White County
2023 5-10 W Naomi Roberts
Naomi Roberts is one of the most talented players in North Georgia. It’s true. Her versatile skill set is for real. She hasn’t put up huge varsity numbers yet, but that is a product of her unselfish nature and a deep White County team that plays 10 players a night. Roberts can do it all. I love when she is aggressive offensively and hunts her points. She shoots the three well and really impressed with her ability to get to the rim and convert through contact. Naomi had a handful of tough And-1s and scored with her back to the basket on an up-and-under. I initially viewed Roberts maybe more of a combo-forward when I first caught her last season, but I think her ball handling is smooth enough to allow her to consistently play on the wing full-time. Roberts is also a burgeoning playmaker with her vision. Defensively, I loved how she attacked in the press and applied relentless on-ball pressure with aggressive hands. Roberts is flying under the radar. The Swiss Army Knife a quality pick up at the D-II level and a legitimate steal for any level lower.
2025 5-3 PG Mya Yeh
Mya left a positive first impression last year when I saw her during White County’s preseason scrimmage against Rabun County and she once again looked good today. She’s a true point guard that protects the ball and pushes effectively. She’s a good shooter that also can get downhill and finish with floaters in traffic. Even though she’s often the smallest player on the floor, Yeh finds opportunities to sneak in for rebounds. Mya will be a significant part of many wins over the course of her career as a floor general.

2023 5-4 G Chandler Weaver
Part of a deep roster with plenty of quality young guards, the elder statesman Chandler Weaver found her niche with her defensive intensity. Her aggressive on-ball pressure sparked her offense. Weaver looked good moving her feet and made opposing guards uncomfortable. She keyed the full court press against St. Pius, collecting 5 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists and 4 steals in a 20-minute running clock scrimmage.

Chestatee
2024 5-8 G Riley Black
RB150 plowed her way though defenses as I have come accustom to. Black cleared rebounds and got a head of steam, weaving through transition defenders and getting all the way to the rim, now her signature play. Black does a good job of going behind her back smoothly to shift directions and get downhill. She powered her way to multiple And-1s and led her team in rebounding each scrimmage. As I’ve seen over the offseason, Black has been taking advantage of all the attention she draws as a driver, now able to dart in dump off passes to open teammates on the block. Riley got all her points in the paint. With her high usage rate, she will have to be sure to keep her dribbles efficient and not over pound the ball when working her way inside. Continuing to develop her three-point shot and mid-range along with becoming an impact defender are crucial areas that will help determine just how good she can really be.

2026 5-6 W Savannah Petty
I loved what I saw out of Savannah Petty, especially against St. Pius. The incoming freshman served as a sparkplug off the bench. Petty has a sturdy build and won’t be pushed around at the varsity level. She played with great energy and was able to help out on the glass and force turnovers. I could see her coming off the bench and making a hustle play to energize the War Eagles in an important spot.
2023 5-5 Brenna Williams
I thought Brenna Williams had a very nice day. The reserve guard looked quick on her feet, flying around the floor providing effort. She buried a three, blocked a shot, had some assists and scored on a nice drive to the basket.
2025 5-10 F Payton Cable
Entering Year 2, Payton Cable will see an enormous role change, now the trusted anchor of the backline of the defense. Cable looks like she has gotten stronger since the end of last season and is playing with confidence offensively. While she’s been known to draw charges and supply rebounding support, on Friday she also scored from all three levels. She hit a corner three, a baseline jumper and slashed for a layup. Cable has a chance to develop into a sneaky good stretch-four.
St. Pius X
2025 6-0 C Annabella Sheridan
Annabella Sheridan was a bright spot inside for St. Pius. She’s a big body that rebounds and blocks shots. While she can bang inside, she also showed a soft touch with her jump shot, hitting a three and a pull-up. She converted from the foul line and overall had a nice day of work.
Gilmer
2024 5-7 W Lucy Ray
Lucy Ray did some good things for Gilmer. It felt like she was always around the ball, whether rebounding, scoring or playing defense. Ray has a nice touch on her jumper. She hit a pull-up from the mid-range and drilled a corner three. She’s got a strong build and can power her way through contact.
2025 5-10 F Madison Bradshaw
Part of a bright young cast, Madison Bradshaw should play a significant role in the Gilmer’s rebuild. She’s a long athlete that showed flashes of being a potential inside-out difference maker.
2025 5-6 G Aliza Chastain
Aliza has a pretty outside shot. If she’s able to get her feet set, she can connect at a high rate. Chastain has some quickness with the ball and looked good in spurts as a playmaker for others.
