The Columbia County News-Times 7/9/17 feature on Kyle

Kyle graduated from Kennesaw State in May of 2015 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sport Management. He has always had a passion for going against the grain and giving a critical view on sports. Sandy’s Spiel is a venue to give differing view points that may not be seen in most media outlets and challenges readers to open their minds and think differently about certain teams and players.

His work has ranged from interviewing athletes and coaches to writing stories for the Atlanta Falcons and high school sports in the state of Georgia. Kyle’s proudest work so far has been creating a GHSA basketball transfer database that analyzes the biggest moves in Georgia and a list of players to watch for, for the 2015-16 high school basketball season.

  1. You left off shooting guard and strong top GA 20 Sophmore WILL RICHTER at St Francis.. great outside shooter and strong defender… see his LIVE MIXTAPE #88 from the LIVE EVENT AT SSA IN JULY 2015/// look under WILL RICHTER BASKETBALL on GOOGLE or on U TUBE… Ranked #66 HOOPS REPORT>COM

  2. Check out Lorenzo Smothers younger brother freshman Joshua Rodgers. He averages 18+ a game along with 7+rebounds a game. He’s more of a power forward but very electrifying as a freshman. #Smashbrothers

  3. Kyle, I love your writing and think you are doing a great job out of the chute. Your GHSA basketball coverage has been thorough and entertaining to read. Keep up the great work!

  4. FINALLY a writer who is un-biased and does not appear to take “kickbacks” from high school coaches, aau organizations or other individuals. Stay true to your writing and continue to separate yourself from other sport writers here in the Atlanta area. Your GHSA basketball coverage has been GREAT! Continue the good work! You will go a long way.

    1. Kyle,

I enjoyed your thorough analysis and input on girls rankings in the state of Georgia. It’s fair to say that despite the wealth of talent in the area, the coverage has been mediocre. I’m glad Sandy’s Spiel has come into the forefront as an outlet for information I can trust. Keep up the great work.

  5. Sandy, you do a great job with High School Basketball and your time and work are greatly appreciated!! However leaving AJ Jones from McEachern completely off any 6-A List was hard to believe. Maybe you need to slide over to our part of town more often lol
