2023 6-1 C Kamryn Grier – Banks County
Playing at less than 100% with a bad back, Kamryn Grier was impressive before an injured ankle sidelined her in the third quarter. Grier finished with 14 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 blocks. A double-double machine averaging around 18 points and 14 rebounds per game when healthy, Grier is a load to deal with inside. She finishes with both hands and loves to play with her back to the basket and spin her way to the hoop. Grier has elite feet on the low block, using up-and-unders and even eurosteps paired with ball fakes when she attacks off the bounce. Her shot is difficult to block as she uses her shoulders well and has no problem powering through defenders and scoring through contact. In fact, Grier is used to the rough nature of the interior. She will carve out space with her elbows when hauling in rebounds. Grier delivered a possible broken nose when she was getting an opponent off her inside, busting her open. Kamryn moves well for her size and can get down the floor and seal deep in the paint. Grier is a legit D-I post presence. Her offensive skill level and rebounding are dominant, especially at the Class 2A level. College coaches will want to get to Homer, Georgia to check out the physical junior that will only get better.

2024 5-5 G Addison Hoard – Banks County
With Grier injured, Addison Hoard carried the load offensively as the focus turned to the perimeter. The sharp sophomore poured in 13 of her 20 points in the third quarter and collected 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals and 1 block. Hoard is a nice athlete and a well-rounded offensive threat. She can knockdown perimeter jumpers both off the catch or the dribble. When she attacks baseline, she knows to square her shoulders and can finish through contact. Hoard has some wiggle in her ball handling and has upside to get even more creative. She’s good-looking young guard that will be a nice prospect come senior season.

2023 5-10 F Ava Watson – North Gwinnett
It was a coming out party for Ava Watson in North Gwinnett’s 63-58 win over Banks County. It was the best I’ve ever seen Watson, a combo-forward who is loaded with intrigue. Ava has a strong athletic frame with quality size. She can play either inside or out which creates mismatches at the high school level. She still has room for growth if she wants to be a full-time wing, as her perimeter skills will need some refinement. Right now she’s more of a stretch-four. Watson got involved early on, picking off two passes and going coast-to-coast with layups. In the second quarter she converted two hard drives. Watson would finish with 24 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals and 2 blocks. She scored around the rim with both hands and would use the rim as a shield when scoring on reverse layups. Watson stepped outside and canned a three and was 5-6 from the foul line. Watson can defend posts and guard on the perimeter in spurts. It will be interesting to see how her wing skills develop. Ava could draw attention from D-II schools come senior season.

2023 5-6 PG Aaniyah Allen – Elbert County
Though she did end up pouring in nine points in the fourth quarter, Aaniyah Allen was able to control the majority of the game without scoring as Elbert County took down Calvary Day 58-46, jumping out to a quick 15-0 start sparked by Allen’s defensive presence in the press. The junior stuffed the stat sheet with 15 points, 9 rebounds, 8 assists, 4 steals and 1 block. Allen’s decision making in transition shined. Whenever the Blue Devils were out and running, especially in advantage situations, Aaniyah always made perfectly timed passes to set up teammates for layups. Her willingness to crash the boards and her quickness laterally on defense make up for her lack of size. Allen should be on D-II and NAIA radars.
2023 5-5 G Niya Moon – Elbert County
Aniya Moon caught fire, drilling 5 threes including four in the third quarter which broke the game open, turning a 25-18 advantage into a 45-29 cushion. Moon is a svelte guard with endless energy. Her hustle in the press is infectious. On Saturday her outside shooting shined. She finished with 19 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 block. She cashed in on a mid-range jumper and was almost automatic when she had her feet set on the catch.
2023 5-7 CG Hannah Cail – Calvary Day
A sluggish 15-0 start did in Calvary Day against Elbert County. The Cavs cut the lead to 25-18 at the half, but a three-point barrage from Class 2A’s No. 1 team ballooned a 45-29 gap that Calvary Day was unable to overcome. As the game wore on, Hannah Cail got more comfortable. She connected on 3 threes and scored 13 of her game-high 19 points in the second half to go along with 5 rebounds and 1 steal. Cail’s a smooth player. She handles the ball with ease and she’s got a pretty three-point shot with range. Hannah has a very high skill level but I would have liked to see her play more aggressive early on and with a sense of urgency. When she turned it on in the fourth quarter, it was too late to make a dent in the score. Cail can take over games with her shooting and her ability to maneuver around defenses. Hannah plays at her own pace and doesn’t get rushed. Planting her foot and getting downhill with a burst will be an area of growth for her over her final two seasons. Developing a killer mindset and sometimes even forcing herself on the game could be a good thing. She has a D-I level skillset and can be the best guard on the floor almost every time she suits up. Hunting her shot and playing at a quicker tempo will help her long term. Cail should be near the top of D-II wish lists and should be tracked closely by D-I schools.

