2023 6-6 W Tycen McDaniels – Spencer
Not many people outside of Columbus know about Tycen McDaniels but that is changing rapidly. The entire Kennesaw State staff swarmed over to watch the end of Spencer’s win over St. Francis. While they may have been checking in on Seth Hubbard, surely McDaniels caught their eye as well. At 6-foot-6 and likely still growing, McDaniels is blossoming into a two-way game changer. His offensive game is developing at a steady pace, able to hit the three, attack off the dribble and crash the glass. A nasty putback slam woke up everyone in attendance. Tycen’s length and springy legs give him major upside defensively, able to stick with any position and erase shots at the rim. In Spencer’s high-octane full court press, McDaniels is at the top wreaking havoc. A breakout season is on the brink for McDaniels. Buy stock now.
2023 6-4 G Parrish Johnson – Kell
With Scoot Henderson and a crucial 2021 class gone, Kell will look for leadership and firepower this upcoming season. PJ Johnson looks ready to step up as a primary scoring option on the perimeter. The game looks to be slowing down for the long-armed junior who has shown flashes over his first two seasons. Johnson was effective against North Gwinnett on Saturday when he looked for his offense. Parrish has a sharp jumper and was able to utilize the one and two-dribble pull-up to his advantage. Johnson used his length as a rebounder and as a defender getting deflections.
2023 6-1 G David Hansraj – River Ridge
The interior of River Ridge is set, it’s guard play that will determine the Knights’ ceiling. Lefty David Hansraj stepped up last season as the team’s second leading scorer and will be asked to continue his development into his upperclassmen years. Hansraj has a steady scoring touch. He mixes in drives with mid-range jumpers and threes. David brings a burst of energy and athleticism to the backcourt. He led the comeback against Peachtree Ridge, scoring 10 of his game-high 16 points in the second half to rally for a 45-41 win.

2023 6-2 PG Mansir Williamson – Centennial
Every year the game has gotten easier and easier for Mansir Williamson. The reliable stat sheet stuffing guard doesn’t put up numbers based solely on superior athleticism or size, he gets the job done with a high IQ and advanced level of skill. Williamson understands how to attack defenses and when to play the role of facilitator vs. scorer. Down 27-20 at the half to East Coweta with four points coming from the foul line, Williamson began to search for his offense, finishing with 14 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals. Mansir showed his toughness and poise, hitting a spinning shot in the lane at the buzzer to claim a 48-46 victory.

2024 6-5 G Roc Lee – Riverwood
The pure size and athleticism of Jalen “Roc” Lee jumps out at you. He’s chiseled with muscle and could pass as a college player. Lee provided highlight dunks in a rout of Providence Christian (AL). Roc is a freight train when he gets a head of steam downhill. He can play bully ball at the rim and outmuscle defenders on the glass. Lee had a nice one-legged fadeaway out of the post and later hit a three-pointer. Consistently hitting from the perimeter will likely be an area of focus as he can power his way to the cup already. On defense, he can swallow up smaller guards and can defend almost anyone with his blend of size, strength and speed. Lee finished with 15 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals.

2024 6-2 PG Karris Bilal – Riverwood
While Roc Lee can simply overpower opponents, Karris Bilal relies on a smooth precise approach to beat teams. Bilal is an active defender that moves his feet well and can knock away steals which he turns into transition points. In the half court, Bilal has a quick first step. Karris does a good job getting to his spots as he likes the one-dribble pull-up from the mid-range. When getting to the hoop, Bilal had some tough takes finishing off the glass. The Class 6A Freshman of the Year posted 16 points, 2 rebounds and 5 steals in the 54-32 win.
2024 6-9 F Aiden Sherrell – Norcross
I love Aiden Sherrell’s upside, as I’m sure almost anyone else with two eyes does as well. At 6-foot-9, he spaces the floor and shoots the outside shot extremely well. With an already well above-average jumper that extends beyond the three-point line, it will be interesting to see what other areas Sherrell develops in. He’s got upside in the low post as a rebounder and skilled scorer but I think working on his handle and helping him transition more out to the wing could be where he ends up. Either way, Sherrell is a threat to score at all three levels and is an exciting prospect to keep an eye on.
