MVP Favorites

Jahmar Maurice2028 5-11 G Jahmar Maurice – Cherokee Hawks (3-1)
20 PPG – 5 3PTM – 3 RPG – 1.5 APG – 2.3 SPG
The electrifying freshman has taken the league by storm with his elite athleticism and downhill skill. Maurice routinely slices up the defense using a quick first step and a burst to the basket. Jahmar hangs in the air to finish as a foul magnet that lives at the line. Maurice leads the league in scoring and free throw attempts.

Micah Hines2025 6-2 G Micah Hines – New Manchester (4-0)
16.5 PPG – 1 3PTM – 4.8 RPG – 1.8 APG – 2.5 SPG – 1 BPG
The Jaguars are undefeated with Micah Hines the head of the snake. Hines sets the tone with his aggressiveness on defense. New Manchester plays up-tempo, forcing turnovers and scoring in transition. Micah is a highlight maker. He’s a confident ball handler with a smooth approach. Hines scores with both hands as one of the league’s toughest finishers. The stat sheet stuffer is one of the biggest stock risers in the league.

Chace North2026 6-3 G Chace North – Central-Carrollton (2-2)
18 PPG – 3.3 RPG – 1.3 SPG
The all-downhill big guard has overpowered his way to the basket consistently throughout the season. He has the physical tools to attract colleges of different levels come senior season. Adding to his offensive arsenal and impacting games away from scoring will really help his stock. North is teetering on the verge of announcing himself as a top guard in West Georgia. With Khaven Cochran out during the fall league, Chace has shined in his absence.

Taj Saragba2027 6-7 PF Taj Saragba – Woodstock (3-1)
10.5 PPG – 10 RPG – 1.5 APG – 1.5 SPG – 3 BPG
When Taj has been in action, he has been dominant. The springy lefty’s game has grown with improved guard skills, looking to snatch rebounds and push coast-to-coast. Defensively, Taj has been difficult to score on. He alters shots and eliminates second chances. D-I schools have already offered the blossoming sophomore.

Defensive Player of the Year Favorites

Seyi Daramola2025 6-5 PF Seyi Daramola – Whitewater (1-3)
13.5 PPG – 1 3PTM – 10.5 RPG – 1 APG – 1 SPG – 2 BPG
I love Seyi for D-III schools. The 6-foot-5 forward plays closer to 6-foot-8 with his explosive leaping ability and high motor. Daramola leads the league in rebounding and is among the top shot blockers as well. Seyi makes an impact in the paint. In the high post, he can catch, turn and attack the rim, elevating to score over contests. Daramola is a sleeper that smaller schools should be aware of.

2025 6-8 PF Connor Williams – Central-Carrollton (2-2)
5 PPG – 1 3PTM – 5.8 RPG – 3.5 BPG
Bevill State offered Connor in August. The toolsy stretch-big leads the league in blocked shots. Connor opens up the floor with his three-point shot and is a capable rebounder. Williams is on the thinner side, but he does a good job of using his length to his advantage without getting pushed around inside.

Josh Gadsden2025 6-1 G Joshua Gadsden – New Manchester (4-0)
7.5 PPG – 2.8 RPG – 3.8 SPG
Possibly an unsung hero in New Manchester’s 4-0 start, Josh’s tenacious defense has carried the Jaguars since Week 1. Gadsden is a strong guard that can defend 1-4 while playing bigger than his size. Josh has quick instincts and isn’t afraid about playing physical, dictating what the opponents do.

Taj Saragba2027 6-7 PF Taj Saragba – Woodstock (3-1)
10.5 PPG – 10 RPG – 1.5 APG – 1.5 SPG – 3 BPG
