseason, earning offers from St. John’s, UNC Greensboro, Air Force and Jacksonville State. Michel’s an elite on-ball defender who picks up the full length of the floor. She turns ball handlers multiple times and is quick to force turnovers. When guarding away from the ball, she expertly reads passes to convert steals into breakaway layups. Robbins’ jump shooting has improved each and every year. She can knock down catch-and-shoot threes and has mastered the mid-range pull-up. Her non-stop motor makes her a game wrecker.
30. 5-9 G Regan Trlica – Union County
Regan is extremely gifted with talent that has drawn interest from D-I schools and D-II programs alike. Staying healthy and capitalizing on momentum by continuing to train and get game reps in the fall will determine what level she plays at. A good-sized guard, Trlica is smooth with the ball. She’s crafty with her downhill attacks, capable of finishing with either hand. Her court vision is advanced, a solid distributor with pace on her passes. Trlica’s creativity with the ball helps her score from all three levels. All in all, Regan is one of the most complete guards in all of North Georgia.
43. 5-7 G Jade Kitchens – Washington County
The secret is starting to get out. After three years of consistent high-level production, college programs are shifting their recruiting focus toward Kitchens. Middle Georgia State has courted Jade over the summer, a do-everything guard that averaged 16.1 points, 9.6 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 4 steals and 1.2 blocks as a junior. Kitchens’ aggressiveness and competitiveness stand out. She’s a sharp penetrator who has no issues finishing in traffic. Jade makes others around her better with her passing and her full court defensive pressure is tenacious.
47. 5-10 G Aria Paulk – Coffee
Following a run to the Final Four, Coffee graduates their top two leading scorers leaving Aria Paulk as the cornerstone to caffeinate the Trojans. Paulk has been a crucial cog to Coffee’s success, a big guard with a good jump shot. She averaged 9.7 points, 3.5 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 3.6 steals as a junior but had some monster scoring efforts during GBCA Live including a 26-point outburst against North Forsyth. Aria’s physical to the rim which plays well with her pull-up jumper. Paulk feels primed for an All-State season which in turn should boost her stock and land her on recruiting boards. She may be a bit of a sleeper right now, but not for much longer.
57. 5-10 W Kenzie Johnson – North Oconee
Back at North Oconee after a season at George Walton Academy, Kenzie checks a lot of boxes for college coaches. She’s got size, physicality and versatile skill. Johnson is lethal with her shot making but her playmaking is a rapidly improving area of her game as well, giving her the ability to steal minutes from positions 1-4. Johnson can create mismatches as a small-ball four with her three-point shot and off the dribble game. When on the wing, she provides the same skills and is effective defensively with her switchability.
61. 5-9 PG Sofia Pihera – St. Pius X
Sofia has taken her game to a new level over the offseason, the talented passer now a robust scorer with her three-point shot. Pihera’s always been a stout guard with physical size and a knack for completing tough jump passes across the court but her offensive creativity has been a steadily improving dimension of her game. Her quickness as penetrator along with her fluidity getting into her shot can catch defenders off balance. Pihera fills up the box score not only offensively but defensively as well with her toughness. Oglethorpe offered in August.
100. 5-6 PG TT Lewis – Heard County
Lewis cracks the Top 100 thanks in part to her hardnosed energy. TT plays at full throttle in the backcourt. She’s strong and athletic with a propensity to attack downhill. That effort extends to the defensive side, a stalwart for Heard County with how she pressures the ball and can move laterally to hinder north-south drives. If her jump shot becomes a consistent weapon, Lewis’ ascent may be just beginning.
115. 5-11 W Peyton Denmark – Buford
Peyton pieced together a strong summer that resulted in an offer from Oglethorpe and Truett McConnell. Denmark has tools and traits to stop coaches in their tracks. At 5-foot-11, Peyton has positional versatility. Her length makes her an effective defender both altering shots in the paint and when covering on the perimeter and in the full court in the press. Peyton brings steady effort on both ends. She rebounds the ball well when pressed into more of a forward role. Denmark can create mismatches with her three-point shot and lengthy strides off the bounce. Expect Peyton to touch all areas of the box score when she’s on the floor.
