2026 6-1 C Taylor Johnson – Northside-Warner Robins
At 6-foot-1 with a powerful build and wide shoulders, Taylor Johnson looks like a banger on the low block but her skill is much more than just that. In a 52-22 win over Thomas County Central to punch Northside-Warner Robins’ ticket to state, Johnson was in the middle of everything. The offense runs through Taylor. Playing in the post, Johnson has a strong drop step leading with her elbows. Taylor showcased a soft touch from the mid-range and the ability to put the ball on the floor in spurts. The part-time softball player has extremely nimble feet for her size but what impressed me even more was her court vision. Johnson is a very good passer out of the post and even off the dribble. She finds backdoor cutters from the high post and passes well from the low block. Defensively, she plays a cat and mouse game inside. She plays behind the post and tries to bait offensive players into three-second calls, a dangerous game but effective on Tuesday. Taylor finished with a game-high 12 points, 2 rebounds, 6 assists, 4 steals and 1 block. If she sticks with basketball full time, she’s a sneaky good prospect that college coaches should check on.
2027 5-11 F Taliyah Porter – Lee County
Maybe the most impressive player I saw on Tuesday was Taliyah Porter. Standing nearly 6-foot tall, Taliyah is fast-twitch athlete. She thrives in the high post, using a quick first step to get downhill. Porter scored three times on drives, found numerous buckets in transition by running the floor and scored from 10-feet. Taliyah has long arms and a high motor. She used a quick spin to the middle and also was comfortable shooting the post turnaround. I liked Porter’s savvy in the high post, a good decision maker that looked for cutters and could complete short passes in traffic. Taliyah poured in a game-high 18 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, 1 steal and 1 block in a 70-29 win over Houston County. Porter has the natural tools to continue to develop into a legitimate prospect. She’s a player I’m interested in tracking over her final two seasons. I would buy stock now.
2027 5-6 PG Camya Hutcherson – Lee County
I like Camya’s game. Often times you’ll find guards that are one dimensional on offense. Either strictly a shooter or exclusively a slasher. Hutcherson did a little of both against Houston County while really impressing with her jump shot, the tougher skill of the two. Camya drilled three mid-range pull-ups and sunk a top of the key three to pair with two layups in transition. Hutcherson has patience with the ball, keeping her head up while surveying the floor. She’s a quick ball handler who changes directions and can get downhill with a eurostep. Her aggressive defensive sparked multiple fastbreak opportunities in Lee County’s 41-point win. Camya tallied 13 points, 6 assists and 6 steals. Hutcherson is a good-looking prospect who could have a big summer ahead of her.
2028 5-11 F Morgan Yuhas – Houston County
New to basketball, the competition cheerleader showed flashes of a bright future. Morgan passes the eye-test with her height, length and coordination. She has some natural athleticism as a live body who can get deflections and grab rebounds. Decision making with the ball will need to improve as she was hesitant to dribble and instead opted for long crosscourt passes that got intercepted numerous times. Yuhas was most effective around the rim where she altered shots, scored on putbacks and sank a baseline jumper, finishing with a team-high 8 points, 4 rebounds and 3 steals. If Morgan puts in the work over her next three seasons, she could improve rapidly.
