2027 5-9 G Giaunni Rogers – St. Francis
One of the best all-around scoring guards in the state, Giaunni is a true three-level scoring threat. Rogers is a big guard, physically strong. Her powerful frame doesn’t slow down her footspeed. Giaunni is shifty with the ball, using a sharp in-and-out dribble to free herself for step-back jumpers. Rogers also uses a low crossover to change direction when getting to her pull-up. Giaunni hit all sorts of tough shots against North Forsyth, finishing with 13 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 steals. It has been a busy summer for Rogers as offers have started to pour in. Houston, SMU, Pittsburgh, Illinois and Wake Forest all offered since April while Florida popped a bid after GBCA Live.
2027 6-3 C Aila Courtenay – St. Francis
Back after a knee injury cost her nearly her entire sophomore season, Aila looked dominant in spurts against North Forsyth. Courtenay has a tremendous frame, wide and strong. She does a great job using her size to get post possession, burying defenders under the basket when sealing. Aila finishes through contact well and is a one-and-done rebounder. Courtenay has reestablished her stock among college coaches this offseason. Mississippi State and Georgia State offered earlier in the month before Louisville offered after watching at GBCA.
2027 5-6 G Adelyn Thompson – Rabun County
A strong sophomore campaign resulted in a Class A D-I Second Team All-State selection after averaging 13.8 points, 2.5 assists and 2 steals on 32% three-point shooting. Those numbers should climb even higher as an upperclassman especially her three-point percentage now playing alongside Millie Southards. Thompson is one of the best shooters in the state and now that she can play off the ball a little more, even more clean looks will come her way. Thompson drained three threes against Gilmer and buried four against Lamar County while averaging 15.5 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals and 1 block between the two games. Adelyn catches fire in a hurry with her three-point shot but she can do more than just stretch the floor. Thompson has become a very good playmaker out of the pick-and-roll, deftly hitting rollers with touch passes. She scores with both hands and does so at a high level of difficulty, attacking the rim against Lamar County spinning back to a lefty floater from about 8-feet in traffic. Thompson is starting to amass a resume for her late game heroics, a big-shot maker in crunch time, her top moment coming in the state playoffs last year with a dagger three to beat Armuchee 48-47. Adelyn is progressing along nicely. College programs should be fully aware of her by now.

2027 6-2 C Lindsey Kopacek – Starr’s Mill
The physical workhorse has emerged as one of the top double-double threats in Georgia after averaging 14.6 points, 12.6 rebounds and 1.9 blocks as a sophomore. Lindsey is a grown woman inside. She demands double teams upon the catch. Kopacek scores with a strong drop step but can also space out to shoot the outside jumper or attack off the dribble. She finishes with both hands and draws plenty of fouls. In a loss against McEachern, I really appreciated how well she rebounded in traffic with two hands. While Lindsey left some points at the line, especially in a one-for-two setting shooting 2-6, she still compiled 12 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and 2 blocks battling a big physical Indian frontcourt. I have Kopacek pegged as a D-I center. College programs were talking about her all week.
2027 6-0 W Ava Glover – Starr’s Mill
In watching Ava Glover, a D-I coach noted to me that they thought Glover was the top prospect for Starr’s Mill. At 6-foot tall with a knockdown three-point shot, I could see why college coaches value her so highly. The big shooter got hot in the second half against McEachern, pouring in 13 points off three three-pointers to go along with 2 rebounds, 3 steals and 1 block. The physical tools and the shooting touch are definitely there to ascend up recruiting boards. Continuing to diversify her offense game will help Glover reach her ceiling. I’m interested to follow her development.
2027 5-8 G Elisa Malone – McEachern
I really liked what I saw from Elisa Malone as she compiled 13 points and 2 rebounds in a win over Starr’s Mill. The speed and athleticism of Malone created scoring chances using a quick first step to get to the rim. She attacked baseline and found a hoop on a coast-to-coast take, finishing with a scoop layup. Maybe most impressive was how well Malone shot the ball. She drilled three threes to loosen up the defense. With her length and speed, I could envision Malone becoming a splashy two-way standout.
2027 6-0 G Carly Bass – Sequoyah
It was a big week for Carly in front of D-I coaching staffs. Entering with just a Campbell offer which she pulled back in June of 2024, I would think more programs are ready to enter the fray after watching her at GBCA Live. Bass’ production is heavily predicated on her three-point shot and when she is hitting, she can take over games in a blink. Carly went 4-8 from deep against Ware County as she dumped in a game-high 20 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal and 1 block in a 58-41 win. Bass also mixed in some takes to the rim, penetrating for layups and drive-and-kick opportunities. When Carly is able to make plays downhill and avoid becoming a volume three-point shooter, she is at her best. With her size, length and strength, she should have no issue getting two feet in the paint whenever she wants and is equally impactful on defense when guarding along the perimeter. Over her four games at GBCA, Bass averaged 19.8 points. Carly is a D-I shot maker.