2022 5-5 PG Mahkayla Premo – Calvary Day
If Hannah Cail is ice, Mahkayla Premo is fire. She plays with great energy and uses her quickness and speed to breakdown defenders. Premo, much like Cail, got more into a flow in the second half. She was able to get into the lane and kick out to shooters. When she looked to score, Premo did her damage in the paint with slicing drives. She recorded 15 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 1 steal. Mahkayla is a hidden gem in Savannah. She could thrive at the D-III level and should be a name D-II schools are familiar with. In the right system, Premo could be the perfect sparkplug as an on-ball defender and a facilitator in a dribble drive offense.

2022 5-9 PG Sydney Bolden – Loganville
As a key senior class exited the building in 2021, all eyes turned to Sydney Bolden to see what she could bring to the table her senior season. Bolden played a beautiful game on Saturday as a true leader serving as the engine for Loganville as the Red Devils collected a 52-40 win over North Cobb Christian. Bolden did everything she could to ensure a victory as she piled up 14 points, 4 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals. Sydney is a wiry guard packed with athleticism and a high motor. She scored on drives to the hoop and converted live-ball turnovers into runout layups. Bolden’s court vision was tremendous, seeing the floor and delivering dimes as she got downhill and drew the attention of the defense. Sydney’s ability to stuff the stat sheet and her effectiveness as a two-way player is why Canisius and Bethune-Cookman have offered.

2024 6-4 C Emaya Lewis – Loganville
It was a momentous day for Emaya Lewis. Not only did she dominate the interior with 16 points, 14 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 blocks, she did so with a smile on her face afterwards. Lewis showed a new dimension of her game. She’s always been a mobile post that runs the floor well, but on Saturday she was grabbing rebounds and pushing the ball up the court herself. Her confidence and offensive game are growing quickly. She did a nice job scoring in the paint and didn’t get knocked off balance or look frail against North Cobb Christian’s physical frontline. Emaya’s development is on the right track. Her glimmers of potential are starting to become long lasting rays of production. Already with a Stony Brook offer in hand, Lewis has a chance to skyrocket up recruiting boards over the course of her career and become one of the top 2024 bigs in Georgia.
2024 5-9 W Alexis Healy – North Cobb Christian
Alexis Healy made a living in the corners as she drilled 4 threes and finished with 12 points, 10 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 steals. The lefty has a unique stroke but when she has her feet set and can focus in on the rim, she can light it up. Her floor stretching capabilities forced Loganville to open up the second half playing box-and-one to limit her looks. Only a sophomore, Healy has time to add even more to her arsenal.
2024 5-5 PG Chit-Chat Wright – Wesleyan
Outmanned Johns Creek couldn’t keep pace with the young and explosive backcourt of Wesleyan. Chit-Chat Wright caught fire beyond the arc, dumping in 7 threes on her way to 31 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 3 steals, a career day. Wright let it fly off the catch and would pull-up off the dribble as she snapped her wrist and held her follow through as her threes would rain down. The quick playmaker was elusive with the ball in her hands as a facilitator, surveying the floor and making the right reads. Her size may detract some college coaches from her down the road if she doesn’t grow, but Wright has a big game and is a D-I floor general upon graduation. Buy stock now.

