BOYS

Class AAAAAAA

No. 2 Grayson 52, No. 9 Archer 46: Tyrese Elliott had 13 points and 3 steals while Chauncey Wiggins had 11 points. Robert Cowherd chipped in 10 points, 4 assists and 3 steals. Kaden McArthur delt 7 assists.

No. 5 Berkmar 70, Dunwoody 45: Ahmed Soumahoro (16), Jameel Rideout (14), Destin Logan (12), Jalen Harris (12) and Trey Lock (11) led the Patriots.

South Forsyth 53, North Gwinnett 50: Devin McGlockton had 14 points and 8 rebounds while Kohl Harris and Brandon Stoudamire scored 13 apiece.

Roswell 59, Woodstock 41: Jase McCullough (14), Jackson Kemp (13), Michael Fitzgerald (12) and Mason Kemp (11) led a balanced attack. Woodstock was led by Landon Stubblefield’s 18 points.

Lambert 60, Mountain View 48: Paul Lunguana had 21 points and 11 rebounds while Mason Barnes tallied 16 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists. Niko Wilson scored 10 points. James Tyre chipped in 7 points and 5 assists. Chance Boothe led Mountain View with 17 points followed by Javon Jordan (11) and Zay Wilson (7).

Collins Hill 83, Brookwood 68: Vino Glover (24) and Travis Hunter (16) combined for 40 points. Chris Lanns added 11 points while Ethan Davis and Alpha Diallo had 10 apiece.

The calendar has flipped to 2021 and with it has come 12 new teams into the state rankings scattered across classifications. Plenty of Top 10 matchups were presented to us with the same recycled teams as the Champions Classic, Tournament of Champions and New Year’s Classic were some of the biggest events that took place over the holidays featuring the best of the best in Georgia. Game Night Recap 12-30

BOYS

Class AAAAAAA

No. 2 Grayson 74, No. 3 McEachern 66: The Rams won the Champions Classic Championship behind MVP Tyrese Elliott’s 20 points and 6 assists. Robert Cowherd added 14 points and 4 assists while Clemson-signee Ian Schieffelin had 12 points. Charleston Southern-signee Taje Kelly and Kaden McArthur had 11 points apiece.

Archer 52, No. 6 Cherokee 43: The Tigers grinded their way to the 29th Annual Deep South Classic Championship. Archer held Cherokee to 28 points through the first three quarter while battling foul trouble. Christian Drummer and Damoni Harrison each scored 14 points. Major Freeman added 13 points. In the loss, Xavier-signee Elijah Tucker finished with 19 points, 14 rebounds, 1 steal and 2 blocks. Taihland Owens scored 16 points. Ethan Pickett did not play.

No. 9 Discovery 81, Winder-Barrow 61: Navaughn Maise pulled down 15 points and 13 rebounds while DeCourey McGowan netted 15 points. Ian Davis chipped in 14 points and 6 rebounds. Mikey Moncrease had 12 points and 5 steals while Davieon Teague-Parham scored 11 points. Cam Shelton dished out 7 assists.

Collins Hill 87, 3ANo. 10 Monroe Area 69: After trailing 38-33 at the half, Collins Hill’s full court pressure finally broke Monroe Area, using a 37-point third quarter to breakaway for a win at the Deep South Classic. Vino Glover finished with 14 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals while Alpha Diallo added 14 points off the bench. Ethan Davis had 13 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Jabre Mills collected 12 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals. Chris Lanns had 12 points, 5 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 blocks. The final week of 2020 is finally here and lucky for us, the ball is still bouncing. Hopefully 2021 gets off on the right foot as we start to venture into region play as showcase tournaments are coming to a close. Playing For A Change, Tournament of Champions and Lemon Street Classic have successfully altered the state picture. No one is running from anyone as top teams in Georgia have all gone head-to-head, giving us a clearer picture of not only who the state title favorites are, but who are the best teams regardless of classification in the state of Georgia.
