Millie Southards
2029 5-7 PG Millie Southards – Rabun County
Millie controlled the action in a 56-43 win, a lead that was built to 20 points in the second half. The freshman has great physical strength to go along with her understanding of the game. She takes no possessions off. A complete player, Southards is a tenacious on-ball defender who moves her feet exceptionally well while limiting space, making ball handlers uncomfortable. Offensively, Southards surveys the floor and is always looking to pitch ahead for open layups. She’s tough as a drive-and-kick facilitator and is a capable scorer when she decides to attack herself. Southards sank a one-dribble pull-up to open her scoring and bookended her night with a corner three as she provided 8 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals and 1 block.

AddyBeth Owens
2027 5-5 CG Addy Beth Owens – Rabun County
AB came out of the gates hot, sinking back-to-back threes to get Rabun County off to a quick start. Owens shot the ball with confidence throughout the night and looked nimble on her feet as a penetrator and defender. Addy Beth had some strong takes to the hoop, slicing through the defense with euro steps and tossing in soft floaters that kissed off the glass in traffic. Owens’ downhill attack coupled with her ability to knock down open shots and find the open man led to explosive bursts that gave the LadyCats cushion. Addy Beth finished with a game-high 14 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal and 1 block.

Adelyn Thompson2027 5-6 CG Adelyn Thompson – Rabun County
Rabun County’s big-shot maker filed in 10 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals against Model. She scored in transition twice, one being a pull-up jumper from the mid-range. In the half court, Adelyn nailed a three off the dribble and cashed in on a corner catch-and-shoot. Thompson was light on her feet, able to track down 50/50 balls before Model players could corral possession. Adelyn’s synergy in the backcourt with Millie Southards and Addy Beth Owens leads to crisp ball movement and open shots as each player trusts one another to make the right reads.

2028 6-0 F Kamri Sanders – Model
A bright spot for Model, Kamri Sanders battled foul trouble but still showcased her impressive versatile skillset as she attacked inside and out. Standing around 6-foot tall, Sanders is an imposing force. She is extremely nimble for her size, using pirouetting footwork to spin her way to the basket with drop steps to score in traffic. Sanders does a very good job of using her shoulders and overall strength to back down defenders to power through them for buckets. Kamri serves at a point-forward at times with how well she passes, especially with touch-pass lobs she floats over the defense to teammates sealing inside. Maintaining her fitness will be key as she has a robust skill set to play all over the floor if she keeps her footspeed where it is. Sanders is one of the most complete players in Northwest Georgia. In the loss to Rabun County, Kamri collected 10 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assist and 1 steal. College recruitment shouldn’t be too far off in the distance for the sophomore.

2028 5-7 SG Samantha Betz – Model
Injuries helped derail what was a promising season for Model but with that adversity came opportunity. Samantha Betz was one of many who stepped up in an elevated role. The lefty had one of her best shooting nights of the season against Rabun County, splashing three three-pointers to lead the Blue Devils with 13 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal and 1 block. Betz was steady throughout the night, helping handle the ball and using her length to defend on the perimeter.
