Seven new teams break into the Top 10 while a new number one rises to the top of the heap.There is significant movement in Class 7A, breaking the stalemate. No. 5 West Forsyth climbs a spot after rallying from down 12 in the fourth quarter to beat No. 8 South Forsyth 45-43 behind Tennessee Tech-signee Cayla Cowart’s 18 points and 10 rebounds. The Wolverines closed the week with a 72-65 win at Roswell. The War Eagles slip three spots after getting upset by Lambert 46-45 prior to their loss to West Forsyth. No. 6 Harrison springs up three places with a 3-0 week. The Hoyas beat North Paulding 58-41 before shattering records against Walton, Anna Gernatt burying 12 threes en route to 38 points in a 69-49 victory. Out of the Top 10 are Woodstock (13-8) and Campbell (13-8). Woodstock lost 68-63 to Class 3A No. 2 GAC before falling to rival No. 7 Cherokee 57-53 at home, Oglethorpe-signee Keimarya Rivera scoring 15 points in the win as the Warriors rise three spots after also beating New Manchester 55-47 at the QwikCut Classic. Woodstock scored a 65-47 win over last week’s Class 5A No. 5 Greenbrier at the QwikCut Classic behind Karson Martin’s 22 points, but it wasn’t enough to keep the Wolverines afloat in the poll. Campbell also suffered a pair of tight losses against Pebblebrook (56-55) and to Class 6A No. 6 Langston Hughes (57-56) at the QwikCut.  No. 9 Archer resurfaces with a 61-48 win over last week’s Class 6A No. 6 Carrollton at the QwikCut while No. 10 Tift County debuts on a six-game winning streak beating Camden County (66-36) and Coffee (45-31).

Class 6A No. 1 River Ridge swept No. 9 Sequoyah with a 60-50 win, Mataya Gayle scoring 20 points and freshman Sophia Pearl netting 15. No. 2 Lovejoy won at No. 6 Langston Hughes 58-43 but the Panthers still move up a spot after scoring wins over last week’s Class A-Private No. 5 Galloway (63-42) and last week’s Class 7A No. 8 Campbell (57-56). No. 3 Buford held off Class A-Private No. 5 Wesleyan 56-53. Carrollton (17-4) tumbles out of the rankings as they await the return of Western Carolina-signee Kehinde Obasuyi. The Trojans lost 50-42 at No. 10 Rome, the Wolves back in the poll for the first time since the Preseason after drilling 10 threes. Carrollton also lost 61-48 to Class 7A No. 9 Archer at the QwikCut Classic.

No. 1 Woodward Academy picked up a gut-check win in Class 5A, topping No. 3 Forest Park without UGA-signee Sydney Bowles, 55-42. Sara Lewis stepped up with 16 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Below the Top 3, there has been a jumble of teams yo-yoing up and down. No. 4 Union Grove is back up two spots after wins over Eagle’s Landing (52-45) and Woodland-Stockbridge (48-30). Three teams are ranked out of Region 2 led by No. 5 Griffin who rises two slots with a 3-0 week highlighted by a 52-51 nailbiter at Harris County. No. 6 Northside-Columbus slips a pair of places after losing to returnee No. 7 McIntosh 49-42 to split the season series. Over midway through the season, the Region 2 standings sit: Griffin (8-1), Northside-Columbus (6-1) and McIntosh (6-2). Elsewhere in the state, No. 8 Warner Robins moves up with a 71-53 win over rival Northside-Warner Robins. No. 9 Greenbrier plummets four spaces with a 65-47 loss to last week’s Class 7A No. 7 Woodstock at the QwikCut Classic, spoiling Caitlin Staley’s breakout 25-point game. The Wolfpack are 1-3 against Top 10 teams this season. No. 10 Stockbridge barely clings onto their spot after losing 48-45 to Dutchtown. Sitting at 11-7 and 8-3 in Region 4 in a three-way tie for second-place, the Bulldogs have played spoiler twice already, also with a win over Union Grove. Cass (16-3) departs from the Top 10 with back-to-back home losses to Calhoun (71-60) and Blessed Trinity (42-38).

All three of Class 4A No. 1 Luella’s losses have come to the Top 3 in Class A-Private, No. 1 Holy Innocents’ the latest to beat the Lions 61-41. No. 2 Jefferson avenged an earlier loss to No. 7 Cedar Shoals in a big way, 61-30 as Natalia Bolden erupted for 29 points. No. 3 Carver-Columbus was rocked by Hoover, AL 74-47 before beating Spencer 73-44. No. 6 Arabia Mountain squeaked out a 59-56 win at Druid Hills. No. 9 Chestatee got 22 points and 10 rebounds out of Riley Black to finally beat Flowery Branch 53-40 while freshman Addison Boyd dropped in 17 points in a 59-29 rout of Commerce. Bainbridge (14-7) exits the rankings with a pair of losses to Colquitt County (37-35) and Monroe (50-44). After a two-week hiatus, No. 10 Westover is back in the poll with a win over Thomas County Central 42-38.

