COVID has continued to hit programs hard as teams have been in and out of quarantine throughout the season. Now in Week 3, we still wait for teams to get to full strength after football season and for DeKalb County to play ball (which is expected to finally happen this week). December 5th was a big day in the state as the CTC Classic, Milton Tip-Off Classic and the Tournament of Champions all pitted Top 10 teams against one another. The outcome? Two new number ones. No. 1 Grayson 71, Gainesville 57: Charleston Southern-signee Taje Kelly posted 16 points and 7 rebounds while Clemson-bound big Ian Schieffelin added 12 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Tyrese Elliott had 16 points and 6 assists.

No. 4 Berkmar 75, Cedar Shoals 39: Dara Olonade had 14 points while Jermahri Hill and Destin Logan scored 13 apiece. Jameel Rideout had 11 points. Malique Ewin tallied 8 points and 12 rebounds. Cedar Shoals was led by Kashik Brown’s 12 points and 3 assists. Roger Walker had 7 points and 7 rebounds.

No. 8 Cherokee 83, Sequoyah 57: The Warriors pounded Sequoyah behind Xavier-signee Elijah Tucker’s 23 points. Ethan Pickett and DJ Potts-Heard scored 13 apiece. Taihland Owens settled for 10 points. Continue reading Game Night Recap 12-1
