The final week of the regular season for most teams is here with region tournaments right around the corner. Five ranked teams lost in Class 7A but No. 1 Grayson wasn’t one of them, pounding Archer (16-6) out of the Top 10, beating the Tigers on the road 82-44 before Archer lost at Newton 55-43. No. 2 Carrollton was upended at No. 4 Campbell 46-39, the Spartans jumping two spots behind Penn-signee Brooke Suttle’s 18 points and Saniya Binion’s 16. No. 3 Buford lost at home in overtime to Class 4A No. 3 Holy Innocents’ 78-75, Ohio State-signee Ava Grace Watson with 31 points in the defeat. No. 5 McEachern and No. 6 North Paulding both slip a spot, the Indians upset by Marietta 49-47 while the Wolfpack fell to Hillgrove 62-53 but rebounded with a blowout win at Marietta 87-54. No. 10 Cherokee sneaks back into the poll after five weeks out. The Warriors won at North Cobb 45-38.

The top eight in Class 6A remain intact. No. 4 Langston Hughes lost to Class A D-I No. 1 St. Francis 69-52. No. 7 Veterans knocked off No. 6 Tift County 62-53 as Gabby Minus went for 24 points and 13 rebounds. No. 9 Sequoyah is dealing with injuries, but still managed to topple Rome (17-7) to secure the two-seed in Region 6, beating the Wolves 55-50 on the road to drop them from the Top 10. Rome also lost 64-55 at Creekview. Back into the rankings is No. 10 Lakeside-Evans, fresh off wins over Grovetown (48-38) and South Effingham (55-44).

Class 5A No. 2 Maynard Jackson won at No. 5 Creekside 66-58 after the Seminoles also lost to No. 4 Midtown 52-50. Harris County (19-3) fell victim to McIntosh 63-56, dropping out of the Top 10 along with Ware County (18-6) who was blown out by No. 8 Statesboro, the Blue Devils surging back into the rankings closing their week with a 66-60 win against No. 9 Bradwell Institute. It took nine weeks to resurface but No. 10 Dalton has burst back into the poll coming off wins at Carterville 65-52 and at Cass 59-54. The Catamounts can clinch the Region 7 one-seed if they can beat Calhoun on Friday.

Movement is minimal in Class 4A. No. 3 Holy Innocents’ drilled 12 threes and held onto a double-digit lead for much of the game before having to survive in overtime to win at Class 7A No. 3 Buford 78-75, Stanford-commit Hailee Swain pouring in 32 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists. No. 7 Cherokee Bluff climbs a spot, beating No. 6 Chestatee 46-43, Georgia Southern soccer-signee Kaitlin Cook posting 10 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 2 blocks after missing their first meeting earlier this season. No. 10 Heritage-Catoosa hammered Northwest Whitfield 69-43 as Macie Collins dumped in 25 points.

There are no changes in Class 3A. No. 1 Hebron Christian destroy Hart County 106-38. No. 4 Pickens went on the road to beat No. 5 White County 78-54. No. 6 Dawson County rallied past Lumpkin County 47-42, Bryan-commit Abby Slaton scoring 12 points. No. 9 Monroe beat Dougherty 62-46 behind freshman Kie’Aundria Acree’s 32 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists, 5 steals and 2 blocks.

In Class 2A, No. 2 Josey held off No. 6 Butler 42-39. No. 4 Banks County came from behind to win at Union County in overtime 51-49, freshmen connecting for the basket with just seconds left as Ella Kate Shedd found Marleigh Dale for the win. Reese Murphy led the Leopards with 15 points. Callaway (19-3) exits the Top 10 with a 48-35 loss at Columbia. No. 10 Murray County rejoins the rankings after beating Fannin County 52-39 as Bayleigh Winkler double-doubled with 16 points and 12 rebounds.

Class A D-I No. 1 St. Francis put another notch in their belt, winning at Class 6A No. 4 Langston Hughes 69-52. No. 2 Galloway escaped No. 8 Mt. Pisgah 66-59, Georgia Tech-signee Tianna Thompson netting 25 points and 9 rebounds. The Patriots also lost to Class A D-II No. 1 Greenforest 64-56 earlier in the week, but hold tight to their spot due to strength of schedule. No. 3 Athens Christian clinched the one-seed out of Region 8, winning at No. 5 Rabun County 69-63, outrebounding the LadyCats 38-15 as Marlene Mbilima posted 19 points and 17 rebounds. Western Carolina-signee Lucy Hood led Rabun County with 29 points, scoring 21 in the fourth quarter to fuel a furious comeback that saw 16-point lead trimmed to 60-59 with 2:50 remaining. No. 7 Lamar County beat a barebones roster of newly ranked Class A D-II No. 9 Lake Oconee Academy 71-19.

Class A D-II No. 1 Greenforest beat Class A D-I No. 8 Mt. Pisgah 64-56. No. 3 Montgomery County drops a spot, losing their first game of the season at Jenkins County 36-31. With Amire Banks unavailable, Marley Bell scored all 31 points for the Eagles. No. 5 Early County beat Seminole County (15-6) 61-44, dropping the Indians out of the Top 10. No. 8 Clinch County is down a slot, beating Coffee in overtime 47-44 but losing 47-41 at Charlton County. Towns County (14-8) exits the poll beaten by Region 8 returnees No. 9 Lake Oconee Academy 48-40 and No. 10 Warren County 52-51. With three starters out, the Titans saw their eight-game winning streak snapped by Class A D-I No. 7 Lamar County 71-19. Prior to the loss, Lake Oconee Academy pounded Greene County 62-32 as Georgia Bosart recorded 18 points, 23 rebounds and 7 assists.
