2022 6-3 PF Xaviera Dyer – Maynard Jackson
The most impressive performance from Gene Hill Team Camp came via Xaviera Dyer. The athletic forward was dominant in a win over Alpharetta. Dyer runs the floor gracefully, moving like a guard. She snatches rebounds and pushes the ball up the floor serving as a point-forward. Xavier scored in a variety of ways. She used her mobility and bounciness to get in position for offensive putbacks. Dyer scored on reverse layups and sank a handful of mid-range jumpers. She stretches the floor out to the three-point line and can hit the turnaround jumper in traffic out of the post. On defense she swatted any shots near her in the paint. Dyer finished with 16 points, 11 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals and 4 blocks. Zay’s mixture of size, skill and athleticism is rare. She’s worthy of Mid-Major and High Major looks.

She has been impressive. Athletic forward that runs the floor and can push the ball. Nice touch around the rim. Rebounds well. pic.twitter.com/pzOSaJHaHJ

2025 5-7 G Aliyah Weaver – Maynard Jackson
The rising freshman was unreal in Maynard Jackson’s full court press. Aliyah Weaver tallied 13 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 11 steals. Alpharetta struggled to even get the ball past midcourt thanks to Weaver’s relentless on-ball defense. She harassed ball handlers and found herself in a position to make plays the entire game. Weaver’s energy and nose for the ball will make a major impact this season.
2022 5-11 F Kaylynn Kirklen – Mt. Paran
Kaylynn Kirklen was effective in a blow out win over McEachern, collecting 10 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 4 steals. She is a versatile forward that can do a little bit of everything. On Friday she was aggressive attacking off the dribble. Kirklen can cause mismatches with her ability to play inside and out. She scored well in the low post and showed off her shooting touch from the mid-range. I like Kaylynn’s upside in college. She could be a boon at the D-II level.
2024 5-10 W Breana Griffin – Rome
Breana Griffin knows how to get to the rim. The wiry swingman is a supreme slasher that gets downhill easily. Griffin excels in transition and has the speed to beat most opponents down the floor. As she develops a consistent jump shot, her ceiling will rise. Griffin had 10 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and 1 block in a narrow loss to Grayson.
2024 6-1 W Erin Rodgers – Grayson
When Erin Rodgers decides to take over, Grayson is extremely difficult to beat. Rodgers can be having a mediocre game before flipping a switch in the second half to completely change the outcome. She scored 10 of her game-high 12 points in the second half to go with 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals and 1 block as she rallied the Rams past Rome 51-47 after trailing after the first three quarters. Rodgers is a big guard with a smooth handle. She can get into the paint and finish with eurosteps and floaters. Erin doesn’t force the issue and lets the game come to her. She understands when it’s time to hunt her offense. Rodgers is an engaged defender that uses her length to bother smaller guards. She is tough to score on one-on-one. D-I offers have begun to pile in. She will likely end up a High Major.

2025 5-5 PG Tatum Brown – Grayson
The highly touted freshman stepped up big time. Tatum Brown is a smooth operator that doesn’t show any emotion – good or bad – when on the floor. Her level-headed demeanor helps her execute in key spots. Brown did a great job getting into the paint and finishing with tear drop floaters. She has a very good handle and surveys the floor when attacking off the dribble. She had 9 points in the win.

2022 6-1 F Sariya Henry – Grayson
Sariya Henry had everything working vs. Rome. The long-armed combo-forward posted 11 points, scoring in multiple ways. She scored on a pair of layups, a mid-range jumper and sank a corner three. Henry provides energy and is a wild-card that cause matchup issues when locked in.
2024 5-8 PG Sanaa Tripp – Newton
It’s hard to find a more impressive sophomore than Sanaa Tripp, the Class 7A Freshman of the Year. Tripp is a special player that blends high level athleticism with high level skill. Tripp poured in 16 points (4 threes), 4 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals in a win over Walton. Tripp scores the ball off the dribble, able to hit step-back threes when creating space on the perimeter. Sanaa has the ball on a string and can get all the way to the basket consistently. She’s a smart player when the ball isn’t in her hands, able to cut to find open spaces for easy layups. Tripp is a very good passer that creates open looks for teammates and is a tough on-ball defender that uses quick hands and swift feet to turnover opposing guards. Tripp is a blue-chipper and a future High Major playmaker.

2024 5-6 G Frances Storey – Marietta
I was impressed by the hustle Frances Storey played with. The scrappy little guard provided great effort defensively and was always around the ball. She impacted the game on both ends of the floor with 7 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 steal and 1 block in a win over Discovery.
2023 5-9 CG Madison Morge – Trinity Christian
With Anna Denes graduated, expect more responsibilities to be put on Madison Morge’s shoulders. Morge is a dangerous three-point shooter with a pretty release. She’s comfortable playing on and off the ball. Madison is a smart passer that finds her teammates with sharp bounce passes. Her IQ and well-rounded offensive game on the perimeter will attract colleges. She will likely be in play at the D-II level come senior season.
2025 6-0 F Ava Andrews – North Paulding
The length and athleticism of Ava Andrews immediately caught my eye. She’s a wiry combo-forward that makes plays on both ends of the court. She’s got a quick first step, able to read passes and pick them off in the press. Her length allows her to pick up deflections and also block shots as a versatile defender. Andrews attacked the rim from the high post on offense. She covers a lot of ground with her long strides. Andrews has intriguing upside. Stay tuned.
2022 5-9 W Aliyah Washington – North Paulding
Aliyah Washington lit it up from deep in her first game of the day and then produced 8 points and 4 rebounds in a 48-23 blowout. Aliyah looked great with the ball in her hands. Once just a pitbull forward with a relentless pursuit for the ball, Washington has polished up her game and is a legitimate perimeter player that can still punish opponents inside. Aliyah has very good foot speed and handles the ball like a true guard. She has improved across the board in every area since I first saw her as a rising sophomore. She demands looks from the D-I and high D-II level.