2027 5-7 G Bailey Denton – Ware County
Denton hunted her offense against Sequoyah, resulting in 13 points, 1 assist and 1 steal, draining three three-pointers. Denton sank two threes off the catch and the other off the dribble. She converted an And-1 drive. Bailey wasn’t afraid to attack the basket, keeping the defense honest with her downhill game. Denton should play a huge role her final two seasons as a shot maker and sneaky good passer for the Gators.

2027 5-6 G Kelsey Arp – Armuchee
Kelsey is an extension of her head coach/mother on the floor. Arp is a quick-footed high-energy guard. She turns corners and looks to attack the basket. In a 43-38 win over Athens Academy, Arp scored on a baseline drive, a coast-to-coast take and a floater en route to finishing with 14 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists shooting 4-5 from the foul line.
2027 5-8 F Aubrey McConkey – Armuchee
I thought Aubrey really set the tone in Armuchee’s win over Athens Academy. McConkey is an undersized forward that works hard in the paint. Strong and aggressive, Aubrey scores on post-ups with righty and lefty hook shots and can attack off the dribble when guarded by larger players. McConkey competes well defensively when guarding bigger posts. The sturdy anchor is vocal when calling out screens and contests shots in the paint well for her height. Aubrey went for 10 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal and 2 blocks, shooting 3-5 from the charity stripe.
2027 5-8 G Camdyn Carter – Heritage-Catoosa
A premier shooter from Northwest Georgia, Cam can take over games in a hurry with her perimeter shot making. Carter’s experimental surgery to get her back on the hardwood after an ACL tear worked wonders as she came on strong down the stretch of her sophomore season. Now with her injury just a distant memory, Carter will try to build on last year’s success. Camdyn is a big guard that plays at her own pace. She is a knockdown three-point shooter on the catch when her feet are set. Carter has a slightly unique release point, shooting in front of her face but she is accurate and has shown that she can even get to her spots off the dribble with pull-ups. When attacking downhill, Cam has the physicality to absorb contact and still finish. She posted 14 points, 5 rebounds and 3 steals with four made threes in a 44-27 win over Elbert County, handling the Blue Devils’ intense scrappy defense without issue.
2027 5-5 PG Jada Little – Woodland-Stockbridge
Jada was a bright spot in a loss to Dawson County. Little is a quick penetrator that gets downhill and draws fouls. She has a nice in-between game with short jumpers in the lane. Jada is good at getting out in transition and in the half court, can loosen up the defense with the occasional three-point shot. Little went 4-5 from the foul line on her way to 14 points, 1 assist and 2 steals.
2027 6-0 C Marleigh Dale – Banks County
Banks County has a physical workhorse inside with Marleigh Dale. The junior is strong with her wide frame which helps her keep distance from shot blockers when scoring around the rim. Dale works hard to get good post position and is adept at finishing through fouls. She scored on two And-1s against West Forsyth as she totaled 9 points, 6 rebounds and 1 steal. Her toughness will land her a spot on a college roster two years from now.
2027 6-0 C Ella Cowan – West Forsyth
I loved what I saw from Ella Cowan in West Forsyth’s win over Banks County. The athleticism and motor are undeniable. Long and strong, Cowan high-points rebounds with both hands, rim runs for post-ups and chews away at the offensive glass. The southpaw excels at getting to her left hand. She catches lobs and uses a drop step to elevate to score in crowds. Continuing to craft low post moves with her right hand and expanding her range to play on the perimeter in spurts could really help her reach her ceiling. Her footspeed can be a major boon especially in the high post. Ella posted 18 points, 10 rebounds and 3 steals. All the physical tools are there for Ella Cowan to breakout, as is the coaching with former Miss Georgia Basketball and Gatorade Georgia Player of the Year Jenna Staiti on staff for post play mentorship.
2027 5-9 SG Sydney Drohan – West Forsyth
College coaches were asking me who is number 11? That number 11 was Sydney Drohan. A nicely sized off-guard on the perimeter with length, Sydney made her mark with her three-point shooting. Drohan drilled three three-pointers, ran the floor for a putback and scored off a steal as she tallied 13 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal and 1 block. It was a positive first impression for Sydney.
2027 5-6 G Jade Kitchens – Washington County
I am high on Jade Kitchens. I think she is one of the best guards in Middle Georgia. Kitchens is athletic with a good feel for the game. She understands what is needed of her and balances hunting her offense with setting up teammates. Jade is a good passer in tight spots in the paint able to drop off bounce passes with little margin for error. Her speed is impressive. She processes plays and tracks down loose balls before others can get there. In a 49-32 win against Spencer, Jade filled up the stat sheet with 17 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals. She hit a corner three and found the rest of her points on downhill drives. With another year of development, I could see Jade becoming a very attractive option for schools of multiple levels.
