The 2025 Sandy’s Spiel NWGA Invitational was sponsored by Redline Girls Basketball Club

2026 5-6 PG Kailyn Hamby – Creekview
One of the state’s biggest breakout stars, Kailyn Hamby mashed on the gas in the second half to carry Creekview past Heritage-Catoosa 56-42 after entering the break deadlocked at 25. Hamby is an electric scorer, heavily predicated on her shiftiness and ability to create separation for threes. Kailyn loves to shoot step-back threes off the dribble, showcasing her deep range. KK buried six threes as she went for 24 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 steals and 1 block. Hamby went 4-6 from the line. Her court vision on the move leads to open buckets for teammates and she is an instinctual defender who often finds herself in the right place at the right time. D-II Anderson offered back in 2023 but since then it has been primarily D-III (Berry, Piedmont) and NAIA (Reinhardt, Brenau) programs that have offered which is surprising considering her immense growth over the years. Hamby feels severely underrecruited at the D-II level as her elite shooting and crafty playmaking seem like traits that would translate quickly to the next level. If bigger offers don’t materialize, Kailyn could be a Day 1 difference maker that slipped through the cracks for a lucky D-III or NAIA program.

2027 5-5 G Finley Howard – Creekview
Finley is an athletic, aggressive guard who helps set the tone defensively. The softballer is quick and physical laterally when defending, doing so without using her hands. On offense, Howard can hit the open three and is effective as a downhill attacker. Her quick first step gets her into the lane where she is able to finish with floaters with both hands and can draw fouls in the process. Finley went 5-7 from the foul line en route to recording 12 points, 2 rebounds and 5 assists against Heritage-Catoosa. The 4.6 GPA student is quietly moving up recruiting boards, setting herself up to be a terrific D-III prospect this time next year.

2026 5-9 W Tori Epps – Heritage-Catoosa
In what was a physical game, Tori Epps helped out across the floor in Heritage’s 56-42 loss to Creekview. Epps’ game has grown her senior season, stepping up in the backcourt as a ball handler assisting with initiating the offense. Tori does well using her body. She shields the ball when handling against pressure, is a tough-nosed defender who can guard bigger players and take charges and is a fundamentally sound rebounder who loves to hit-and-get. Epps scored in a variety of ways against Creekview. She hit a three, cashed in on a pair of floaters, scored with her left hand on a spin move and finished through contact on an And-1 drive as she totaled 12 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist and 3 steals. D-III and NAIA schools are tracking with Wesleyan offering in August.
2026 5-7 F Ema Tanner – Heritage-Catoosa
Extremely valuable with her glue-guy tendencies, Ema Tanner packed a punch offensively against Creekview as she finished with 12 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals and 1 block. Tanner is often times an unsung hero for the Generals, not usually a primary scoring option but her well-rounded offensive arsenal along with her spatial awareness allows her to maximize her skill routinely. Ema does a great job finding open spaces in the defense, usually a beneficiary of dump-offs and cuts in the paint. On Saturday, Tanner opened up the floor with her jump shot hitting a baseline jumper and a corner three to go along with an And-1 and a drive off an offensive rebound. Ema went 3-3 from the line as well. Tanner is a key cog for the Generals on both ends of the floor with her subtle versatility.
2028 5-5 PG Blaklee Ledford – Murray County
Blaklee caught fire in the third quarter, turning a four-point deficit into a one-point lead against Dalton before ultimately edging the Catamounts 61-57. Ledford broke free for 11 points in the frame, netting three threes including two pull-ups. Blaklee finished with a game-high 20 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Her quickness penetrating led to two floaters and 5-10 shooting from the foul line. Ledford is among the top point guards in Georgia’s 2028 class. Her competitiveness, motor and ability to impact games in all facets is what makes her so good.
2026 5-8 G Callan Ledford – Murray County
Known for her toughness in the paint, a battler who rebounds exceptionally well for her size and can finish in crowds, Callan made it a point to showcase a different aspect of her game on Saturday against Dalton as she shot the ball from the perimeter throughout the day to try and burst the Catamount zone. Ledford drained a deep three to open up her scoring before later converting three floaters and a mid-range jumper. Ledford shot 5-5 from the foul line as she racked up 16 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and 1 block. Callan’s jumper had better arc on it than I have seen in the past which helped lead to positive results. She settled a few too many times from deep, but overall was effective with her attack especially when putting the ball on the deck. Young Harris and Piedmont have offered the versatile guard.
2027 5-9 F Miley McClure – Murray County
Back from major knee surgery which cost her her sophomore season after winning Class 2A Freshman of the Year, Miley McClure was an X-Factor down the stretch in Murray County’s 61-57 win over Dalton. Miley is a physical powerhouse. She’s got an extremely strong frame with burly shoulders which she uses to play through contact. McClure is a workhorse on the glass, securing rebounds in traffic. Offensively she is at her best from 15-feet and in. She loves to use spin moves to set up difficult-to-contest off-balance shots which she has a knack for sinking. Miley also got to her floater on numerous occasions as she racked up 11 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 steals. The return of the hard-playing combo-forward is a major boon for the title contending Indians.
2027 5-11 F Georgia Sanders – Dalton
I was quite impressed with Georgia Sanders in my first viewing of the frontcourt prospect. I loved how she ripped down rebounds along with her overall activity on both sides of the ball. Although she battled foul trouble throughout the game, Sanders was a difference maker when on the floor as she displayed a diverse offensive skill set equipped with a soft shooting touch with range out to 15-feet and the comfortability finishing with her left hand inside. Georgia scored on a pair of putbacks and was perfect from the foul line at 4-4. Sanders double-doubled with 14 points, 10 rebounds, 1 steal and 1 block. She’s an intriguing forward that I would love to evaluate more frequently.
2028 5-8 G Emery Silvers – Dalton
I like what Emery brought to the floor in Dalton’s narrow loss to Murray County. Silvers has nice size on the perimeter with rangy length. She’s a good athlete with quick feet and end-to-end speed. Emery thrives in the open floor. She gets out in transition and finishes with both hands. All six of her hoops came at the rim on drives. Often times on Saturday it was her defense which sparked her offense. Silvers moves well sideline-to-sideline as an aggressive defender with active hands. Emery piled up 13 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals against the Indians. If she is able to consistently knock down perimeter jumpers, I think her stock could soar over the next three seasons.

