ATL SummerSlam: 2025 Top Performers

Annarose Tyre
2025 5-8 G Annarose Tyre – Georgia Flames – Lambert
The star of the week and possibly the hottest stock-riser in Georgia over the past month was Annarose Tyre. Over three games between War Games and SummerSlam I saw Tyre average 18.7 points, 4 rebounds and 1.3 assists while burying 14 threes. Annarose’s game has evolved. Early in her career she was more of a downhill attacker. She loved to find creases in the defense and ball fake defenders before going up for layups. This new version of Tyre sees her almost exclusively shoot threes, but not just any three. Annarose has some of the deepest range in Georgia. Once she’s two steps over half court, she is a threat to launch. She has a lightning quick trigger and loves to use her quick one-dribble step-back to evade defenders. With the Georgia Flames, a team heavily predicated on three-point shooting, Tyre also showed the ability to penetrate defenses and kick out to open shooters with zippy passes. D-II programs are the latest to jump in with Lenoir-Rhyne and UNC Pembroke offering in mid-July. As long as the tough-nosed playmaker strays from becoming one-dimensional and continues to mix in downhill drives as both a scorer and passer, I think a nice handful of offers are still on the horizon.

Asunti Porter2025 5-7 G Asunti Porter – Team Elite Hubbard 3SGB – Lakeside-Evans
Asunti Porter is a name to know for non-D-I schools. The 1,000-point scorer was a consistent producer for Team Elite Hubbard, who finished 3-1, losing in the Booker T Division Championship.  Porter has a quick first step. She beats opponents in a variety of ways. She shoots the three both off the catch and off the dribble and is always ready to get out in transition. Asunti netted three three-pointers in the two games I watched, going for 16 points, 1 rebound, 3 assists and 2 steals vs. the Bristol Pistols before dropping 19 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal against the Georgia Dream Team, including scoring the game-winning layup with seconds left. D-II and NAIA schools will want to take a look at Porter her senior season.

Shaniya Sanders
2025 5-10 W Shaniya Sanders – Team Elite Hubbard 3SGB – Josey
D-II programs are hovering around Shaniya Sanders. She finished GBCA Live with an explosive 20-point, 10-rebound, 5-three performance against Etowah in June and carried over her diverse output into the July Live Period. Sanders posted 10 points, 13 rebounds and 5 steals against the Bristol Pistols and recorded 14 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists, 4 steals and 3 blocks against the Georgia Dream Team, netting a total of six threes between the two games. Shaniya has a 3&D type game. With her size and mobility, Sanders can play multiple positions both offensively and defensively. She is capable of guarding inside and out and does damage on offense both as an offensive rebounder and of course a floor spacer. Shaniya has the toughness to serve as a stretch-four at the next level and can bolster a lineup’s length if played at the two or the three. I am bullish on Sanders heading into her senior season.

2025 5-10 W Ariyah Burke – Georgia Dream Team – Jackson
I really liked the first impression Ariyah Burke made this weekend. Burke is a tough customer. She can play 2-4 with her physicality and high motor. She is strong in the paint as a rebounder and has an aggressive mindset with the ball, sneaky good off the dribble not only as a scorer but as a distributor as well. Ariyah finishes with both hands inside and has a respectable jump shot, netting a mid-range jumper and a three-pointer against Team Elite Hubbard. Burke compiled 18 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals and 1 block in a 62-59 loss. Ariyah is a nice sleeper that JUCOs among other levels should be aware of.

Jazlyn Johnson2025 6-1 W Jazlyn Johnson – Georgia Dream Team – Central-Macon
Augusta State offered Jazlyn Johnson after watching her put up 13 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 blocks against Team Elite Hubbard. The 3&D prototype drilled three three-pointers and used her length to score in the paint on offense and alter shots on defense. Johnson poses mismatches with her versatile offensive game. She’s effective on baseline out of bounds lobs, catching and keeping the ball high to finish from five-feet. If she slots in at the four, she’s often quicker than who is guarding her and can make opposing bigs uncomfortable with how far out they have to guard her due to her three-point shot. Staying consistent through the full 32 minutes and adding more to her game off the dribble will help her reach her ceiling. Johnson will have plenty of chances to fill up the box score this season with the Lady Chargers as she returns as the team’s leading scorer. Fort Lauderdale, Central Georgia Tech, Alcorn State, Virginia Union and Georgia Southwestern all offered earlier this summer.

Mikayla Johnson2025 5-10 W Mikayla Johnson – Team SSB – Hardaway
After a slow start highlighted by a 28-12 halftime deficit, Mikalya Johnson got hot and nearly carried Team SSB to a come from behind win against the Georgia Flames before ultimately falling 58-51. Johnson poured in 14 of her team-high 16 points in the second half to pair with her 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals. Johnson found the range on her jump shot, getting to her spots on the floor. She netted two threes, a mid-range pull-up and scored on a cut, a floater, a putback and in transition after collecting a steal.  When Mikayla is at her best, she’s a three-level scorer. She can sometimes put it in cruise control, but when Johnson steps on the gas she is an effective two-way standout with her size, able to get into passing lanes and initiate fast breaks. Jackson State offered prior to War Games and SummerSlam.

2025 5-11 W JaCorra Russell – Team SSB – Early County
JaCorra went down with a late leg injury, but before she did she was giving the Georgia Flames issues with her athleticism and effort. Russell recorded 11 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 4 steals, scoring all her points in the second half. JaCorra scores most of her points based off hustle. She shoots into passing lanes, attacks rebounds and gets out in transition. Russell is wiry and bouncy. While she did bank in a three, JaCorra is at her best in the paint when rebounding and slashing. She is an interesting project at the next level and could be a nice fit for JUCOs looking for raw talent with upside.

Gracie Byford2025 5-5 PG Gracie Byford – FBC Legacy Jr. National – Carrollton
The high-octane offense of Gracie Byford had some colleges talking after FBC Legacy beat VA Impact 58-45 behind Byford’s 14 points, 2 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Gracie drilled three three-pointers including two pull-ups in transition. Byford added two drives highlighted by an And-1 take. Confidence is never an issue with Gracie. She is a skilled scorer on the perimeter and has enough wiggle with the ball to slip past defenders to create draw and kick scenarios. D-III, NAIA and maybe D-II schools could get involved soon.