No. 1 Lumpkin County remained perfect in Class 3A, hammering Dawson County 81-55 behind a balanced scoring attack paced by Mary Mullinax (20), Averie Jones (18), Kate Jackson (17) and Lexi Pierce (16). No. 2 GAC beat last week’s Class 7A No. 7 Woodstock 68-63 and knocked Redan (12-6) out of the Top 10 43-39 before losing 68-49 to Class A-Private No. 1 Holy Innocents’. Redan also lost 59-39 to Westminster, who now has Stanford-commit Courtney Ogden back in action. No. 3 Cross Creek dismantled Burke County 61-35 on the road while No. 4 Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe suffered their first loss of the season to 17-2 Bradley Central, TN 69-41. It took overtime for No. 7 East Jackson to escape Monroe Area 58-56, prompting No. 6 Sumter County to leapfrog four spots following a 3-0 week which included road wins at Monroe (62-52) and at Peach County (49-32). Ranked in Week 4 and Week 9, unable to survive the following week, No. 10 North Hall is back in the poll and will try to have staying power now. The Trojans are coming off a 76-51 win at White County and will travel to Lumpkin County on Tuesday.

It was a wild week in Class 2A. In a game with a state title feel, No. 1 Rabun County led wire-to-wire to knock off No. 2 Elbert County 51-47 to take over the top spot as the Blue Devils relinquish their grip since opening the Preseason number one. The LadyCats had Elbert County on their heels as Aaniyah Allen picked up two early fouls and sat the majority of the first half as the Blue Devils had to back out of their vaunted press. Elbert County clawed out of a 13-point hole in the third quarter and tied the game at 41 with 6:38 left to play but Rabun County was able to trade buckets when it mattered and Emmanuel-signee Gracie Deetz hit a pair of 1-and-1 free throws with 6.6 seconds left to ice the game, finishing with 20 points and 9 rebounds. Carley Haban scored 16 while Lucy Hood (8) and Sophie Woodard (7) also contributed. The Blue Devils received 14 points from Terrace Hester while Allen compiled 13 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and 1 block. Outside of Region 8, there is some more major movement as No. 6 Josey falls three spots with a loss to rival No. 9 Laney 54-51, the Wildcats breaking into the poll for the first time since Week 3 riding a 7-game winning streak after an 0-4 start, Laney’s worst open in decades. Kiara Turner scored 20 points and Santana Dennis netted 13. No. 4 Northeast-Macon leaps three places after gaining sole possession of first-place in Region 3, beating No. 7 Washington County 68-58 to sink the Golden Hawks two slots. The Raiders led 57-37 heading into the fourth quarter. No. 5 Swainsboro dominated Woodville-Tompkins for the second time this season, 63-43 before racing past Bacon County on the road 64-46. Sophomore Jayden Wynn scored 19 against both the Wolverines and the Raiders. Heard County (16-4) falls out of the Top 10 following a 45-40 loss at No. 10 Callaway, sophomores Jazmin Thornton collecting 15 points and 11 rebounds while Lacey Thomas posted 10 points and 20 rebounds. The Cavaliers closed the weekend with a 73-42 loss at East Coweta.

Out of Class A-Private No. 1 Holy Innocents’ 17 wins, 12 have come against Top 10 teams with their latest against Class 4A No. 1 Luella (61-41) and Class 3A No. 2 GAC (68-49). No. 3 Mt. Paran tore up North Cobb Christian 71-26 while No. 5 Wesleyan moves up a spot with a 59-57 win over McEachern and a tough 56-53 loss at Class 6A No. 3 Buford. No. 6 Galloway sinks after losing 63-42 to Class 6A No. 6 Langston Hughes. Madison Morge netted 17 points in No. 7 Trinity Christian’s 47-39 win at Douglas County. No. 8 Calvary Day cemented themselves as the class of Savannah, beating rival Savannah Country Day on the road 50-44 behind Hannah Cail’s 20 points and freshman Destini Gooddine’s 18.

Finally, there are no changes in Class A-Public. No. 1 Montgomery County survived Dublin 36-35 while No. 2 Bryan County beat ECI 55-20 behind Kenzie Stucker’s 15 points. No. 6 Pelham beat Calhoun County 54-32. No. 10 Claxton topped Jenkins County 51-25 setting up a crucial Region 3 home game with Bryan County. Region 3 is still up for grabs No. 5 Screven County (9-1) leads both Claxton (7-1) and Bryan County (8-2) in the standings.
