With summer ball winding down, here’s an early preview of some of the top players in the GHSA’s newly formed Class 7A.
2029 6-3 W Carib Morris – South Forsyth
The number 11 ranked recruit in the nation poured in 27.7 points per game as a freshman en route to being named First Team All-State with a slew of other accomplishments. Morris has extremely deep range on her three-point shot. Her IQ with the ball is impressive, a very willing passer especially out of the high post able to hit cutters and shooters. Morris is crafty with highly advanced footwork, able to euro step her way to the basket or manipulate defenders with her pivot to get to up-and-unders and fadeaway jumpers. Her presence on the low block warrants double teams that she can score over or pick apart with her passing. Defensively around the rim, Carib is underrated is a shot alterer. The future All-American is the most complete offensive player in the state.
2028 6-0 W Miami Solomon – Westlake
Miami has a sky-high ceiling with her length, athleticism and versatile skill. Solomon can be a game wrecker with her ability to defend 1-5. She swoops in for rebounds, has active hands guarding along the perimeter and erases shots in the paint. Jamyce’s springiness and quick-twitch reactions allow her to dominate games. While she’s near the top of her class athletically, her skill is legit as well. She makes sharp one-handed passes and has an effortless attack offensively, capable of hitting tough floaters and jumpers off balance. Her range is continuing to expand with consistency out to the three-point line.
2028 5-10 F Aleigha Parish – Campbell
Aleigha is a bull in a China shop, a powerful downhill combo-forward who does her best work in the paint. Strong and physical, Parish explodes to the rim, grabbing rebounds and pushing coast-to-coast. She overpowers her way to the hoop, finishing through contact with either hand. Parish is a tenacious rebounder and an effective defender who plays bigger than her size as her bounce allows her to protect the rim. If Aleigha is able to add a consistent jump shot to her arsenal, her Mid-Major offers could balloon even higher as she looks to build off a sophomore season in which she averaged 14.1 points and 8.3 rebounds.
2027 5-6 PG London Smith – Newton
The 2024-25 Class 6A Player of the Year as a sophomore, London Smith has proven to be one of the state’s top winners heading into her senior season. An injury late last season kept Smith from building healthy momentum heading into the state playoffs but now on the mend, London has been back to her do-everything ways over the offseason. Although her stats are impressive, it feels like Smith is even better than what the numbers show as she always seemingly rises to the occasion on the biggest of stages. London averaged 13.7 points, 6 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.6 steals as a junior. Her nose for the ball and knack for making winning plays late whether it be hunting down a rebound, forcing a turnover or getting a bucket is what makes her a premier prospect with offers from Memphis, South Florida and Georgia Southern all coming in June.

2028 5-4 PG Ansley Dunn – Cherokee
When it comes to pure point guards, not many are in the same breath as Ansley Dunn. Height is the only perceivable hinderance for Dunn, which in fact doesn’t hinder her at all, especially at the high school level. The floor general is a whirling dervish of playmaking, craftily using her body to back down, spin and create off the dribble to set up teammates. She’s got elite court vision with great feel. Dunn has shown the ability to sink big shots in win-or-go-home settings. Ansley thrives at drawing contact to get to the line and is adept and finishing with both hands whether with her floater or scoop layups to evade shot blockers. One of the top point creators in Georgia, Dunn has picked up offers from North Georgia, West Georgia, Young Harris and Middle Georgia State this summer.
2028 5-9 G Leah DeWitt – Marietta
The prolific scoring guard netted 22.9 points, 4.9 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 3.2 steals and 1.3 blocks per game as a sophomore with 66 made threes (33%). Loaded with weapons around her, Leah won’t need to replicate her freshman campaign of scoring 25.4 points per game as her assist totals should continue to creep up. DeWitt’s among the best scorers not only in Georgia, but the Southeast. She has deep range off the bounce and off the catch. Leah plays with swagger and her emotion on her sleeve. Her passion rubs off on her team. The four-star guard has High Major offers from all across the country.
2028 5-7 PG Kenzie Hinkson – North Paulding
Furman is the latest to offer the defending state champion, joining Jacksonville State and West Georgia. Hinkson has won on the highest level. The baby-faced guard has a killer mentality on the court. Kenzie influences games on both sides of the ball. She uses her length, quickness and aggressive mindset to defend in the full court, harassing ball handlers into turnovers. Her handle gives her shiftiness downhill, able to slither past defenders before euro stepping for floaters. Kenzie’s three-point shot and distribution skills off the bounce make her the complete package.
2028 5-10 SG Gabby Thomas – Norcross
When it comes to putting the ball in the basket from distance, not many impressed more over the summer than Gabby Thomas. Hampton and UNC Greensboro popped bids along with North Carolina A&T to join a handful of other Low Major programs. At 5-foot-10, Thomas has size and strength. Gabby uses both to pull the trigger from well beyond the arc. Her nine three performance against Etowah resulting in 37 points was the top scoring outburst I witnessed this summer. Gabby gets her shot off the dribble with great fluidity. She’s a heady driver as well, able to ball fake on drives before going up for layups. Her skill, size and shoot touching should land her many more offers over the next two seasons. High Major programs will want to keep tabs.
2027 5-9 W E’miah Fields – Buford
A massive scoring burden will be placed on E’miah Fields this season as she will be the lead dog offensively for Buford after splitting shots with Lydia Ledford (Chattanooga). Fields possesses an elite motor. Not only is she a tremendous scorer, she’s an elite rebounder for her size, hunting down rebounds with relentless pursuit. Fields scores on putbacks and is at her best from 10-15-feet, a dangerous shooter with her left-hand pull-up. E’miah’s quick first step gets her to the rim in a blink where she is able to draw fouls. The double-double guard has landed offers from East Tennessee State, Georgia State, Georgia Southern, Bethune-Cookman and Stetson thus far this offseason.