2025 5-9 G Londyn Walker – Wesleyan
Londyn Walker isn’t built like a freshman. She’s a big physical off-guard that can play either the 2 or 3 on the perimeter. She has a great nose for the ball and plays extremely hard, at some points overpowering her opposition. Walker poured in 22 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 seals. She absorbs contact when getting downhill and is a force on the glass. Most of her points came in the paint, but she did bank in a jumper and hit a long two. Even up big in the fourth quarter, Walker brought major effort on defense and turned steals into transition points. We will be hearing a lot about Walker over the course of her four years.
2024 5-7 G Audrey Ekoue-Bla – Johns Creek
I liked what I saw out of Audrey Ekoue-Bla. She’s an active guard that plays hard. With Georgia Tech-signee Paris Miller out for the season, Ekoue-Bla has to take on more point guard duties, which can only benefit her moving forward. She’s a good slasher that can also space out the defense with her outside shooting. Audrey nailed 3 threes and finished with 15 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal. Ekoue-Bla and Johns Creek as a whole will undergo growing pains with Miller gone, but it will be a valuable season for each individual to see more responsibilities than maybe they were expecting going into the year. Keep an eye on Ekoue-Bla moving forward.
2025 5-6 PG Tatum Brown – Grayson
Already with a George Mason offer in hand, Tatum Brown showcased her immense talent level as she nearly outscored Troup County, dropping in 18 points in a 71-19 rout. Brown had her outside shot working, drilling four high-arcing three-pointers that touched nothing but the bottom of the net. Brown excels at pushing the ball in transition. She sees the floor very well and does a nice job balancing her scoring with her playmaking. Brown finished with 2 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals. She will be one of the most heavily recruited point guards in the state over her four years.
2024 6-1 W Erin Rodgers – Grayson
Erin Rodgers helped ignite the onslaught, immediately crashing the offensive glass for a putback to open the scoring. With her length and well-rounded skillset, Rodgers can play 1-5. She’s a matchup nightmare with her versatility. She can step outside to shoot the three or create off the dribble as both a scorer and facilitator. Rodgers doesn’t shy away from contact when she finds herself in the paint and can convert And-1 opportunities. She posted 13 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals and 2 blocks. Rodgers has multiple Low and Mid-Major offers. She is a future High Major player with an elite ceiling.
2024 5-4 PG Angie Dowdell – Troup County
Nothing went right for Troup County as they ran into a Grayson buzzsaw, but Angie Dowdell brings optimism for the future. She’s a wiry athlete that plays hard. She slashes into the lane and competes on the glass. Her quickness makes her a quality defender that can stay in front of most. Polishing her game and adding outside range will help her long-term.
2022 5-6 G Kaitlyn Robinson – Druid Hills
Kaitlyn Robinson missed the first half due to ACT testing and got to the gym with Druid Hills trailing 28-13. If Robinson was there for the full game, the 61-57 loss could have been completely different as Robinson came out firing, dropping 25 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals in just two quarters of work. Robinson scored in every way imaginable. She attacked the rim and finished with floaters and converted three And-1 layups. She drilled 3 threes and could score off the dribble. Robinson is a good athlete with wide shoulders. She keeps constant pressure on the defense with her three-level scoring touch. Kaitlyn is a quality option for D-II, NAIA and JUCO programs.
2023 5-6 G Ajanae Jones – Lanier
Listed at 5-foot-6, Ajanae Jones’ motor and nose for the ball put her in a position to make plays consistently in Lanier’s 61-57 win over Druid Hills. She tallied 19 points, 11 rebounds and 4 steals, making a living at the line going 9-14. Jones has a strong build and uses her strength to outmuscle bigger players. Combining her quickness with her physicality, Jones has a strong final two season ahead of her.
