Classification realignment has come, meaning regions across the GHSA will look very different in most sections of the state. Maybe the biggest change is the reintegration of private schools with public schools, something I have plenty of thoughts about but would be better served expressing my opinions through a different medium such as the Spielin’ & Dealin’ Podcast. It was a record-breaking offseason for all the wrong reasons. The 189 discovered transfers this offseason are by far the most I’ve ever encountered over my seven years of coverage. Class 7A

What an offseason it was – or wasn’t depending on who you are. We are fortunate to be playing basketball in this current whacky climate. Very little felt normal and regular during the summer months but one thing. One thing that we found out won’t slow down regardless of a social lockdown and a pandemic sweeping the nation: the GHSA’s own pandemic – transfers. With over 100 transfers across Georgia and classifications completely reshaped and rearranged, we will have another unpredictable year of GHSA basketball – just how I like it.