2027 5-9 W Iyanna Beaty – Spencer
Beaty plays hard. She picked up where she left off at PRO Summer Madness, serving as a bright spot against Washington County with 15 points, 15 rebounds and 4 blocks. Beaty is a competitive offensive rebounder, physical and aggressive. Iyanna was able to stretch the floor and score away from when she does the dirty work, hitting three three-pointers from the corners. With more refinement to her game, I think Beaty can become a nice prospect. She’s a sleeper in Columbus.
2027 5-5 G Kourtney Kalman – Pope
I liked Kourtney last year at the Sandy’s Spiel Fall League. I think she’s ready for a big season as a three-point specialist in the corners. Kourtney fills it up off the catch, a lethal floor spacer. Now an upperclassman, I could see Kalman continuing to add to her game as an off the dribble threat with quickness. In a win over South Forsyth, Kalman dropped in four threes for 14 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 1 steal.

2027 5-5 G Hadley Dotson – Murray County
Hadley is an underrated grinder that gets the job done. Dotson was Murray County’s most consistent source of offense in a come from behind 47-46 win over Brunswick, battling for a team-high 14 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist and 3 steals. Hadley scored in a variety of ways against Brunswick’s aggressive length. She sank two threes, scored on two drives – one a coast-to-coast take and got to the foul line where she went 1-1. Hadley’s stock is trending up.
2027 5-11 F Jakai Alston – Brunswick
Jakai is unique. Powerfully built with a strong sturdy frame, Alston is a mismatch. While she looks like a bruiser – which she is – she is also incredibly nimble with competent guard skills. Jakai is a beast on the glass, exploding off the ground to yank down caroms with two hands. Upon rebounding, she can start her own fastbreaks. Her activity level is impressive, always battling for loose balls. In a one-point loss to Murray County, Jakai scored on two putbacks, a roll and an And-1 post-up en route to 12 points, 13 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 block. Alston plays with an aggressive mean streak. She’s someone you want on your team.
2027 5-7 G Liara Stephenson – Dutchtown
Lance Stephenson’s daughter wore on Jackson County as the game went on, turning defense into offense as she scored in the open floor. Listed at 5-foot-7, Liara feels taller with her long frame. She made a difference on the glass and helped ignite fastbreaks with her outlet passing. Stephenson tallied 16 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals.
2027 5-6 G Makayla Watts – Lamar County
It’s hard to believe Makayla is listed at just 5-foot-6. She is long, wiry, athletic and most importantly – active. Watts has great speed in transition, often times getting to showcase it thanks to her defensive prowess. In a 52-44 loss to Rabun County, Watts didn’t just attack the basket, she also showed promising touch as she sank a pair of threes; a crucial asset of her game which should continue to improve as she went from three made threes as a freshman to 21 last season. Makayla poured in a game-high 20 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 steals. Her energy and tone-setting defense is imperative to Lamar County’s success in the backcourt.
2027 5-10 C Ella Bleu Leverett – Lamar County
Ella Bleu is a sneaky good post player that could draw college attention by the time she is a senior. Leverett is big strong and knows how to use her body inside. She earns deep position and is patient upon the catch with her pivot. She has a drop step in her arsenal and has shown a smooth up-and-under move over the course of her career. Against Rabun County, Ella Bleu collected 8 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and 1 block.
2027 5-11 C Michelle Ezumah – Lanier
Michelle made a statement as she carried Lanier past Hampton’s frontline of 6-foot-4 Trinity Grant and 6-foot Ayana Roberts. The Longhorns led 23-11 at the half before a massive swing saw Hampton take the lead. The gameplan to regain control? Get the ball to Ezumah. Michelle finished with 21 points, 10 rebounds and 2 blocks in the 40-35 win. Michelle improves each time I see her. She has steadily added weight to her frame and in doing so has improved her balance and ability to finish through contact. Ezumah is a terrific rebounder, long-arming caroms as she earns second and third chances. Michelle finishes with her left hand and has become mobile as a ball handler, sparking fastbreaks and attacking the rim with her long strides. Maybe her most impressive moment was when she went coast-to-coast for an And-1 layup with her left hand. Ezumah is worth tracking. She is starting to come on strong heading into her final two seasons.
2027 5-9 G Audrey Lunsford – Elbert County
Audrey feels like a legit prospect. Lunsford is a big guard with tight coordination. She gets to her spots effectively and likes to play off two feet in traffic. She attacks rebounds and pushes the ball in transition where she can absorb contact and not get knocked off her line. In a loss to Heritage-Catoosa, Lunsford attacked with pull-up jumpers and floaters in the lane. While she is often asked to be the primary scorer for Elbert County, Lunsford is also a sharp passer who sees the floor off the dribble. Audrey can play both on and off the ball. Defensively, she isn’t afraid to be physical and will step in to draw a charge. Lunsford tacked on 10 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 steal in the loss.
