2025 6-2 G Khaven Cochran – Central-Carrollton
The Region Player of the Year did a little bit of everything in Central-Carrollton’s 50-32 win over Cedartown, the Lions outscoring the Bulldogs 32-14 in the second half. Khaven had three dunks, shooting passing lanes for breakaway slams. I came away impressed with Cochran’s patience with the ball. He let plays develop and was able to find cutters for easy buckets. Khaven added two hard slashes to the rim. Cochran’s improved athleticism has transformed him from primarily a perimeter shooter into a well-rounded guard that can get downhill. He’s a true three-level scorer when he is on. His activity on defense and floor vision on offense allow him to stuff the stat sheet. Khaven tallied 12 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals in the win. D-III schools are tracking.

2026 6-3 G Chace North – Central-Carrollton
With Isaiah West missing in action, Chace North stepped up. He played atop the 1-2-2, using his size and athleticism to make Cedartown’s smaller guards uncomfortable. North made an impact on offense with his ability to get to the rim, hanging in the air to finish. He scored on a pair of cuts, a baseline drive, a floater and netted a straight away three while shooting 4-5 from the foul line. The big guard posted a game-high 17 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal. A breakout season could be on the horizon.

2024 6-2 SG Max Young – Central-Carrollton
Max got hot from beyond the arc, sinking three of his four threes in the second half as the Lions continuously gained separation from the Bulldogs. Young buried three long balls from the top of the key and utilized a one-dribble pull-up to score from 10-feet. When the lefty gets hot, he can swing momentum of a game quickly. Young finished with 14 points, 4 rebounds and 1 steal.
2025 6-5 F Quinlan Cothron – Cedartown
I loved what I saw from Quinlan Cothron in my first look. Averaging 20.1 points, 10.2 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game, Cothron is a workhorse and the main reason why the Bulldogs have improved from 0-23 to 13-14 along with first-year Head Coach Greg Cherry. Cothron is a true inside-out forward. He scores with his back to the basket, able to spin middle over his right shoulder. Cothran finishes with his left and showcases clean footwork which will only improve. Quinlan has a soft touch with his jumper. He scored by pulling up in the short-range with a turnaround jumper and overall looked very comfortable on the perimeter, capable of attacking off the dribble. Quinlan faces up in the post and is quick and skilled enough to exploit slower defenders. After scoring Cedartown’s first 11 points of the game, Cothron finished with 15 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 blocks. D-III and D-II programs will want to start tracking.

2024 6-6 W Jordyn Storey – Sonoraville
Storey is an interesting sleeper. He’s a long, fluid athlete on the wing. He has a pretty three-point stroke and can put the ball on the floor. Jordyn is an active rebounder and a rangy defender that can guard inside and out. All the tools are there to attract college coaches. He tallied 7 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist and 4 blocks in a 50-31 win over Heritage-Catoosa. Jordyn could be a valuable late addition. He should be in play for JUCO, D-III and NAIA programs.
2024 6-1 G Donovan McDaniel – Sonoraville
A big guard equipped with athleticism and strength, Donovan McDaniel passes the eye test. He gets downhill and finishes with both hands but also has the touch to open up the floor with his outside shot. McDaniel netted three threes on his way to record a game-high 14 points, 7 rebounds and 1 assist. The scholar athlete stars as a cornerback in football and is an exceptional tennis player as well. McDaniel should have plenty of options at the next level whether athletically or academically.
2024 6-8 C Bryson Shellnutt – Sonoraville
Long and lean, Bryson Shellnutt is a mobile forward that does his best work in the paint but is also agile enough to catch and be a threat on the wing. Bryson showed his toughness by rebounding in traffic and dunking on a defender. He finished with 9 points, 7 rebounds and 1 steal. Shellnutt can impact games on both sides of the ball, altering shots and scoring inside. He is another sleeper that could help a small school program after a year in the weight room. Reinhardt offered last March.

2026 6-5 PF Blake Debity – Heritage-Catoosa
Only a sophomore, Blake Debity has nice long-term value. To be honest, I was surprised when I found out he was only an underclassman. Debity is a big body with a mature game. He’s sturdy thick with a strong frame. Blake is an inside-out post. He has nice footwork with his back to the basket, patiently working the pivot until he gets something he likes. Debity has pick-and-pop skills as well. He’s a solid outside shooter that stretches the floor. He nailed a three and hit a long two to pair with a post bucket. Blake put up 7 points, 3 rebounds and 1 steal. The All-Region selection is a sneaky good player to keep an eye on.
