2023 6-7 F Kenneth Brayboy – Eagle’s Landing
The most impressive next level stock riser at the Lemon Street Classic for me was Kenny Brayboy. It’s rare to find a player with his physical tools and grades flying under the radar. Maryville College is one of his few listed offers, but Brayboy’s ceiling projects him much higher than the D-III level. Kenneth has improved each season as he’s gotten more and more playing time. Brayboy first of all looks the part – long, wiry and strong. He runs the floor extremely well and has major athleticism, able to catch any lobs thrown his way as he plays well above the rim. Brayboy uses his springs to his advantage when collecting rebounds and most notably defending. He’s got enough footspeed and the wingspan to defend on the perimeter capable of hedging or trapping ball screens. The versatile defender erases shots at the rim and anchors the backline of the Eagle’s Landing defense. Offensively, Brayboy has expanding range. He hit a one-dribble pull-up and later knocked down a three. Kenny finished with 12 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals and 4 blocks in a 73-50 win over Buford. Brayboy is a high character, high academic student-athlete with a 4.13 GPA and a 1380 SAT. He has D-I measurables with his size and athleticism alone. Expect D-II schools to jump in the mix quickly.

2023 6-0 PG Khylan McKennie – Eagle’s Landing
Eagle’s Landing’s most consistent guard throughout their 73-50 win over Buford was Khylan McKennie. The bouncy speed merchant set the tone with eight of his game-high 20 points coming in the first quarter, while finishing with 3 rebounds, 3 assists and 4 steals to boot.  McKennie breaks down his man and gets into the paint where he has nasty intentions for the rim. When he’s not able to finish with a slam, Khylan has the strength to score through contact, converting two And-1s on Tuesday. McKennie shoots the ball well enough to keep defenses honest as he sank a mid-range jumper and a three, but make no mistake, he wants to get downhill first. As aggressive as he is with the ball in his hands, he’s just as impactful defensively as a pesky on-ball defender.

2024 6-2 G Brennan Wansley – Buford
Wansley was a bright spot in Buford’s loss. The steady guard filled in the role Alahn Sumler (Northern Kentucky) left behind as an accurate perimeter shooter. He buried four threes, and went 4-4 from the foul line. Brennan finished with 18 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal. With another year of development to go, Wansley is trending in the right direction.

2024 5-10 PG Christian Anderson – Lovett
The Michigan-commit almost single-handedly carried Lovett to a signature win over the Christ School, NC without Kyle Walters his running mate, hurting his ankle in the first quarter and not returning. With a heavier than usual scoring burden placed on his shoulders, Anderson went 11-22 from the field and 6-11 from three as he poured in 33 points including 15 of Lovett’s 20 fourth quarter points as the Lions fell short 68-66. Anderson torched Christ School when they refused to guard him with length. Anderson has such a quick first move with the ball as he has it predetermined where he wants to go with no wasted movements, catching defenders off balance as they aren’t ready to shadow him immediately off the catch. Christian creates just enough separation when getting to his spots in the mid-range and punishes defenders who don’t respect how deep his range is. Aside from his scoring outburst, Anderson added 2 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals.

2023 6-0 PG Frantzyr Chardavoine – Paulding County
Just recently eclipsing the 1,000-point barrier in his career, Frantzyr set the school-record for most three-pointers made in a career after he netted five more on Tuesday as he erupted for 35 points, 1 rebound, 1 assist and 4 steals in a wild 63-62 loss to North Cobb Christian. Chardavoine was fabulous, scoring at will with his jumper. He sank two pull-ups and another mid-range shot off the catch to blend in with his three-point barrage and slashes to the hoops, scoring from all three levels. With no Javonne Williams, Frantzyr had the neon green light flashing as he was tasked with carrying the Patriots. Chardavoine was so good at getting to where he wanted to go, using his quickness and strength off the gridiron to keep defenders at bay. While it seems his future is in football, Frantzyr packs a serious punch on the hardwood and could double up if he wanted to if he ends up at the right level.

