2025 6-8 C Elyiss Williams – Camden County
The five-star number one ranked tight end in the nation showed off his skill on the hardwood at his future home, dominating the paint defensively with his length, strength and athleticism. Williams is a true defensive anchor. He cleans up mistakes at the back of the defense and erases shots. He’s active on both sides of the ball, a focal point of the offense as the Wildcats look to force feed him at times. Elyiss’ defense is ahead of his offense, but Williams finishes well around the basket with dunks, putbacks and reverses. His strongest offense is when he is facing the hoop with squared shoulders as opposed to back-to-the-basket hook shots. He is effective in the pick-and-roll, slipping to the hoop for buckets. In a 47-39 loss to Tri-Cities, Elyiss collected 15 points, 5 rebounds, 1 steal and 2 blocks in front of UGA football coach Mike Bobo.

2025 6-6 W Sean Van Dorn – Tri-Cities
Back in Georgia, Sean Van Dorn had a strong showing on Saturday with his new team. Van Dorn has good size on the perimeter and is capable three-level scorer. He excelled at getting to the foul line over the course of the day, creating mismatches with his inside-out game. Over two games, Sean hit a pair of threes and went 6-7 from the foul line.

2026 5-10 PG Will Myles – Etowah
The value added to the Etowah backcourt with the addition of Will Myles was on full display at UGA. Myles, an undersized point guard who averaged just 3.8 points per game last season, was explosive on Saturday. He hunted his offense consistently and scored in bunches, even when defended by much larger guards. Will trusts his jump shot. He creates off the dribble and can take and make difficult shots from the mid-range and beyond. In their first game of camp, Etowah rallied from down double digits to stun Tri-Cities 45-44, Myles erupting for 18 second half points including a game-winning three-pointer off the bounce with five seconds left. Will sank four threes in the win and finished with both hands downhill.

2026 6-5 F Connor Coxwell – North Gwinnett
Connor is a tough-nosed versatile forward with solid guard skills. The defensive end has some point-forward to his game, deftly able to deliver perfect bounce passes to backdoor cutters. When Coxwell looked to score himself, he got it done by using his strength on the low block, scoring over his left shoulder with a baby hook. Coxwell did well setting up defenders and dipping his shoulder into their chests to create separation before elevating to finish. With his athleticism, Coxwell is a tweener that can help defend 3-5 and is a sneaky good rim protector for his size.

2027 6-5 F Max Patterson – North Gwinnett
I came away very impressed with Max Patterson’s skill level on both ends of the floor. He surprised me with how good of a shot blocker he is, timing his jumps perfectly and savvily walling up to contest shots without fouling. Patterson is a rugged rebounder in traffic, the tight end showcasing his nose for the ball snagging 9 rebounds apiece in the two games I saw. Max scores on the low block but also has touch from beyond the arc, hitting a pair of threes against Baldwin as he posted 12 points.

2026 6-3 G Deven Nelson – Baldwin
Devin Nelson has a big year ahead of him, primed to emerge as one of Middle Georgia’s top prospects. A big guard with explosive athleticism, the southpaw scores downhill but is also a very good three-point shooter. He netted three against North Gwinnett as he pumped in a game-high 15 points, nearly half of his team’s 32. Nelson’s size and quickness could lead him to becoming an above average on-ball defender that will thrive in the open floor.

2025 5-11 G Jacob Lee – Jackson County
Jacob is a grinder. He may not be the tallest, fastest or most athletic player on the floor, but you can tell he wants it just as bad if not more than anyone else out there. He is a hustler that gets on the floor and a heady playmaker that serves as a veteran floor general at lead guard. In a 43-39 loss to Duluth, Lee accounted for a game-high 16 points, 6 rebounds and 2 steals.  Jacob found points in the half court and full court, getting to the basket with both hands, cutting without the ball for layups and hitting from the mid-range and three-point line.

2026 5-11 G Payne Smith – South Forsyth
Payne looks ready to fully emerge as South Forsyth’s go-to guy under first-year Head Coach Chris Reonas after earning an All-Region Honorable Mention selection a year ago. Smith is a good athlete with a strong lower body. His sudden bursts of speed and leaping ability come from his legs as he is able to push off and get to his spots where he can elevate to score over contests. Smith is a tough finisher in traffic with both hands. Payne has a smooth flow with the ball which helps him change directions in a sharp and fluid motion. In the War Eagles’ 62-25 win over Lakeside-DeKalb, Smith racked up 12 points, 1 rebound, 3 assists and 1 steal.

2026 6-0 SG Anderson Carey – Walker
Anderson Carey continues to separate himself as quite possibly the best three-point shooter in Georgia with his consistent accuracy. The specialist netted 6-11 threes against Parkview in a 72-40 win, piling in 23 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal. Carey works hard to free himself away from the ball. When he catches, he has the exact same balance, form and release on every shot, repeating his muscle memory with ease. Aside from his expertise beyond the arc, Anderson is a smart decision maker who isn’t afraid to pass up a good look of his own for a great shot for a teammate. Carey also can finish with his left hand upon sneaking in for offensive rebounds.
