Hillgrove 42, Dawson County 33
In a special crossover matchup, Hillgrove (3-3) came over from the Sunday Fall League at East Paulding and handed Dawson County (7-1), the league champion, their first loss of the season, both teams missing key players. Dawson County struggled with the speed of the Hawks, Amaya Harris cutting her way to the basket routinely as top perimeter defender Kindra Coker was not in attendance. Aside from their quickness downhill, Hillgrove netted four threes. Shelby McCall knocked down three jumpers, two coming in transition. Dawson County outrebounded the smaller Hawks 27-15 but went 3-14 from the foul line. Morgan Chester picked up three early fouls but scored eight of her 10 points in the second half. Ava Roberson was effective on the offensive glass, scoring on three putbacks.