2028 5-8 W Azhia Kendall – Heard County
I became bullish on Heard County when I saw them in the offseason last year. The Braves went on to win 25 games. I am even higher on Heard this season as nearly their entire roster returns highlighted by sophomore Azhia Kendall. The high-energy swingman took over in spurts with her athleticism and well-rounded skill as Heard County rallied to knock off Christian Heritage in overtime 69-66, using a 10-0 run at the end of regulation to force overtime. Kendall is the head of the snake and the head of the suffocating press which wilted the Lions. Azhia used her speed and length to force turnovers. Kendall is more than just a game-wrecking athlete however. Azhia is a versatile scorer both slashing and shooting. Using her high compact release Kendall drained a pair of threes and hit three mid-range jumpers including a coast-to-coast pull-up. When Azhia decided to attack off the bounce, she finished with both hands. In total, Kendall poured in 22 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist and 6 steals, shooting 2-5 from the foul line. As Heard County treks deeper and deeper into the postseason each year, expect Azhia Kendall to become more and more of a household name and eventually a known commodity among college coaches.

2027 5-6 G Emma Lawson – Heard County
Heard County’s record holder with eight made threes in a single game, Emma didn’t quite match that mark on Saturday but Lawson did come up clutch down the stretch with her shot-making as the Braves rallied to beat Christian Heritage 69-66. Emma drilled four threes including two in the decisive overtime stanza after putting up seven points in the fourth quarter. Lawson finished with 20 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 steal. Aside from her marksman shooting, Emma sank a pair of mid-range pull-ups, scored on a floater and converted a putback with her right hand on the left side. With shooting coming at a premium, there are always roster spots available in college for floor spacers. Lawson could sneak up and nab some offers over the next 12+ months. D-III, NAIA and NCCAA schools should do their due diligence.

2027 5-7 F Emma Beers – Heard County
Everybody loves Beers and each team could use a six-pack as Emma came up big throughout the day with her toughness as an integral glue piece willing to do what it takes to win. Listed at 5-foot-7, Beers plays bigger than her size with how aggressive of a rebounder and how smart of a defender she is. Emma is comfortable playing physical inside. She sacrifices her body for the betterment of the team, drawing a pair of charges including one with 37.8 seconds left in overtime with the Braves clinging onto a 67-66 lead. Emma is more than just a garbage guy when it comes to her offensive game. She has nice touch from 10-15 feet, sinking a mid-range jumper along with three shorter shots coming around the paint. Beers cracked open 8 points, 11 rebounds, 1 assist, 3 steals and 2 blocks in the 69-66 overtime victory against Christian Heritage. I am a fan of her game.

2028 5-7 G Brinley O’Ferrall – Christian Heritage
It was the best I’ve ever seen Brinley O’Ferrall, the sophomore exploding for a showcase-best 25 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 steals in an overtime loss to Heard County. Brinley had the unenviable task of being the primary ball handler against the Braves’ relentless press. While the pressure eventually wore on O’Ferrall and the entire Lion roster, Brinley was able to combat the heat by not getting sped up. Brinley plays at her own pace no matter what, a methodical attacker who matriculates the ball past defenders without blazing speed, a credit to her ability to protect the ball when getting downhill. O’Ferrall was able to slide by defenders and craftily drop in floaters and utilize euro steps to score in the paint. Brinley buried two threes and scored on a putback while her other seven baskets came on drives. O’Ferrall’s sturdy frame helps her absorb contact and stay on line with her takes. If Brinley is able to produce like she did on Saturday at a consistent rate, Christian Heritage will be a scary team to see come February if the Lions are clicking on all cylinders.

2026 5-9 W Carly Bramlett – Christian Heritage
Closing in on 1,000 points, Carly Bramlett added another 16 to her ledger as she also collected 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 5 steals and 1 block in an overtime loss to Heard County. Carly caught fire in the third quarter with three quick threes. While she has an unorthodox shot, Bramlett is a legitimate three-level scoring threat capable of beating defenders in a variety of ways. She sank four total jumpers and went 5-8 from the foul line. Carly has started trending among D-III programs as LaGrange and Houghton have offered. She is a tough rebounder with inside-out offensive skills, a mismatch creator with her game.
