Deep into the season, five teams debut in their respective classifications as region play has begun sorting out the pecking order of potential tournament seeding.

Class 7A No. 1 Grayson continues to crush ranked opponents, defeating No. 7 Norcross 59-37 at the MLK Classic before blowing past No. 4 McEachern 68-40 at the Georgia Nike Elite Classic. The Lady Blue fall two spots while the Indians rise two places, starting their week with a 45-43 win over No. 5 North Paulding. No. 2 Carrollton overpowered Class 6A No. 8 Woodward Academy 69-39 at the MLK Classic and won at Dalton 51-46 to end the weekend. No. 6 Campbell rises a position, toppling Class A D-II No. 1 Greenforest 47-31 at the MLK Classic.

Class 6A has two new entries in the poll. At the top, nothing has changed with No. 1 River Ridge drilling Class A D-I No. 2 Galloway 74-34 behind Makayla Roberson and UNC Greensboro volleyball-signee Allie Sweet’s 18 points apiece. No. 8 Woodward Academy is fading, dropping two spots with a blowout loss to Class 7A No. 2 Carrollton 69-39 at the MLK Classic. No. 7 Veterans is up a spot after completing a season sweep of Class 5A No. 4 Warner Robins, winning in the Demon Den 56-41 as Gabby Minus netted 23 points. Sequoyah (13-6) and Lakeside-Evans (14-5) exit the poll. The Chiefs were upset at West Forsyth 51-41 while the Panthers yo-yo back out of the rankings after struggling to win in overtime at 6-11 Grovetown 46-42 before dropping 60-58 at Brunswick and losing at Glynn Academy 56-48. No. 9 Rome bounces back into the Top 10 following a 73-61 win at Woodstock. No. 10 Pope makes their debut, outlasting Sprayberry on the road in overtime 47-42 as Abbey Bensman recorded 18 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks.

Class 5A has really started to solidify itself as the top seven remains unchanged, although two teams suffered Top 10 losses. No. 1 Union Grove has a stranglehold of first-place in Region 2 after beating No. 4 Warner Robins 61-48 and winning at No. 9 Jones County 49-39. The Demonettes also lost 56-41 to Class 6A No. 7 Veterans but maintain their position in the poll while the Greyhounds slide one spot. No. 2 Maynard Jackson edged No. 5 Midtown 55-47 as Kennedie Cooper collected 18 points and 7 steals. No. 7 Bradwell Institute is on the precipice of climbing, beating Statesboro (14-3) 45-36. The Tigers travel to No. 10 Ware County on Tuesday, the Gators back in the poll for the first time since Week 6 after also beating Statesboro 51-44.

In Class 4A, No. 1 Baldwin beat Lowndes 75-50 at the MLK Classic while No. 2 Hardaway defeated Northview 51-40. No. 3 Holy Innocents’ dispatched of No. 7 Southwest DeKalb 68-49 at the MLK Classic, dropping the Panthers two places. No. 4 Stockbridge was routed by Class 3A No. 1 Hebron Christian 82-36 at the MLK Classic. No. 5 Fayette County rises a position with a 56-40 win at No. 9 Starr’s Mill, Anaya Ferguson dominating inside with 14 points, 16 rebounds and 9 blocks. No. 6 Chestatee knocked North Oconee (13-8) back out of the Top 10, 61-58 before winning at North Hall 59-20. The Titans also lost to crosstown rival newly ranked Class 3A No. 8 Oconee County 51-49. No. 8 Cherokee Bluff lost 54-52 to Walnut Grove and saw Emma Reynolds go down with an injury. Cracking into the Top 10 for the first time is No. 10 Heritage-Catoosa. The Generals snapped Sonoraville’s seven-game winning streak 55-45 as freshman Camdyn Carter scored 15 points followed by Macie Collins and Tori Epps’ 14 points apiece.

Class 3A saw No. 1 Hebron Christian blow past Class 4A No. 4 Stockbridge 82-36 at the MLK Classic. No. 2 Wesleyan lost 56-41 to Montverde Academy, FL at the MLK Classic but rebounded with a 71-46 win at No. 7 Dawson County. No. 4 Carver-Columbus lost to Class A D-I No. 2 Galloway 72-59 at the MLK Classic but defeated No. 9 Monroe 76-65. Prior to their loss to the Tigers, the Golden Tornadoes blasted Class A D-II No. 5 Early County 53-24. No. 5 Cross Creek rises a spot after surviving at Morgan County 41-38 while No. 6 White County slides with an upset loss at Lumpkin County 49-46. Hart County (12-6) exits the rankings with a loss at debutant No. 8 Oconee County, 44-31. The Warriors have now won four-straight games, including beating last week’s Class 4A No. 10 North Oconee 51-49 as Julie Azeltine netted 16 points.

Class 2A No. 2 Josey held on against Putnam County 67-61 while No. 3 Thomson defeated No. 6 Butler 41-35. No. 5 Banks County edged Walnut Grove 62-54 while No. 7 Model won at Murray County (13-6) 40-39 to move up a spot and drop the Indians from the rankings. No. 8 Callaway moves down one position with a 66-62 overtime loss at Lanett, AL. No. 10 Dodge County re-enters the rankings after a 4-0 week, highlighted by a 57-42 win over Class A D-II No. 4 Wilcox County, Lyric Green dumping in 23 points.

In Class A D-I, No. 1 St. Francis fell to IMG Academy, FL 62-45 at the MLK Classic. No. 2 Galloway clawed out a 72-59 win against Class 3A No. 4 Carver-Columbus at the MLK Classic as Georgia Tech-signee Tianna Thompson posted 19 points and 12 rebounds while Danaya Stokes collected 15 points and 21 rebounds. The Scots ended their week with a 74-34 loss at Class 6A No. 1 River Ridge. No. 3 Athens Christian defeated No. 4 Rabun County 71-57 behind Marlene Mbilima’s 25 points and 8 rebounds, counteracting Western Carolina-signee Lucy Hood’s 32 points, 4 rebounds and 6 assists. No. 6 Lamar County beat Heard County 64-56 as Shakiria Foster netted 21 points. Bryan County (15-3) exits the poll with a 56-41 loss at Tattnall County. No. 10 Temple makes their debut coming off a 57-33 win at Crawford County, Mackenna Nix piling in 30 points, 12 rebounds and 6 steals. The Tigers host Lamar County on Tuesday.

Class A D-II No. 1 Greenforest suffered a 47-31 loss to Class 7A No. 6 Campbell at the MLK Classic. No. 2 Taylor County won at Macon County (11-6) 61-47 and survived Chattahoochee County 43-41. The Bulldogs drop from the Top 10, also beaten at debutant No. 10 Manchester 53-36. No. 4 Wilcox County fell in a rematch to a full-strength Class 2A No. 10 Dodge County 57-42. No. 5 Early County holds onto their spot after losses to Class 3A No. 9 Monroe 53-24 and at Randolph-Clay 38-36. The Bobcats bounced back with a 55-44 win over No. 6 Terrell County to secure their position. No. 8 Towns County is down a spot, losing at Greene County 67-55. Warren County (13-4) is out of the poll after losing at Lake Oconee Academy 47-39. No. 9 Seminole County returns to the Top 10 after five weeks out, beating Randolph-Clay 46-43.