2023 6-6 F Albert Wilson III – North Cobb Christian
When the game was on the line, who else but Albert Wilson saved the day for North Cobb Christian. Trailing Paulding County 62-58 with 43 seconds left, the Eagles shocked the Patriots with a pair of And-1 putbacks to win the game. Jacob Cruz got the first bucket and foul, but missed the free throw but Wilson was there to collect the rebound and convert through contact and sank his foul shot with 30.6 seconds left to give the Eagles the lead for good. Wilson had a slow start with five first half points but started to wear down the Patriots inside with an eight-point third quarter working the paint for a pair of putbacks and a left-handed finish. In total, Wilson would post 16 points, 12 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal and 2 blocks. While most of his work was done inside, Wilson opened his scoring with a corner three. His robust scoring arsenal and physical play make up for any lack of elite athleticism. He’s a high IQ well-polished four that can stretch out to the wing. D-I schools have shown interest over the course of his career while D-II schools should be all over him.

2023 6-5 W Khush Chauhan – Peachtree Ridge
I loved the length and easy athleticism I saw out of Khush Chauhan, my first viewing of the springy wing. Khush has such an easy lift, gliding to the rim as he takes the elevator while most others take the stairs. He’s got a package of highlight dunks, throwing down three against Calhoun in a 59-58 win, his most impressive a reverse in transition and a putback slam. Chauhan’s athleticism and activity will open doors and give him an interesting ceiling for the future. Bishop State CC has offered. Khush is a valuable defender that could blossom into a 3&D wing if he nails down a consistent outside shot. Right now slashing is his strongest offensive suit. Chauhan tallied 10 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals and 4 blocks.

2023 6-9 F Dylan Faulkner – Calhoun
Lipscomb is getting a high energy, long, bouncy forward in Dylan Faulkner. At the high school level, Faulkner can completely take over games and dominate with his ability to play above everyone else. He skies for rebounds and plays above the rim with his quick leaping skill. Faulkner has great functional strength as well. He’s wiry with lean muscle able to finish through contact and play through fouls. Faulkner had four dunks against Peachtree Ridge, putting up 20 points, 14 rebounds, 1 steal and 6 blocks. Dylan’s mobility, springiness and soft touch separate him from a lot of big men. He went 6-9 from the foul line and has shown over the course of his career he can shoot the three at a high percentage. Given his rim protection, ability to help space the floor and handle the ball in spurts, Faulkner has a chance to have a strong collegiate career.

2023 6-2 SG Amon McDowell – McDonough
Down 35-33 at the half to Lowndes, Amon McDowell put the Warhawks on his back in the third quarter to seize control taking a nine-point lead into the fourth and holding on 69-65. McDowell poured in 14 of his game-high 20 points in the frame to go with his 3 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals. Amon had it all working, nailing four threes while still attacking the rim. McDowell has quietly improved each and every season on his three-point shot. After going 19-93 (20%) as a sophomore, he hit a solid 35-99 (35%) a season ago. Now through nine games, he has already netted 17-43 at a 40% rate. You can always count on Amon to provide production away from the ball with his rebounding and defense, but the fact that he’s now a true weapon to create offense on the perimeter with his jumper makes him that much better of a prospect.

2024 6-3 W Keenan Gray – McDonough
Keenan has been a high motor stat sheet stuffer since Day 1. Gray flourishes in high tempo systems as he’s able to let his athleticism and natural instincts take over. He diagnoses plays quickly as a defender and can blow up possessions by getting deflections and steals. Keenan finishes with both hands downhill and is starting to improve his outside shot, hitting two threes against Lowndes. Gray is a versatile backcourt piece that can help play 1-3 and defend the same positions. He tallied 17 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals.

2025 6-3 PG Samuel Shoptaw – Lowndes
It was a big week for Samuel Shoptaw to be seen outside of South Georgia. Already with a South Alabama offer in tow, Shoptaw should have more coming throughout the course of his career. Sam passes the eye test. He’s strong and quick on his feet with precise body control. Shoptaw is a true point guard that sees the floor very well and has a smooth game with a tight handle. He’s really good at getting to his spots in the mid-range. He hit two jumpers inside the arc and netted a trio of threes. Sam probes the defense and finds creases that he attacks with a floater. He posted 17 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 steal in a 69-65 loss to McDonough.

2023 6-5 W Marcus Black – Lowndes
Black is an interesting prospect flying under the radar. His measurables alone are noteworthy, standing around 6-foot-5 with great athleticism. Black attacks in different ways on the perimeter. He’s got a confident three-point shot off the dribble. Marcus did a nice job getting into the paint on his drives and was comfortable identifying mismatches and going onto the block for post ups. Black is a good two-way player that provides activity on defense and switchability. Marcus finished with 16 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 blocks. He could be a D-II or JUCO candidate.
